Maxine calls a PR specialist to clean up Shawn and Nina’s mess.
Maxine’s good friend in public relations, Isabel, tells her she will help clean up the controversy surrounding Shawn and Nina’s affair.
It’s currently headline news and even a hot topic on rival talk show, “The View.”
Heather and Brad are still clashing over their son.
Brad is trying to turn their son into a huge baseball fan and get him to stop wearing dresses. Heather does not like this but Brad tells her their son has been brainwashed by the liberal media and he’s sure they can change him.
Shawn tells Maxine he’s happy with Nina.
Despite Shawn and Nina getting together while she was married, Shawn tells her that he’s happy. He apologizes to Maxine for not confiding in her about it but it’s pretty clear that Maxine feels betrayed that he kept a secret from her for so long.
Anna Krouse makes her entrance.
Anna arrives to the studio and gets adjusted in her new dressing room.
Everyone comes to the dressing room to meet Anna. Nina gets frustrated when she sees Anna took her chair.
Meanwhile Isabel suggests Nina reads a statement about her pregnancy and affair to the audience. Nina isn’t comfortable with this, but agrees to it for the best interest of the show.
Maxine introduces Anna as a guest co-host.
Now that Maxine kept her word and hired Anna as a guest co-host, she dreadfully introduces her. Not too long after, the topic switches to Nina and it’s time for her to address her troubled marriage to Andrew.
“I need to address the elephant in the room.” – Maxine
Nina reads the statement she was given and asks the audience for privacy. She also claims the whole ordeal will aid in “personal growth.”
Anna says she thinks it’s s*xist that Andrew isn’t getting any blame for Nina stepping out like women usually receive when a man cheats. She then asks Nina if she cheated with Shawn because Andrew struggled to impregnate her.
This angers Andrew and he tells Nina he will get even if he’s discussed on the show again.
Nina gives Anna an earful after she hangs up with Andrew, but Anna feels like she was just doing her job. Apparently, the network agrees because they tell Shawn that they loved how well she stirred the pot.
Julian encourages Kibby to take some classes.
After demonstrating that she had little knowledge on The Scarlet Letter during the show, Kibby’s sober coach Julian advises her to take some classes and expand her knowledge.
Kibby thinks she doesn’t have time but Julian reminds her that she only has to do the show for a couple of hours a day.
Anna is having a hard time fitting in.
During the meeting, Anna gets on Kibby’s nerves when she takes shots at her lack of knowledge. Kibby fires back and tells her she’s going to college.
After the meeting wraps up, Maxine tells Anna she needs to work on getting along with the rest of the panel. Anna reminds her that she doesn’t really have to since she has job security.
Anna forces Nina to her breaking point.
Heather’s husband Brad comes on the show to promote his latest project, and he and Heather act hot and heavy for each other despite really having a rocky marriage.
Anna then brings back up Nina having an affair with Shawn and some women being married to men they aren’t really compatible with. Nina gets upset and walks off the set.
She tells Shawn that she won’t return to the show until Anna is kicked off.
Kibby has an awkward first day of school.
During class, Kibby is called out by her teacher for being on the phone during class. After she takes some selfies with a few classmates, she explains that she’s a celebrity.
He’s never heard of her before because he doesn’t watch TV.
After he asks her how to help her adjust, they end up sleeping together.
Shawn clashes with Maxine.
Shawn confronts Maxine about Anna, and he tells her that Nina won’t return unless Anna gets the boot. But Maxine lets him know that her own career comes first.
“Let me break it down for you. You and Nina put my show in jeopardy! You thought with your d*ck and now I’m thinking with mine.” – Maxine
This angers Shawn and he calls her a b*tch. She slaps him.
Later, Maxine’s lover William tells her she was wrong and Nina is now her family too.
Maxine later has a sit-down with Nina and asks her to return to the show. She says she will but she needs Anna to stop bringing up Andrew.
Maxine explains that she can’t get rid of Anna for career reasons. Nina says she will find dirt on Anna to push her out and Maxine says she will handle Andrew by forcing him to come to the show.
An alleged photo of Andrew’s “love stick” that he sent to another woman is sent to the media. The narrative then becomes Nina cheated because Andrew had been unfaithful first.
Nina returns to the show but urges Shawn to apologize to Maxine so they can get back in a good place.
Anna is put on the spot.
Nina exposes the fact that Anna had a co-host she stalked because he wouldn’t leave his wife. She snaps during filming and walks off the set.
After Maxine fires her, she threatens to go forward with her book but Maxine isn’t concerned. She angrily leaves the building.
Heather’s son is aware of her rocky marriage.
Heather’s son tells her he likes playing baseball but he wants to play on the girl’s team. But he’s willing to pretend whatever necessary to make his father happy. He then points out that he knows Heather and Brad pretend they are happy all the time even though they aren’t.
After he leaves the bedroom, Heather tells Brad that she’s tired of faking happiness.
Nina tells Andrew come to an understanding.
Nina agrees to deny that it was Andrew’s “love stick” in the photo that was released if he agrees to leave her alone. He agrees and he goes on the show so they can both deny that it is him in the scandalous photos.
Before leaving the set, Andrew warns Shawn and tells him that Nina is a huge liar he’s glad is out of life. When Shawn threatens him, he tells him to ask Nina about the Pulitzer she received.
Kibby ends her quickie romance with her teacher and quits college.
After she finds out that her professor is a bit of a ladies man and flirting with other students, she ends the relationship and decides college just isn’t for her.
Anna’s editor shuts her down.
Now that things went sour at the Lunch Hour, Anna’s editor tells her that no one is going to take her book about Maxine seriously. She pulls out.
Kibby comes clean with Julian.
She tells him what happened with her professor and that she sucks in relationships. He tells her that being a recovering addict could be the root of her relationship struggles. Kibby gets angry and makes him leave. Once she is alone, she breaks down in tears.
Maxine angers William.
William reveals that he knew Shawn and Nina were having a baby before Maxine did. She’s frustrated he didn’t tell him but he reminds her that Shawn is like a son.
He gets upset with her for not respecting his relationship with Shawn and tells her to get over herself.
Anna and Phillip go the police to convince them that Maxine killed her husband.
They play audio of Maxine and her husband arguing and tell them she lied on the police report. They say she embellished her timestamps and she was the one who killed him.
When Anna tells the cop that a doorman can back up the fact that Maxine lied about what time she got home the night she discovered her husband’s body, the cop says he will look into it.
Shawn learns the truth about Nina.
Nina tells Shawn that she didn’t write the book she got a Pulitzer for. The journalist who wrote the book died but she stole his work because she wanted the story to be told. Since it’s the reason she was hired on The Lunch Hour, Shawn says she has to tell Maxine.
Nina doesn’t want to come clean and Shawn starts to feel like Andrew was right about her.

That’s what I want to know. Maybe she had to step way to film Survivor’s Remorse. I hope she comes back.
