Foxy Brown Has Some Words for VH1

Lil Kim and Missy Elliott were honored at “Hip Hop Honors” this year, but fans of Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill are left wondering why they weren’t at the event.

According to Foxy, they weren’t invited.

She writes the following on her Instagram account:

THANK YOU Beloveds!??And Be Clear Guys, This Is ONLY Being Granted A “Caption” Due To The Overwhelming Outcry From Fans Everywhere! I Awoke This Morning, To Our Fans Across The World’s TRENDING Outrage At (Reality Show Network) @VH1’s Non-Inclusion Of LAURYN HILL & FOXY BROWN. Anyone Recognized, Whether The Contribution Big Or Small We Applaud. Personally, I’d Prefer Being Held To A Much Higher Standard In My Walk, But Fans Went Ballistic; The PEOPLE Have Spoken! We’ve Been Blessed To Set The Bar At It’s Highest Heights; Most Notably Receiving The 2016 Historic “KEY”?To My CITY of BROOKLYN?…..Therefore, Humbly Speaking The CALIBER Of HONOR I’d Aspire To Are Those “UPPER ECHELON”. After All Guys This Is VH1!

Truthfully, The Only Accolade That Truly Matters To ME Is Of The MOST HIGH.

Rest Assured, I’m In The Studio Perfecting This Incredible Return. Humbled And Blessed To Kill It Again! My Girl L BOOGIE (My Fav) And I, Have The Dopest Convo, Cracking Jokes In Our Caribbean Accents As She Prepares For An Amazing Overseas Tour.

So, Actually Guys Let’s THANK @VH1???? As We Are Definitely #TheDifference!!!! I LOVE MY FOXNATION! ❤️Fox!

  1. I thought it was odd she wasn’t there too. I mean her and Lil Kim were both doing their thing at the same time. How do you bring up one and not the other?

  2. LOL. I knew she was going to say something. But she was a lot more calmer about it then I thought she would be.

  3. Didn’t Foxy come out before Kim? Regardless, it’s weird to talk about the history of female rappers and not include Foxy Brown. But maybe they left her out because they were honoring Kim and didn’t want any drama. And they probably left out Lauryn because some people don’t feel she made enough music to be looked at as a legend.

  4. Now is she salty because she was left out or because Kim was honored and she wasn’t? There’s a difference.

  5. I don’t know how you call Kim a legend but not Foxy but whatever. And Lauryn’s music speaks for itself. She doesn’t need VH1’s ratchet arse to acknowledge her.

  6. It’s amazing how people are trying to rewrite history. Kim’s whole image was created by Biggie. She didn’t write most of the verses people love her for, and most of her style was more s-xist than feminist. And honestly her and Foxy are the same to me. I don’t think they revolutionized rap. Now MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Eve and Lauryn were true game changers. That’s my opinion and I am not going to argue about it either llh.

    1. All those people including Kim and Fox revolutionized rap. And they were all able to coexist with each other which we don’t have today. For that reason alone I can’t knock any of em. Sh-t I had some good times to the music back then.

      1. Ms.Jackson today’s rap can’t even compare to sh-t back then..gimmicks, $,hoes,b-tches,cars..no substance. .I’d rather listen to the 90’s.

    2. Wasn’t Foxy’s lyrics written by Jay…so what’s your point? Kim was fukn hot period..Queen, Ltye,Eve..you’re on point. .it’s funny people are under the assumption all of these rappers write their own sh-t..Bulsh-t. .but whatever. .

      1. Yeah that’s what I meant about Foxy and Kim being the same to me. Neither one of them wrote their own lyrics.
