A lot has happened in rap in the last several hours.

Compton legend Dr. Dre dropped a new album on Apple Music to celebrate the impending release of “Straight Outta Compton” and Kendrick’s features on the album are getting lots of buzz because folks seem to think he may have went after Drake.

Radio.com writes:

On the track “Darkside/Gone” Lamar raps: “But still I got enemies giving me energy, I wanna fight now/ subliminally sent to me all of this hate,” referencing Drake’s track “Energy,” which appeared on his recent mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

Later, on the track “Deep Water,” the rapper incorporates Drake’s lyrics from “Started From The Bottom” and “6 God” into his verse: “Motherf—er know I started from the bottom /They liable to bury him, they nominated six to carry him/ They worrying him to death, but he’s no vegetarian/ The beef is on his breath, inheriting the drama better than/ A great white, n—-, this is life in my aquarium.”

We’re not so sure we see this as Drake shade but tell us where you stand.

In related news, one rapper who has made it very clear that he isn’t Team Drake may be opening up a little bit more about their differences.

During a freestyle at a recent performance, Meek Mill claims his beef with Drake may really have something to do with his girlfriend Nicki Minaj.

He raps:

“See I don’t think it’s bout no rapping it’s about Nicki / He told us he was first in line but it got tricky / I still wake up with the lady that you said you first in line with

“See I represent the niggas the come from the bottom/If you started from that, make some f*cking noise / I said when I first seen my homie sitting in the casket / Is when I first went to get the ratchet / Sh*t is real, the f*ck Drake sent you to do me like Emmett Till / And I can smell death in the air and you the kill / When you was still out in the field toting them Glocks / Man he was still wheelchair Jimmy rolling them blocks / My momma’s used to holding Berettas when they is hot / Your momma used to peek out the window and call the cops / And the nerve of y’all n*ggas, saying you started from the bottom / When the real niggas dying, cops kill them, not a crime / All that bullsh*t you selling, real n*ggas never buy / Uh, I got word from the six, n*ggas say you testify”

  1. Meek just needs to give it up. He ain’t got the the fan base to take Drake down a peg or two. And I don’t think Kendrick was shading Drake but baby if he wanted to drag Drake’s corny a-s all the way back to Canada, he could. Quiet as it’s kept, Drake can’t f-ck with J Cole or Kendrick period. He better stick to the Meek Mills.

    1. Oh please! Why would Kendrick be jealous when he can go platinum, just got done doing a song with Taylor Swift and already has the respect of all of his peers (Drake doesn’t). Y’all need to stop. Since Control, Drake has been firing off subliminals. K Dot is just clapping black.

  2. Drake and Kendrick have been shading each other since the Control situation. So this could be shade. My money is on Kendrick though.

  3. I’m not sure if this is really a shot at Drake but Drake wouldn’t go at Kendrick like he did Meek. That’s for sure.

  4. Drake picks and chooses his battles. He’ll do another subminal and keep it moving. He ain’t bold enough to release a diss track for Kendrick.

  5. At some point, stans are going to have to be honest and admit people probably keep coming for Drake because he’s a major butthole behind the scenes. Every person who has said something said he didn’t come through when he said he would. That’s enough to make people stop liking him. It’s not always jealousy.

  6. I don’t think Kendrick was being shady but if he was Drake wouldn’t respond he knows he can’t handle Kendrick,Drake isn’t stupid. Meek needs to stop and take the L now he trying to drag Nicki into this he lost he had a chance to get at Drake lyrically. Meek suppose to be a hood battle rapper from Philly and he lost to Drake. Yes Drake is more popular has more fans but he thought he could out rap Drake and he didn’t deliver he put all the pressure on himself and crapped out. I’m still laughing at Drake saying he getting bodied by a singing n-gga lol Meek just got to take the L and move on.

  7. Drake ain’t gonna do nothing because he won’t be able to win off popularity with Kendrick. He was cheesing it up and being all cocky with Will and Kanye, but if he goes at Kendrick like that he won’t have A listers in his corner like that. They love Kendrick too. Meek was an easy win.

  8. Drake stans are so annoying. This is Hip Hop. People go at each other all the time. It’s only bad when someone gets killed. Calm down.

  9. Nicki needs to pay attention to how Meek is using her. This beef has shown me more of his character as her man than it has his talents as a rapper. He needs to let this go and hope he can spare the rest of his career.

As for Drake and Kendrick, I don’t think that was shade. I like them both but I love Kendrick more so… Drake might wanna be just send him bottles too with a “let’s be friends” note attached.

  10. It could be a sneak diss but Drake would never Meek Mill Kendrick so there’s that. And Meek should really just let it completely go. He had his chance and blew it.

  11. Still don’t know what the hype is over Kendrick but anyway..everyone with this drake vs Kendrick. Beyonce vs Rihanna…whatever
