‘Power’ Recap: Tasha Has Had Enough + Kanan Continues to Play Chess

Ghost, Tommy and Kanan meet up.

Tommy hops out the car and tells them that they must find the Jimenez brothers and take them out immediately.

If not, they are going to have some major problems with Jason and the Serbs.

Kanan suggests that Teresi helps since he’s now a free man.

This is news to Ghost who questions why he is just now hearing this. He is even more peeved when he learns Proctor knows and Tommy had him look into things.

“How long has Proctor known about this?” – Ghost

“A couple days, maybe. But let’s deal with the real problem here. The Jimenez, not Tony.” – Tommy

An angry Ghost then asks Kanan to step away so he can have a private conversation with Tommy.

Kanan doesn’t like the fact that he was asked to allow them to talk alone but Ghost assures him that they are all still working together to take out Dre and get things right with Jason.

So Kanan gives Tommy and Ghost time to talk although he can still hear most of the conversation from where he’s standing thanks to Ghost talking loudly.

The purpose of Kanan mentioning Teresi being out of prison was to cause more friction between Ghost and Tommy. When his face is out of the view of Tommy and Ghost, he smirks knowing that he’s succeeding in driving a wedge between them.

Ghost asks Tommy what Teresi knows about their dealings and Tommy says Teresi doesn’t know anything.

“Well keep it that way. I agreed to clean your money, again. And we gotta kill the leaders of a f*cking cartel. We can’t tell anything to Teresi that he could use against us.” – Ghost

“Ghost, I ain’t gonna tell him sh*t. But he wouldn’t do that to us anyway. He’s family.” – Tommy

“This motherf*cker blackmailed me twice. You got amnesia? You got a short memory? I know what he’s capable of doing to us. Besides, he’s been your f*cking family for 15 minutes. I been your family your whole g***amn life.” – Ghost

Tommy says the situation is under control and Ghost, who is now irritated even more, tells Tommy to let him know when the Jimenez situation has been handled since he has so much confidence.

Ghost has to end the conversation when he gets a phone call from Councilman Tate. He’s attending a fundraiser event later.

Soon after, Tommy  proceeds to make his way back to his car.

“I’ll find the Jimenez my g***amn self.” – Tommy

He pulls off.

Angela is ready to move on Alicia and Diego.

Donovan brings by the files from Blanca on Ray Ray’s murder to Angela’s office.

He questions where she is at with the investigation and Angela tells him “it’s ongoing.”

Blanca comes up and Donovan tells Angela that she said she believes Angela is “hiding something.”

Angela chuckles at this and says they will never have to deal with her again. After Donovan leaves, Angela locks the files away. She sends Tasha a text telling her the case has been shut down. Tasha thanks her.

She then gets a text from Steve telling her he can’t stop thinking about the other night. She smiles as she heads to her meeting.

At the meeting, Angela reveals that Alicia is Diego’s sister.

They also have warrants for the arrest of both for multiple charges.

But Mak questions if the siblings are even still in the states.

Angela says that Arturo can tell them where to find the Jimenez brothers. She suspects he is their distro.

She mentions that successfully taking down Diego and Alicia will be a hit for all of them professionally.

With Tommy gone, Kanan and Ghost have a conversation.

Ghost explains that he’s concerned about Teresi using Tommy for information.

“You know how Tommy is. Once somebody gets in his head, he can’t think straight.” – Ghost

Kanan reveals that Tommy worries that Teresi might be a snitch. Ghost says Tommy says he has everything under control.

“Tommy has a daddy now. Sh*t’s better than having a new puppy. We should drop that motherf*cker.” – Kanan

Ghost says it’s too risky to kill Teresi because Tommy would find out.

Instead Ghost says they have to figure out how to get the Italians to shut the door on Tommy without it getting Tommy hurt.

He says he has a plan and it will make Tommy dangerous to the mob.

But he will make sure no one gets hurt. Especially Tommy.

They dap on it.

Teresi takes Tommy to his father’s gravesite. His father’s name was Francesco Teresi. He tells Tommy the story of how his mother and father fell in love. Apparently Francesco was engaged to someone when he met Teresi’s mother. He was bound to a wheelchair after an attack and Teresi’s mother, Giulia, was his nurse.

When Francesco’s girlfriend decided to leave him instead of be his support system since he was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, he began a romance with Giulia.

Francesco died young and Teresi joined “the family” to make sure his mother lived the lifestyle she deserved after Francesco’s death.

He spent most of his first checks on buying tombstones for his parents. He has room left for him and Connie. He wants to make sure he goes all out for her grave and sees to it that she’s taken care of to the end.

Tommy says he will make sure they do just that.

Dre voices his concerns about Diego to Alicia.

While on the phone with Quinn discussing the event budget from the launch party, Dre gets a surprise visit from Alicia.

She’s flirty with him.

He tries to keep it professional and updates her on the international business.

Dre tells her that Diego has a $60,000 tab at the club.

“And pretty soon, no creative accounting is gonna make any of the books balance.” – Dre

Alicia is also told that some of the bottle girls have quit because Diego is too aggressive when he’s in the club.

Quinn, who happens to be one of Karen Bassett’s managers, is beginning to notice this as well.

“Well, it appears we need to find a solution. You’ll get instructions soon.” – Alicia

Ghost goes off on Tasha.

Back at the penthouse, Ghost awakens Tasha from a deep slumber. He calls her out for taking sleeping pills that were prescribed by the doctor.

He tells her to get ready for the fundraiser event at Truth.

However, Tasha tells him she’s not going. She’s too tired and still grieving Raina’s death.

“I just can’t play the perfect wife tonight.” – Tasha

This sets Ghost off who calls her selfish before storming out.

An upset Tasha is in shock and left hurt by his comments.

Teresi reunites with the family.

The family welcomes Teresi back with open arms. They celebrate and even have a banner hanging up in his honor at the resturant.

Vincent introduces him as a legend in the family.

Teresi gives a speech and says he never turned on the family. He never thought he was going to get out and he’s thankful that the family has stood by him, Connie and now Tommy.

Everyone toasts to this.

A younger member of the family tells Vincent they believe Teresi snitched. But Vincent doubts this and says that even if Teresi did snitch, most of the people he could have snitched on are dead anyway.

Ghost has a meltdown and places blame on Tasha.

Ghost arrives to the fundraiser event. When he gets there, he immediately goes to the bartender, and demands that no one in there goes without a drink.

The bartender tells Ghost everything has been handled and Ghost gets frustrated and bangs his fists on the bar, telling the bartender to “go over everything again.”

Tate and a potential investor notice this. So the councilman makes his way over to Ghost to ask why Tasha isn’t there. Ghost says Tasha couldn’t make it and Tate says that he will make her speech instead. Ghost says he’s up for the task himself, but Tate says that Ghost should just stick to the nightclub thing. He wants them to make up the money they lost from losing Linda.

He ends the conversation to continue small talk with investors. A couple tells Tate they heard Ghost has been an issue and even caused a major investor to drop out. But Tate assures them that there’s no truth to the rumors and he trusts Ghost with his life.

Ghost then takes it upon himself to try to make the speech anyway. He hops on the stage and starts thanking everyone for coming out. But he hallucinates and imagines seeing Raina in the crowd. Unable to finish his speech, he hops off the stage and walks towards who he believes is Raina. It turns out to be the young daughter of a potential investor instead.

She is rattled by Ghost’s behavior and he freezes, embarrassed by his actions as everyone looks on, including Tate.

So he abruptly leaves.

The next morning, Ghost gets a call from Dan, the account manager for the Queens Child Project. He says that the total from the fundraiser is in. They are about 40 percent short from their goal.

Ghost assures Dan that he has some private money that should make things right.

Tasha walks in to check on him as he has another drink.

She asks how it went last night and he tells her about his public meltdown.

“I thought she was there.” – Ghost

“I see her everyday.” – Tasha

After he explains how everything played out and how if feels to finally realize that Raina is really gone, he then points out his meltdown would have never happened if Tasha came to the event and did her speech.

On the way out of the room, he intentionally bumps into Tasha’s shoulder with his own, frustrating Tasha.

Tate has a meeting with Dre.

He tries to convince Dre to become the face of The Queens Child Project since Ghost is too unstable at the moment. Tate feels like the fact that Dre came from the streets and became a legitimate business man is an inspiring story. Dre isn’t interested but Tate tells him to never underestimate the value in having a great public image.

Dre scoffs at this and walks out the office.

Tasha confides in her mother Estelle about her issues with Ghost. Tasha’s mother thinks Tasha needs to have more patience because losing a child has been tough for Ghost.

But Tasha feels she’s had Ghost’s back during a lot of trying times. Now it’s time for her to have her own back.

She wants to start a new life but her mother is convinced this is about Tasha wanting to be with Silver.

“Who was that man that you were hugged up on at Raina’s funeral?” – Estelle

“No. This is about Ghost. No one else.” – Tasha

Proctor is spending some time with his daughter and making her pancakes.

They get a surprise visit from her mother, who has struggled with drug addiction.

She tells Proctor she wants to make amends for all the pain she’s caused them both. She’s been clean for thirty days and she plans on prepping for the Bar exam, again. She wants to get joint custody back.

After their daughter goes upstairs to allow them to talk alone, Proctor tells her that he will never let her have joint custody ever again.

But she reminds Proctor that he’s getting ready to lose his law license. Once she leaves, he looks into paperwork on Teresi’s release. He sees that Mak is on the form.

He texts Ghost and says they need to meet.

Teresi tries to make his move on Tommy.

While still hanging out with Teresi, Tommy has another hostile phone conversation with Jason. He tells Jason he needs a little more time and Jason hangs up on him.

Teresi asks if there’s anything he and the family can do to help Tommy.

But Tommy tells Teresi he has everything under control.

Angela and Medina interrogate Arturo.

They taunt him about not serving any real time besides a two week stint in juvie.

He is questioned about Uriel’s death and told he could get the death penalty.

Arturo then admits he didn’t kill Uriel. But he won’t be off the hook until he gives up information on Alicia and Diego.

Arturo cracks and gives up Diego and Alicia’s whereabouts after proclaiming that he’s not their New York distro.

He tells them that Alicia is leaving to head back to Mexico.

Proctor and Ghost meet.

Ghost calls Proctor out on not telling him that Teresi was released. Proctor says he wanted to say something sooner but Tommy scares him.

He also tells Ghost that the reason for their meeting is that it looks as if Mak is behind Teresi getting out.

“That motherf*cker, again?” – Ghost

After Proctor says that Tommy can’t tell Teresi anything that can expose all of them, Ghost goes off and says Proctor only cares about himself.

“That’s bullsh*t, James. When have I not shown up for you? When you got shot, who did you call? Me. See, we are a team right now, whether you like it or not. We can’t slip up. Not with Teresi or anyone.” – Proctor

He tells Ghost that he’s going to keep a close eye on the situation.

“But you have to play it safe. You can’t be in anything illegal. Especially now with f*cking Tommy.” – Proctor

Silver helps Tasha and her daughter Yas get settled in their hotel.

He tells her it’s best she leaves Ghost because it appears Mak won’t stop until he gets Proctor and Ghost.

“Proctor, too? We’re all in danger.” – Tasha

Silver tells Tasha she’s not in danger as long as she stays away from Ghost.

They caress.

Angela arrests Alicia and Diego.

Cristobal and Dre meet up with Diego and Alicia at their jet spot.

Alicia is preparing to head back to Mexico for some business.

Diego hands over $60,000 to Dre to cover his tab. She forces him to apologize.

She tells Dre that the clubs are all his from now on and Diego won’t be allowed to interfere. But she wants the club in Paris to be “locked down.” Dre happily agrees to this.

Next, she tells Dre to show Cristobal how to operate the books in the clubs. Dre says there’s no need for this but Alicia insists this happens so Cristobal can run things as they expand even more.

“It is necessary. There’s no sense having a lieutenant if you’re not gonna use him. Think.” – Alicia

Tommy watches all of this from a distance.

He hops in his car and leaves as he sees Dre and Cristobal leaving. Dre is upset that Cristobal will be running the clubs now. But Cristobal says he has no choice but to do what he is told.

As they are driving away, Dre and Cristobal watch multiple FBI vehicles pulling up. Angela and the others hop out to arrest Diego and Alicia.

Angela tells Alicia, “Got you now, b*tch,” in Spanish as Alicia walks by in handcuffs. Alicia gets her a glance as she is escorted into the vehicle.

When they get back to the department, they all clap and cheer Angela for her work. Mak gives her props.

As Angela is preparing to interrogate Alicia, Steve arrives and tells her that no one from the FBI will be allowed to interrogate Alicia.

“I’m going to speak to Alicia now.” – Steve

“I’m going with you!” – Angela

“No, you’re not. Make sure I’m not being monitored.” – Steve

“Medina, what the h*ll is this?” – Angela

When Steve gets into the interrogation office, Alicia asks if he’s there to release her and cover it up.

She explains that he kind of has to.

“Well, after we absorbed most of Lobos’ territory, near the Mexican border, we now control the region. No gang wars, no coyotes smuggling people across the border, everything happening on our watch.” – Alicia

Alicia and Steve agree that she and Diego are “too big to fail.”

Steve tells her he’d love nothing more than to take her and Diego down, but his superiors said that the two of them must be let go.

She then tells him to just let her go and keep Diego.

It’s revealed that she’s the one who planted Diego’s gold gun at the scene of the Cruz couple’s murders.

Alicia wanted him to be caught and arrested.

“You tried to set him up.” – Steve

“If you are tracking us, then you already know my brother is a risk to us both. Keep Diego.” – Alicia

“I can’t arrest him. He’s the face of your cartel. You want your brother gone, you do it yourself.” – Steve

After he ends his conversation with Alicia, he tells Angela and Tamieka that he can’t give them much information on the organization he is working for.

Angela is furious.

Not too long after, Angela confronts Steve alone. He tells her she doesn’t have enough evidence to lock up Diego and Alicia. Angela disagrees with this and asks what Steve is really up to.

She questions if he’s being paid off by the Jimenez and if the time they shared together was even real.

Steve says he really does care for her and didn’t have to sleep with her to get the information he already had.

“I’m sorry you got hurt, but I have to do my job.” – Steve

On the way back from the time with the feds, Alicia tells Diego that he was sloppy to leave his gun behind. She says he must have been high on drugs.

She then tells him that she’s going to Mexico and while she’s away, he needs to do right by Dre.

Diego asks why Dre is so important to her and Alicia says he’s been expanding their business rapidly.

“You ruin everything you touch.” – Alicia

Back in her office, Angela gets another text from Steve. She almost curses him out in response, but decides to ignore him instead.

She sees some files on her desk and opens up the folder to see that Mak and Saxe have placed a tracker on Tommy’s car.

Dre has a plan.

Later on, Dre tells Cristobal they should close up the “store” until things cool down.

Cristobal is convinced it’s completely dead because Alicia and Diego were arrested. But Dre says the feds didn’t move on them yet.

“They got the big fish. They don’t care about us. If they needed us to get Alicia and Diego, they would have us already.” – Dre

“Think about it, man. Now we have a rat.” – Cristobal

With the arrests of Diego and Alicia, Cristobal says they are now vulnerable to another attack by Ghost, Kanan and Tommy.

Dre says that’s not the case and to drop him off somewhere.

Back at Proctor’s place, the fed barge in to check his place for evidence of the disappearance of homeland security officer Bailey Markham Tommy killed there.

They tell him that his place is the last traceable place Bailey was.

Daryl Gaines meet with Blanca in her office.

He’s on suspension and not sure why. Blanca tells him she has theory it has to do with someone using his login.

“Who else knows your password, Daryl?”- Blanca

Tasha has had enough.

When Ghost arrives back to the penthouse, he sees Tasha’s mother Estelle and Yas with suitcases packed up. He questions what’s going on but Estelle tells him not to make things even harder.

He scoffs and finds Tasha in the closet grabbing her things.

She tells him she wants out because she can’t keep grieving Raina’s death on her own.

Ghost says she’s grieving too but Tasha doesn’t buy this.

“You think just because you build some tower with Raina’s name on it that you’ve been grieving her?” – Tasha

She says Ghost is using the project to keep from dealing with any real pain.

“Okay, I’m f*cking sorry I can’t deal with the loss of my daughter the way you want me to.” – Ghost

“That’s just it, Ghost. You’re not dealing with it at all! You’e shutting everybody out. Worst of all, her.” – Tasha

Tasha tells him that if he doesn’t deal with the pain of Raina’s death, he’ll never see the beauty in her life and she’ll always be this “thing” that was taken from him instead of the gift that they had.

When Ghost says she’s just running out on him, she goes off.

“I’m not leaving you, Ghost. You left me. A long time ago. Remember that? You left all of us.” – Tasha

Ghost says that was the past and Tasha tells him she told Tariq everything about their past.

At this point, Ghost tries to grab her arm and calm her down but Tasha says she wants out of their marriage.

“I need some space.” – Tasha

“You don’t mean what you’re saying, Tasha.” – Ghost

He changes his tune as he sees her placing her clothes in her duffle bag.

“Fine, you wanna leave me? I don’t need you. You can’t help me. You can’t help the QC. Can’t help our kids.” – Ghost

“Oh, I got our kids. And I got myself. All you got is what you always had. You.” – Tasha

She storms out with her things.

Kanan makes a chess move, Dre outsmarts Ghost, again.

Kanan is out and gets a text message from Tommy. Tommy tells him to pick him up after he meets Vincent at Bamonte’s around 11:30. He is ready to handle the Jimenez. Kanan agrees. He then tells two of his associates that they will implement their plan. He hands them two guns and blanks. Confused by why they won’t be able to shoot anyone if shot at, Kanan says that they are only supposed to be scaring their targets.

“If y’all do this sh*t right, y’all will be long gone before they know what happened. Just scare them a little bit. It’s what we need to get to the connect.” – Kanan

His associates agree to their orders.

Proctor comforts Mak and Saxe for raiding his place. He says he has no idea what happened to Bailey. Mak says he better be telling the truth because if not, he’s going down.

“If you keep messing with me, I’m going to file harassment charges.” – Proctor

After Proctor walks away, Mak says he’s not going to stop until he gets Proctor to give up information on Tommy, Angela and Ghost.

Ghost has another meeting with Tate.

When he walks into the boardroom, he sees Dre there, thanking everyone for allowing him to become the face for the Queens Child Project.

An angry Ghost plays it off and congratulates Dre.

He tells Tate he will never forget that he orchestrated this.

“It’s an honor to have you on this board. And thank you Councilman Tate for bringing us together. Trust me, I wont’ forget it.” – Ghost

As Tommy, Sammy and Vincent are leaving the restaurant, Kanan tells his guys to make their move. His associates decide to put real bullets in the guns instead of using blanks, as Kanan asked.

Kanan’s associates pull up and start shooting at them, firing real bullets. Tommy and the Italians start shooting back.

As he hears the guns going off,  Kanan pulls up and hops out the car. He starts shooting and kills his two associates.

Vincent and Tommy run up on Kanan and Tommy begs Vincent not to kill Kanan. He tells Vincent that Kanan was not with the two shooters.

He explains that Kanan was meeting him there. Tommy says he has no idea who was shooting at them.

Kanan is invited to the restaurant to talk to Vincent.

Vincent asks who is after Tommy. Kanan tells Vincent that it was the dope boys Tommy had dealings with and they were trying to even the score.

“That was for Tommy.” – Kanan

Vincent says he was told by Sammy and Tommy that the situation was taken care of. But Kanan says they lied to Vincent.

“He and Sammy swore to me that sh*t was over. That’s a shame.” – Vincent

Kanan’s attempt to create more chaos is successful as Vincent is visibly not happy.

Teresi comes clean to Connie.

Back at the house, Teresi gets another call from Mak. He tells Mak that he hasn’t been out long enough to have any information on Tommy just yet.

After he ends the call, Connie asks what is going on.

Teresi finally admits that he got out from prison because he agreed to snitch on Tommy so the feds can finally take down Ghost. He says he’s only doing this to be with her during her final days of life.

“I wanted to see you without looking through glass.” – Teresi

She’s not okay with this but Teresi says it’s not a big deal because he’s not snitching on the Italians.

But she warns him that doing this to Tommy will not sit well with the family because he’s technically still being a snitch.

He tells her not to worry because the family won’t find out.

Tommy comes by in a panic and tells Teresi about the shootout.

Connie listens on in the kitchen. Tommy tells Teresi that he thinks the shooters were after him and not the family. Teresi begs Tommy to let him help.

Ghost calls Tommy’s phone and he ignores the call.

“Tell me what’s going on.” – Teresi

The scene ends before Tommy can answer.

Back at Blanca’s office, she’s still putting information together regarding Ray Ray’s murder and Angela’s actions.

She has a hidden crime board with pictures and information hanging up about Ray Ray, Angela, Ghost and his family.

It’s clear that she’s getting closer to the truth.

Tasha is settling in at her hotel room. She still has a picture hanging up of her and Ghost and the kids during happier times.

As he enters the empty penthouse, Ghost leaves a voicemail for Tommy urging him to call back. He saw Dre and they need to talk.

Not too long after, he gets a phone call from Angela and asks her where they can meet.

They meet up at a bar.

He asks her why she took so long returning his calls.

“I’m here now.”

He also asks if she’s okay and she shakes her head no. She asks is he’s doing okay and he shakes his head no.

When the waitress comes by to ask what they want, they just stare at each other and say nothing.
