Mimi Faust shocked many with her publicity stunt in the form of a raunchy home video with her beau Nikko, but those in the know were already aware that Mimi was desperate to have an exciting storyline for the upcoming season of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” that she was willing to do just about anything.
But the move was also about money too. Sources close to the reality star insist that she and Nikko were hoping they would make a fortune from the tape, kind of how Kim Kardashian was able to do with her tape with Ray J. However, insiders are saying the couple wasn’t offered much upfront from Vivid Entertainment because the company didn’t even know who they were when they approached them.
Hollywood Life reports:
“Have you every heard of Mimi Faust before her porn dropped? Exactly!” the source tells us. “Mimi is trying to make a name for herself and become relevant. She’s riding this new wave of fame until it ends.”
Just how much exactly did Mimi make?
“She did it for the money and from what I’m hearing she cashed in about 100 racks.”
Mimi reportedly got $100,000 for the video, but we recall that Kim Kardashian got at least $500,000 upfront for hers and her mom Kris Jenner reportedly had to jump through hoops to secure residuals in the deal. Apparently Vivid doesn’t usually offer folks residuals. So it’s hard to imagine that Mimi and Nikko are getting paid per sell like Kim is since they were virtually unknown when they inked the deal.
But if you look at Mimi’s Twitter feed, you’ll see she’s quite proud of herself regardless.
Since we’re not sure if this amount is even correct, we’re labeling it as gossip for now.

I’m not sure what Mimi plans to achieve with this video besides social media fame and meme domination, what else is she going to get? I doubt she will get a spinoff show, a major magazine cover, or multimillion dollar deals like Kim has. What Kim did was a rarity, not the standard.
She could always go into the bathroom remodeling business. People are freaks and want their partners swinging from shower rods.

I’m not going to drag Mimi for her actions, but I will say that no matter how proud and content she appears to be about her decision, I’m still deeply concerned about her mental/emotional well-being. After hearing about her upbringing in Scientology and how it permanently marred her relationship with her mom, I can’t help but view what she’s doing through that lens. I’ve researched Scientology a bit in terms of how members are treated (especially children) and there’s no way she could’ve survived such an experience unscathed. I’ve seen a lot of allegations of brainwashing, sexual and physical abuse, neglect, children separated from parents, etc. within that group. Now I know that lots of people with perfect childhoods have made decisions to do porn, but in Mimi’s case I think a lot of her decisions are somehow related to her experiences with a group that many label as a cult.
Ditto with Joseline who started running away from home and selling her body at a young age and could only return home after she paid her drug addicted mom a re-entry fee. Neither of these women grew up with the safe havens that we know to be home and (decent) parents. Both are now grown women who talk a good game of confidence and independence, but all I see are wounded little girls who are easily persuaded by men, money and attention due to low self-esteem.
Funny how both women also latched onto the same man who has similar childhood issues being that he was abandoned by his own mother. Coincidence? I think not.
Childhood doesn’t excuse everything that a person does, but it can’t be overlooked either. In these three, I see hurt and confused children masquerading as adults in search of someone or something that will mend their brokenness. Mimi is going to find that money and 15 minutes of fame isn’t a fix afterall and when she discovers this, I pray that there are people in her life to help her deal with that reality.
