According to TMZ, Khloe has already demoted James Harden in wake of Lamar beginning his recovery process.

Khloe Kardashian has put the brakes on her relationship with James Harden, in the wake of Lamar Odom’s medical crisis … sources tell TMZ.
We’re told Khloe is putting her relationship with the NBA star on ice, and as one source puts it, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see she still has deep feelings for Lamar.
TMZ broke the story … Khloe will be by Lamar’s side during his rehab, which will take many months.

From a PR perspective, it’s possible Khloe and Harden were just a PR relationship. Note that they didn’t start “dating” until he was negotiating that contract with Adidas. The next thing you know he’s in the blogs everyday and he gets a fat contract with Adidas. He was barely spotted with Khloe after that.
His services are no longer needed. Now she’ll milk this Lamar thing for a new spinoff and E special.
