Rapper Common has had two very high-profile romances with fellow stars Serena Williams and Erykah Badu, but Common seems to think the effects of his relationship with Erykah Badu were more lasting.
In a recent interview with The Combat Jack Show, Common confirms the long running rumor of Erykah Badu having the ability to have any man she dates whipped.
He says:
“Yeah, the ‘Badu Box’ is real. It can take you to another universe. But seriously that’s when you meet somebody that’s real special and you’re like, ‘Man, this woman got … she got something else man.’ It ain’t just the sex. It ain’t just the looks. It’s like something that’s kind of like spirit-wise where you’re like, ‘This woman got something else.”
Common also admitted that his relationship with Erykah was responsible for his change in fashion over a decade ago too:
“She definitely was not like, ‘wear this.’ Moving to New York, I had the aspirations to do something new, to change, to grow, just try new things. She definitely was an influence … She introduced me to certain people that were creative artists, but as far as my choice — it was my choice to say, ‘I want to do this. I want to do that.”
Nice to see a high profile black entertainer giving a woman props, rather than dogging her out, for a change.
Not sure I want to know anymore about the “Badu Box”, cuz frankly that woman scares me. But glad to know he has so much affection and high regard for her!

Erykah Badu has always rumored to have an influence on men but it is funny actually hearing it from a man lol. I know Erykah takes her bedroom skills serious she tweeted not too long ago that ladies need to drink raw cranberries often for a sweet V. Ha!
