Shaunie O’Neal Explains Why BBW Criticism is Unfair
Tami Roman has questioned if people are harder on the “Basketball Wives” because they are women of color, and now Shaunie O’Neal is expressing the same views.
“They’re a little harder on us, for whatever reason … but there’s nothing going on in Basketball Wives that isn’t going on with Real Housewives of New York. Hell, most of the time I think we’re a lot tamer,” she said, laughing. “And sometimes, honestly I agree [with the critics]. It’s not a proud moment for me [when we’re fighting]. Did it happen? Yes. Do you expect VH1 to leave that on the cutting room floor? Absolutely not.” She said though, that she’s not a puppeteer. “Our show, it’s a 110 percent real.”
Her and Tami need to shut the f-ck up. They didn’t give a f-ck about the show being ratchet until that backlash got real. Now they want to be sensitive. Stand by your sh-t.
I understand the backlash and draggings Shaunie gets for BBW but I can’t lie, she’s right. People do not go that hard at white women doing the same thing on their reality shows. It’s like black women have to be a monolith and one represents all. That’s crazy to me.

Well all reality shows are trashy to some degree. That’s why I only put my support into real scripted television.
I am not going to stop holding her responsible for the foolishness she decided to put on TV. Nope.
