Young Thug’s also been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Most recently, he’d been investigated for an incident outside an Atlanta nightclub in which he allegedly punched a woman. He’s also had some not so good things to say about black women that work as TSA agents.
Despite all of the negative criticism, mainly from older artists and fans, there are those that support Young Thug.
For instance, Erykah Badu recently commented and liked comments on an Instagram post bashing Young Thug. This post is criticizing Young Thug saying he was the #NewPac after seeing the Biopic, “All Eyez on Me.” Young Thug said the following on Twitter:
I dropped E.B.B.T.G. on 2PAC’S bday because I’m the #NewPac. I feel like I’m the thug he didn’t get to become. #SoImGoinFinishWhatHeStarted
The post generated mostly negative comments, however Erykah Badu came to his defense. Erykah feels that the current generation of artists are talented, and are doing their own thing. She says older artists shouldn’t bash younger artists and should be more open minded.
Check out what Erykah liked and said.
I kind of agree about it’s kind of lame when older people are always bashing newer artists. Let them live. Just support who you do like.
I completely agree with her. Artists need to pick their own lanes and not be pressured to be something they are not. Young Thug is not my cup of tea but I damn sure don’t want him to try to pretend to be pro black. That’s not his lane.
I can respect Erykah’s perspective. I still don’t care for Young Thug though.
I understand and agree with Erykah…but YT needs to get bashed. He was comparing himself to 2pac…which he is not and will never be
