The media is buzzing about Mariah Carey’s future because a new report is suggesting that Epic Records is thinking about dropping her from the label.

Yesterday — Monday– I caught word that Epic Records is very unhappy with Mariah. That recent single, called “I Don’t,” was a total failure. It was also a total surprise to Epic. They were sent the track all completed, with no forewarning from Carey’s camp that it was coming, I am told. They hadn’t heard it. “We were just told to put it out,” says a source. So they did. And it flopped.
Now my sources say Epic chief L.A. Reid is considering dropping Mariah from the label. In the time since she signed with him, Carey has had two singles– “I Don’t” and “Infinity.” They were not sellers, and didn’t get played on radio. There is no work being done toward an album, and no conversations are taking place between Epic and Carey’s team.
Epic doesn’t seem to do much for their artists anyway. Mariah needs new management though.
Mariah’s issue is her manager. Mariah is a legend so why did they have her do a reality show anyway? Her manager just makes terrible decisions and I don’t know why Mariah just won’t fire her.
I don’t understand why she hasn’t fired Stella either. She’s terrible.
I think Mariah should fire and rebuild her team. It’s time.
She’s a legend but she needs to get her act together. She needs a new manager but she also need to calm it down some. She went from being sort of a mysterious diva to sharing way too much. So no more reality shows and back to making classics and she should be good.
Her career is over. She has tarnished her image. Very few people can stand her.
