Trey Songz addresses August Alsina beef? August Alsina and Trey Songz had a major beef that led to August shading Trey in some of his interviews and he even had to put “106 & Park” host Keshia Chante in check for asking him about his rival during his recent appearance.
However, August recently confirmed that he and Trey are now back on good terms and now Trey himself is addressing their fallout.
He tells Capital Xtra Radio:
“August is like a little brother to me. You know what I mean? I took him on early in his career. We had a discrepancy and he didn’t know how to deal with that. He hasn’t been in a situation where he has to answer the same question a million times. That’s frustrating so you know, I believe he spoke and said some things he didn’t really mean. Out of pressure. I really care about him. I mean, he got a lot going on in his life, outside of music. And I know that about him.”
Trey even explains why he didn’t respond publicly when August took jabs:
“I didn’t feel the need to speak out against him; that really don’t do nothing for me. I don’t wanna see nobody do bad. If a new artist come in and I think they’re talented, I wouldn’t have jumped on his song or been all in this picture, that picture. Have him here, there with me. I mean, I like the dude. You know what I mean? So everything he said about me, it’s whatever because I want to see him do good and I get nothing out of talking down on people.”
Well I’m glad Trey kept it grown and they squashed it.
Why are R&B singers beefing anyway? lol
I respect Trey’s response. Very mature. Now let’s just hope August learns from it.
I still don’t know why they were beefing anyway…to me it just kind of came out of nowhere. I’m glad they are cool now.
In other words elephants don’t swat flies. Very smart Trey.
Gotta give it to Trey for taking the high road. Trey is smart though beefing hurts his stock. This is something August will have to learn if he wants endorsements and other opportunities aside from music.
August is a newbie. He’ll learn how the game works. There was a time when Trey tried to beef with R Kelly and Kellz had to shut him down and let him know he’s too successful of an artist to beef. Now Trey understands it and didn’t take the bait with August. You live and you learn.
Agreed.
Good answer.
I love Trigga.
Well it was a dumb beef anyway.
I love both. So I’m glad they ended that feud.
I applaud him for taking the high road
Very classy move. Nice to see someone behave like an ADULT!
I’m proud of Trey for not feeding into the negativity.
