Lil Wayne is currently at odds with Baby and the Cash Money crew, and although he wants off the label, Birdman says he will battle Weezy in the courts if he tries to leave.

Interestingly enough, sources claim Jay Z has tried once again to reach out to the rapper and offer him a spot on Roc Nation.

SMS Media writes:

He made claims of the labels holding his new music and not allowing him to express his creativity. If his wish of getting off Cash Money records is granted, Jay-Z and Roc Nation are ready to pick up where Cash Money records left off.

If only it was that simple! In order for Wayne to sign with Roc Nation Birdman will have to let him out of his contract.

Roc Nation reportedly reached out to Wayne offering him a deal over the weekend. There’s no word of what the contract consisted of but Wayne is praying his old contract gets lifted.

In 2008 Lil Wayne was supposed to ink a deal with Jayz and Roc-A-Fella Records.

We honestly doubt Birdman will ever let Lil Wayne out of his contract and it’s also possible this could very well be just another rumor since Jay Z and Lil Wayne have been somewhat feuding in music for the last couple of years.

  1. This could happen, it might take a middle man to convince Baby to let Wayne off the label. Don’t know how much Baby respects Jay but if he does could happen. I don’t dismiss it.

  2. I would love to see this happen. Lil Wayne would be free and in charge of his own career like all of the other Roc Nation artists. He would be able to get back to creativity and being a true artist. Look how well J Cole is doing.
