Chrisette says she and Doug were able to move forward after she called him after seven years of not speaking and they have been inseparable since.
She tells the SCOOP Reloaded:
“Things started off in a romantic direction. We were in school for music – he was in school studying business, and I was in school studying the music side of business – and we hit it off kind of right away-ish. He said, give me some time…he said, give me a year, and I’ll have you signed to a major label. And I kind of didn’t want to be signed to a major label at the time, and I just wanted to sing. He had about two weeks, and I was signed to Def Jam, so that was the beginning of our business relationship. Early on to the business relationship, things got crazy! If you’ve never read about it, if you’ve never heard about it, we were in the midst of a crazy, crazy lawsuit, litigation situation with each other, and we hadn’t spoken for literally seven years. I finally walked away from the major record label side of the business and started my own label, Rich Hipster, which got signed right away to Caroline/Capital Records. I had fun with it, but I knew something was missing. I called Doug, and after speaking to him for only a couple of hours, we were inseparable again. It’s the craziest, weirdest thing because we had gone through all that together.”
She also confirms Doug popped the big question just days after their reconciliation:
“A few days into us talking again, he was like let’s go hang out in the studio. We went to the studio – a really cool spot here in New York City – and the manager of the studio was like, Doug wants to talk to you upstairs on the roof. I was suppose to have known what was going to happen next, but I get to the rooftop. There’s flower petals on the ground, the Empire State Building is in the background, and here he is, dropping down to one knee, and opening up a box, and I couldn’t do anything but scream and every kind of reaction I don’t think you’re suppose to have. I never cried, I just screamed, and screamed, and screamed.”
Chrisette and Doug don’t have a wedding date as of yet, but Chrisette wants to get married at Oheka Castle in New York.

Hmm this could go two ways. They can make it work and learn from the past or crash and burn after the honeymoon/I missed you phase. Best of luck to them though.
I agree.
Right.
I hope they don’t ever work together again because that seems to be an issue for them.
This won’t end well.
Hell no they trippin it won’t work too much bad blood.
I hope they resolve whatever issues caused their breakup because marriage sure won’t.
Nope.
I thought she was with Justin
This sounds like a tragedy in the making but I hope I’m wrong! Days after the reconciliation? I think they need to take some time to make sure this is sincere. Best of luck to them though!
