‘Power’ Recap: Tariq Goes off on Ghost + Tommy Confronts Tariq

Vincent forces Teresi to make a decision.

Tommy and Sammy are waiting for Vincent at the family’s restaurant. Tommy is unsure of why they were called there and Sammy is snarky with him.

“Well, whatever it is, I’m not covering your a*s again, you understand?” – Sammy

When Vincent arrives, he has Teresi and some of the rest of the family with him. Everyone exchanges greeting and hugs.

Vincent gets right into it and says he’s been thinking about the shootout from the other day. He doesn’t feel things are adding up.

“Anything you two wanna tell me?” – Vincent

Sammy looks at Tommy and Tommy then admits that he believes Dre is behind it. Tommy confirms that Dre is the guy Tommy lied to Vincent about handling.

“You could have told me about it before. I could’ve helped you handle it.” – Vincent

Angry with what has transpired, Vincent then has Tommy and Sammy forced to the floor on their knees.

He tells Teresi he must take a gun and kill one of the two. When Teresi expresses his discomfort with the orders, Vincent then says he will kill all three of them if Teresi doesn’t make a decision.

One of Vincent’s henchmen then cocks a gun, making it clear that Vincent means what he says.

Teresi then takes the gun from Vincent and aims it at Sammy.

“I’m sorry.” – Teresa

Teresi pulls the trigger, but the gun just clicks and no bullet leaves it.

Apparently this was just a test, but it’s clear that Sammy is hurt to know that Teresi would kill him and spare Tommy.

As Vincent prepares to end the meeting, he tells Teresi, Sammy and Tommy that although they will remain in the family, they are no longer included in the family’s business affairs. They are all now responsible for their own finances. Vincent also tells Tommy that he won’t be needing a re-up.

This outrages Sammy and he attacks Tommy.

“You f*cking mutt, you f*cking mutt! There’s been chaos since you came around!” – Sammy

But Teresi cools him down and tells Tommy to go so he can talk to Sammy alone.

“You were gonna shoot me? You don’t even know him.” – Sammy

Meanwhile, Ghost picked Tariq up from Choate so he can have a birthday dinner with the family.

Tariq would have preferred his family just called him and wished him a happy birthday instead.

Ghost tells Tariq that Tasha needed him at home.

“Son, you’ve never been away for your birthday and this ain’t the year to start.” – Ghost

They then talk about the conversation Tasha had with Tariq. Ghost says that what Tasha told Tariq was just her version of the truth.

“She’s hurting right now, so she’s saying things she don’t really mean. She’s not herself, so you have to take everything with a grain of salt, whatever she says. ” – Ghost

He tells Tariq he’ll give him his version of events when Tariq is older.

“You never talk about where you come from.” – Tariq

“It’s complicated. Really irrelevant.” – Ghost

Ghost says that it’s just important that Tariq knows that Ghost wants to give him the life and childhood he never had.

He also wants to protect Tariq from the things that people didn’t protect him from.

Tasha has a painful reminder of Raina’s death.

Tasha meets Terry Silver at a bakery. She’s getting Tariq a birthday cake.

Silver wants her to leave her hotel and stay at his place with Yas. She tells him she can’t do that because Tariq is home from Choate for his birthday. She also hasn’t told Tariq she moved out yet. Silver understands, but once again warns her to stay away from Ghost because Ghost is in some serious trouble.

The cashier recognizes her and asks if she’s getting her usual, two different cakes for Raina and Tariq.

This makes Tasha tear up and she tells the cashier that she’s only getting one cake this year.

Silver consoles her.

Tameika has her concerns about Angela.

Angela runs into Tameika and tells her that Mak and Saxe have reactivated the tracker on Tommy’s car.

“I think they’re up to something that I’m not privy to that I should be as Head of Criminal.” – Angela

Tameika says Angela is right and she will handle them.

Both walk into their meeting.

Mak, Saxe and Donovan are there waiting. Tameika tells them she’s proud of how close they came to taking down the Jimenez but they must move on.

Angela doesn’t want to do this and says that she has enough evidence to hook them for an trafficking case.

But Tameika stands firm and says they must move on because Steve said so.

“Steve Tampio is compromised.” – Angela

“He’s backed by the DOJ. Your job as Head of Criminal is as much about politics as it is about justice. And I’ve assured the attorney general that we will be moving on. Is that understood?” – Tameika

She then excuses Angela out so she can have a conversation with Mak, Saxe and Donovan.

Tameika tells Saxe and Mak that she needs something solid from Teresi by the end of the week or she’s pulling the plug.

“Angela knows about that tracker.” – Tameika

“Jesus. She’s going to blow our whole case now, isn’t she?” – Mak

“No offense Tameika, but you got her all wrong.” – Saxe

“We’ll get you something. End of day.” – Mak

After Mak and Saxe leave, Tameika asks Donovan if she really got Angela all wrong.

He tells her that Angela asked her to take evidence away from Blanca.

Sammy and Teresi talk more about what just went down with Vincent.

Teresi claims he felt that the gun was light so he went along with everything. But Sammy says he’s more concerned with how he’s supposed to make money now. But Teresi says not to worry because snitching on Tommy will help them both.

He explains that the feds want Ghost more than anything. When Sammy asks if Teresi thinks Tommy will snitch on Ghost, Terms says he better because he “almost killed” Sammy for him.

Tommy gives Ghost and Kanan a recap of what happened with Vincent.

“It was a fake-out.” – Tommy

After telling them what went down, he confirms that the Italians are done with him on a business level.

When he says he’s not sure that Dre was the one who shot at them, both Ghost and Kanan assure him that it was.

“It was definitely that n*gga.” – Kanan

Tommy says he’s lucky that Vincent was just shot in the arm and no one got killed. Ghost then shoots a look at Kanan as if he had no idea that the plan resulted in Vincent getting shot. Tommy also says that Kanan saved everyone’s life by showing up when he did.

Annoyed at this point, Ghost asks why they are meeting. Tommy says he wanted to discuss the Jimenez.

“Dre’s a*s gets dropped today.” – Tommy

Ghost says that can’t happen because he’s now working with Dre through Councilman Tate on the Queens Child Project.

He explains that killing Dre now would make him a suspect immediately by Tate. Tommy says that he has to do something to make things right with Teresi because Teresi chose Tommy over Sammy.

“Well that’s the other sh*t I don’t get. Why would he do that?” – Ghost

Tommy says that Teresi did what he did because they are father and son. He gets irritated with Ghost and says he could have taken Dre out already but Ghost wouldn’t allow it because he was on this “Teresi sh*t.”

He tells Ghost that if they get rid of the Jimenez, they won’t have to deal with Teresi or each other again.

“You don’t believe that. Here’s your check, Tommy. Clean money. When you’re around him, forget you know me, okay?” – Ghost

“Be like a dream come true.” – Tommy

Before walking out, Ghost asks if Tommy is coming to Tariq’s birthday dinner. Tommy says he will be there.

Kanan tells Tommy that Ghost is “always moving the ball.”

“Maybe the best way to get Dre is to push him out of his own organization.” – Kanan

He’s thinking that they need to make Cristobal and Dre have even more friction. And with Cristobal being the head of the Tainos, they can help that beef along since Cristobal has been over shining Dre with Jimenez.

“Nah. Even if we did, now we need Ghost to get the drop on Dre.” – Tommy

“Man, Ghost got you thinking you can’t do nothing without him.” – Kanan

On the way out, Kanan tells Tommy to hit him up when he wants to talk about expansion and the Jimenez. He smirks as he walks out, proud his plan to drive a wedge between Tommy and Ghost is still working.

Tameika stops by Angela’s office to give her an update on Mak and Saxe.

“Mak and Saxe came to me because they suspected Egan was still trafficking drugs. I gave permission for surveillance.  I kept you out the loop because I can’t trust that you’d reman objective. ” – Tameika

“What do they have on Egan?” – Angela

Tameika then says that they couldn’t find anything on Tommy. She will have them turn off the tracker.

“You knew they were running an investigation behind my back? That undermines my authority, Tameika.” – Angela

“I hired you knowing your weaknesses, and I have to manage them. And what’s the status on the NYPD dirty cop case Donovan told me about?” – Tameika

Angela apologizes for the secrecy and says she didn’t want to bring Tameika in on it because she wanted to be sure it had legs.

Tameika stresses that how they win cases is very important. She wants Angela to be ethical. She asks Angela if the case is only about dirty cops and Angela says that it the case.

Ghost and Stern meet with Dre and Tate.

Stern expresses that he sees no need in Dre being the face of the project because they already have a “black” on their team with the same background.

Tate says that Dre relates to younger people more because he’s younger. Ghost says he’s irreplaceable and Stern reminds Tate that he’s been donating money to the project so his opinion matters.

Regardless, Tate says that it’s his decision to make and Dre is who will be the face of the project.

Stern accepts this.

After they end the meeting, Ghost asks Stern why he’s not fighting more to help him remove Dre. Stern reminds Ghost that Ghost knows how to deal with obstacles and to get to it.

Kanan exits a corner store. He runs into a junkie named Laces (played by Kendrick Lamar).

Laces tries to sell Kanan gift cards in exchange for drugs. Kanan gets irritated and tells Laces to get lost.

Not willing to take rejection, Laces then offers Kanan a bike with the gift cards for $20.

He tells Kanan that the Spanish won’t allow anyone to have anything. Hearing about the “Spanish” grabs Kanan’s interest. He’s been wanting to get close to the Tainos, Cristobal’s gang.

So he takes the bike and hands Laces $20. He then asks Laces if he knows any Tainos. Laces smiles.

Laces identifies one Tainos member as he is walking to his car. He tries to offer him gift cards. The man accepts and throws the cash on the ground. Kanan then rolls up on his new bike and shoots the gang member dead as Laces looks on. Laces then begins to rob the dead man and does the tootsie roll after Kanan says he can take the deceased gang member’s wallet and shoes.

Ghost and Angela meet up at a sneaker store.

She tells him she thought seeing him would be a one time thing. But Ghost says he needs help buying Tariq sneakers for doing well at Choate.

Angie asks him if he’s still working with Dre. He says he’s working wth Dre on the Queens Child Project, temporarily.

He assures her that he doesn’t sell drugs anymore.

Realizing that she could be starting up again wth Ghost by seeing him a second time, Angie tells Ghost that she can’t get sucked back in.

A relationship will not work.

Ghost then mentions that it’s Raina and Tariq’s birthday. Angie forgot and apologizes for not remembering.

She then gets phone call from work and they agree she should leave to get back to the office.

Teresi meets with Mak and Saxe at the hospital during one of Connie’s chemo treatments.

They tell him they need some major intel on Tommy before the day is over. If not, everyone will know he’s a snitch. Teresi tells them that Tommy has a beef with Dre. But they need something more concrete, especially on Ghost. Teresi isn’t worried and says he will have it.

Angela calls up Proctor and tells him to do her a favor if he wants to be a lawyer again.

Ghost outsmarts Dre.

Dre has a meeting with Quinn and is surprised to see Ghost there.

Apparently he never told his boss Karen Bassett that he signed a non compete clause when he worked at Truth. So he is terminated so they won’t get sued by Ghost.

This royally angers Dre, although it leaves Ghost delighted.

On his way out, Ghost tells Dre that since he’s been fired, the fundraiser event will now be held at Truth.

Angela makes Tommy an offer.

Tommy meets up with Proctor.

As they discuss how things are going with Teresi, Angela then pulls up.

Tommy feels like he was set up.

She tells Tommy she has reason to believe he’s the New York distro for the Jimenez.

Proctor says that Tommy is not involved. He warns Tommy not to say anything. But Angela threatens to link Tommy and Ghost to the Jimenez if Tommy doesn’t give her intel.

But Tommy says he doesn’t work with Ghost anymore. Angela says that he can’t deny that he’s working with the Jimenez.

Angela says the DOJ is onto them and Tommy questions how he supposed to know that she’s telling the truth.

She then walks to his car and removes the tracker.

He is shocked.

“That’s illegal, Angela.” – Proctor

“There’s a warrant for this.” – Angela

She holds the tracker up and smirks. She tells Tommy she can give him immunity and he can walk away from everything clean.

“Think about it.” – Angela

Angela then walks off.

Proctor tells Tommy he should consider Angela’s offer but he says he shouldn’t have to if Proctor keeps his mouth shut.

It’s the night of another fundraiser. The event is being held at Truth.

Ghost is disgusted when he walks into the club and spots Dre with Councilman Tate.

Tate tells Ghost that he heard about Dre’s firing. However, he’s still the face of the Queen Child’s Project. Plus, Dre can find a new employer there.

Angry as much as possible, Ghost says he wants Dre out of the club.

After the conversation ends, Simon walks up to Ghost and tells him to have patience. He believes Ghost will outsmart Dre in the end since he created him.

“We’ll get him.” – Stern

He gets a text message from Tasha who tells him that Tariq’s birthday dinner is starting. She wonders if he picked up the birthday cake. Ghost reads the messages but doesn’t respond. He grabs a drink and begins to get a little wonky.

Tommy confronts Tariq.

At the dinner, Keisha asks Tariq how he likes Choate. He says it’s cool but he’s still trying to get used to it.

Tasha sends a text to Silver letting him know Ghost never showed up to dinner with the cake.

He tells her he will handle this.

Tariq gets a “what’s up n*gga” text from Kanan and chuckles.

Keisha then asks what is Tariq’s favorite class. He says it is Philosophy. Tommy then quotes Socrates.

“The only thing that I know is that I know nothing at all.” – Tommy

Realizing Ghost probably isn’t going to show, Tommy then tells Tariq he has a present for him downstairs.

They get in his car and Tommy allows Tariq to drive. He says it’s his first time driving because he’s too young to get his license.

After the ride, Tommy asks Tariq if he’s the one who warned Dre that they had people coming for him.

“You overheard me tell your dad about Dre.” – Tommy

Tariq admits he did.

He tells Tariq that him helping Dre led to him almost being killed in a drive by. Tommy says he’s probably going to end up dead or in prison because he’s in deep trouble. He has to figure it out soon or it’s a wrap for him. Tariq asks why Tommy wants Dre dead. Tommy says that Dre stole his entire business. Dre tried to kill Kanan. And killed his friend who happened to be a priest. Tommy also says that Dre sent Tariq to a shootout with a cop.

“Now you didn’t know all that. But you did know that Dre was our enemy. Why did you snitch Riq?” – Tommy

“Cause he helped me get my enemy.” – Tariq

He explains that he feels he did the right thing because Dre told him Ray Ray’s location.

“Loyal only to your own cause. You sound exactly like Ghost.” – Tommy

“I did the right thing, Uncle Tommy.” – Tariq

“Remember Socrates, Riq. You don’t know nothin.” – Tommy

He hands Tariq the keys and tells him to drive them back home.

Laces is talking to another Tainos member. He tries to explain to him that he feels they are all the same, regardless of their race. Not buying this, the Tainos member loses interest in the conversation. That is when Kanan arrives and shoots him dead on sight, splattering blood on Laces.

Blanca makes an appearance at the penthouse.

Silver arrives to the penthouse with a birthday cake.

Tasha’s mother Estelle tells him he’s very well dressed “for a delivery man.”

Tasha introduces Silver as a friend.

Not too long after, Blanca and the NYPD arrive to the penthouse.

They tell Tasha that they are looking for her gun. That’s the only way they can eliminate her from the investigation. They have a lead on Raina’s killer.

Silver steps up to look at the warrant.

Tasha says the gun was stolen and she reported it as missing.

Before they can search the house anyway, Silver points out that they brought a seizure warrant for a routine evidence check against the victim’s family. He says he is Tasha’s lawyer.

Blanca confirms that Tasha’s gun was reported stolen. This makes the NYPD back off and retreat. Blanca smirks on the elevator.

Laces gets some food for helping Kanan. As they talk about trying to be vegans and chicken nuggets, Kanan cocks the gun and prepares to shoot Laces in the back of the head.

But he changes his mind after Laces asks who Kanan is. Kanan removes the bullets and hands him the gun to sell for cash.

He then suggests Kanan has no friends and struggles to connect with other humans. Laces asks if Kanan is sad and feeling empty. He also asks if it’s hard for Kanan to be there for people he loves. Kanan doesn’t answer but ponders all of it over. Laces then says that Cymbalta can help with these issues since it’s used to treat depression. After he then lists all the “side effects,” Kanan gets annoyed and tells Laces to get lost.

Laces giggles and walks away.

Back at the penthouse, Silver calls out Tasha for lying to the police about her gun being stolen.

He tells her he watched her put her gun in the safe.

Silver asks if Ghost used that gun to murder Raina’s killer.

Tasha then lies and says she killed Raina’s killer with her gun. Silver doesn’t buy this and ask Tasha why she’s still trying to protect Ghost.

Tariq hears her false confession from around the corner.

After Tasha says she did everything all on her own, Silver says she’s lying and she’s going to go down with Ghost if she doesn’t tell the truth. He tells her to call him when she’s ready to tell him the truth. Silver then storms out.

A drunk Ghost crosses the line with Tate.

Ghost is still at the bar at the fundraiser event at truth. He’s still drinking and appears to be intoxicated.

The reverend approaches Ghost and tells him that he hasn’t forgotten about Raina’s death. Ghost says it’s okay because they have reached the fundraising goal.

“I want to encourage you to counsel with me anytime. Goodnight, son.” – Reverend

“I ain’t your son, n*gga.” – Ghost

“Anytime.” – Reverend

Tate and Dre then approach Ghost at the bar.

“Well, we finally did it.” – Tate

“Rashad, I want Andre off the project and out of my motherf*cking sight.” – Ghost

Although Ghost is agitated, Tate questions why he’s he angry since he is getting his returns on his investment and the building will be named after Raina, despite him no longer being the face of the project.

“You get everything you want except the spotlight. Is that all you care about?” – Tate

“He don’t deserve no credit! That kid is trouble. Rashad, he got a record. He’s still slinging dope!” – Ghost

“F*ck this sh*t! I’m outta here!” – Dre

After Dre storms off, Tate tells Ghost that he’s losing it and he needs to take a break.

But Ghost says he feels Dre isn’t worthy of the opportunities he’s getting.

“Time after the, you’ve proven to be nothing but trouble, James. You are unworthy of this job. You’re the one that’s unworthy of this relationship. You’re unworthy.” – Tate

At this moment, Ghost grabs Tate by his collar and slams him on the bar, choking him.

“I’ll f*cking kill you!” – Ghost

“What kind of man would murder over a business dispute?” – Tate

“You ain’t got no f*cking idea who the f*ck I am.” – Ghost

“No, I think I do.” – Tate

“James!” – Stern

Realizing that everyone is watching this go down, Ghost releases Tate.

Tate, who is played by Lorenz Tate, then says the iconic quote from his classic film, “Menace To Society.”

“You know you done f*cked up, right?” – Tate

Ghost then walks out of the event as Stern looks disappointed.

Tasha snaps on Tariq.

Tariq’s dinner is about over.

Tasha’s mother Estelle is upset that the NYPD crashed the party. But Tasha assures her that everything is fine. She wants to move on to cutting Tariq’s birthday cake.

When Tasha opens the cake, everyone sees the devastating message on the cake.

It reads, “Happy Birthday Raina.”

Everyone one is stunned and Tasha is overwhelmed with sadness.

“You ordered the wrong cake, Tasha.” – Estelle

“I know!” – Tasha

Tasha storms off in tears. Tariq gets up and follows her.

He finds her in the master bedroom, crying as she looks at an old family portrait.

Tariq tells her that the cake mixup isn’t a big deal. Tasha tells him she just needs a second.

As she wipes her tears, Tariq makes it clear that he overheard her conversation with Silver.

“I don’t want you to take the blame. Tell Mr. Silver the truth about what I did.” – Tariq

“The truth isn’t going to make things better. Nobody’s gonna believe that you did it alone, okay? You’re just a kid.” – Tasha

“But I did do it. I’m the one that killed him. You didn’t do anything wrong. I don’t want you to go to jail because of me. It’s not fair for Yas.” – Tariq

“It’s handled, Tariq!” – Tasha

“Just let me confess. That’s what Raina would have done.” – Tariq

“Raina would have done a lot of things differently, Tariq. The decision is made. If you wanna help me, just get the f*ck out the way.” – Tasha

Hurt by her words, Tariq turns around to walk out of the bathroom. But he turns back around and asks Tasha if she wishes that he was the one who died instead of Raina.

She doesn’t answer and storms out.

Tariq picks up the old family portrait and then sees Tasha’s sleeping pills. After reading the label, he then stares at his reflection in the mirror.

After leaving a voicemail for Quinn, asking for his job back, Cristobal arrives for his meeting with Dre.

“My men are dropping. Someone’s taking out Tainos.” – Cristobal

Dre wonders if this is happening because people know the Jimenez got locked up.

Cristobal says he hasn’t heard anything but he thinks it’s an inside job.

“Sh*t. Tommy and them?” – Dre

“No, no I‘m thinking 2-Bit.” – Cristobal

This answer doesn’t sit well with Dre.

Cristobal says that he knows 2-Bit wants his job. Dre says this means that Cristobal believes that he is behind this.

“That’s not what I said, Dre.” – Cristobal

“That’s what the f*ck it sounds like. You’re right, I don’t like having a number two. But I got one. And killing your men wouldn’t make my bosses happy, would it? So as my number two, handle your gang sh*t before I have to do it.” – Dre

Tariq reads down Ghost.

Tariq is still looking at the sleeping pills he stole from Tasha.

The elevator dings and Ghost walks into the penthouse.

He’s still drunk.

Ghost says he missed the dinner but he brought Tariq a birthday gift. He says that him missing the dinner was for a good cause because Raina’s name will be added to the building.

He hands him the sneaker box.

“Happy Birthday. I love you.” – Ghost

Tariq knows Ghost is drunk and he’s disgusted by this. He pushes the sneakers away.

“Why? Because I missed your party? I told you, Riq. I was at work.” – Ghost

A drunk Ghost then opens up the birthday cake box, and begins dipping his fingers into the icing, licking it off.

“Drug dealing ain’t work.” – Tariq

This angers Ghost and he gets in Tariq’s face.

“You’re turning into a little punk, ain’t you? I was at my club, Tariq. Building a legacy for your sister.” – Ghost

“Clubs you got with your dirty money, right?” – Ghost

Ghost grabs Tariq but he yanks away, freeing himself.

“Ma told me who you are and what you used to do. Don’t you remember that?” – Tariq

“My past don’t matter. The only thing that matters, son, is all of this sh*t that I done given you. I gave you everything I never had growing up.” – Ghost

“I don’t want none of this sh*t.” – Tariq

After Ghost tries to grab Tariq, he misses and falls to the ground.

“I give you everything.” – Ghost

“You lied to me my entire life about who you are and where we come from.” – Tariq

“Hell, you gon believe what your momma told you anyway, what do you want from me?” – Ghost

“I want the truth.” – Tariq

“Oh, it don’t matter.” – Ghost

“It matters to me!” – Tariq

“I’ll tell you one thing. Raina appreciated all of this sh*t.” – Ghost

“Yeah, she knew you was a drug dealer and a liar and a cheater too. But she didn’t care cause you got you got her nice stuff.” – Tariq

“That ain’t true. Raina loved me.” – Ghost

“Maybe she was the only one that did. All you do is think about yourself. Mom, Uncle Tommy and Kanan think that too. Maybe if Raina hated you, she would still be alive.” – Tariq

Ghost then lounges at Tariq and Tasha rushes in to break up the confrontation.

“I’m going back to Choate tonight!” – Tariq

“How you gonna get there? I ain’t paying for it.” – Ghost

“I don’t f*cking want your money, Ghost!” – Tariq

“Cut it out! Tariq, go to your room right now!” – Tasha

“Tasha, that’s why we don’t say sh*t to them because they don’t f*ckng get it.” – Ghost

“You need to go.” – Tasha

“Go where?! This is my motherf*cking house! You left, remember?” – Ghost

“You can come back when we’re gone! Go! Right now.” – Tasha

Ghost stumbles into the elevator as Tasha goes to check on Tariq.

Tommy is hanging out with Teresi. He notices the check Tommy from Ghost.

“Godd*mn that’s a lot of zeros!” – Teresa

An annoyed Tommy snatches the check away and says it’s just money Ghost owed him.

“Look, I’m sorry sh*t went left the way it did. I hope you can forgive me.” – Tommy

Teresi tells Tommy not to worry about it. He also says Sammy will be fine as well. Tommy then asks if Teresi thinks they can get back in with the family at some point.

“Oh, Jesus, kid.” – Teresi

He says Tommy needs to move on because the family has washed their hands of them.

“We’re all out of work.” – Teresi

After Tommy takes a swig of beer, Teresi says he regrets doing 25 years for the family because they didn’t even take care of Connie.

“So what you saying? You regret not making a deal?” – Tommy

“I have always been a loyal guy. But I was loyal to an idea of who I wanted to be based on old Jimmy Cagney movies. I had tons of information on a bunch of f*ckers who wouldn’t p*ss on me if I was on fire. And Vincent’s dad was one of them. After what they did to us today, after what they did to you, you think he would’ve stood tall for me?” – Teresa

“You really would’ve ratted, Teresi?” – Tommy

“A rat is only a rat if he rats on somebody he should be loyal to. If you inform on somebody you don’t give two sh*ts about to advance your own cause, then it’s just business.” – Teresi

Tommy takes another swig of beer and side eyes Teresi.

Dre is packing up some cash when Diego storms in.

“Why the f*ck were you not in the club tonight?” – Diego

“I thought you were jammed up, Diego.” – Dre

Diego then puts a gun to Dre’s head and asks if Dre is the Feds. Dre explains he saw the feds rolling up on Diego and Alicia while he and Cristobal were driving away from their meeting location.

“Are you the one who stole my gun and planted it in Long Island?” – Diego

“Diego, I’ve only been to Jones Beach, man. And I don’t know what gold gun you’re talking about, and even if I did, when have I been around you long enough to take it without you noticing? Come on, man. Think.” – Dre

“And you thought because I was in jail, you’d quit your job. Is that what you thought? You’re in over your f*cking head, amigo.” – Diego

“I am over my head, but it’s not my fault. It’s the motherf*cker Ghost and Tommy who came to you about the Cali ports. They’re dropping Cristobal’s people. I’m handling it, but it’s gone too far. They’re probably the ones that got you arrested, too.” – Dre

“I remember this Ghost. And Tommy. So we gotta f*ck em up. But this stays between you and me. We’ll tell Alicia nothing!” – Diego

Tommy visits Angela.

Angela is texting Ghost that she’s sorry she didn’t realize it was the twins’ birthday.

She gets a knock on the door and she grabs a gun when she sees who it is. It’s Tommy and she allows him to come inside.

“Did Proctor tell you where I live? Did Jamie?” – Angela

“Neither one.” – Tommy

“What do you want?” – Angela

“I got a problem. The thing is my problem is your problem. I’m thinking maybe I could help you to help me.” – Tommy

Angela says all he has to do is tell her everything she knows about the Jimenez and she will make sure he gets immunity.

“It’s a complete walk, Tommy.” – Angela

“All this time and you don’t know me at all. I’m not that f*cking guy. I never have been and never will be.” – Tommy

Confused by this, Angela asks what he’s there for. He then tells her he wants the tracker that was placed on his car.

“That’s federal property.” – Angela

“You want the Jimenez, right? Give me the tracker.” – Tommy

Angela reluctantly hands over the tracker.

“If you don’t sign an immunity agreement, what’s to keep me from wrapping you up with the Jimenez when I arrest them?” – Angela

“The same fear that made you put that gun in your waistband.” – Tommy

This answer makes Angela very uncomfortable.

As Tommy begins walking towards the door, he turns around and says the following:

“Oh, and I liked it better when you had that plant over there by the window.” – Tommy

Angela reaches for the gun in her waistband.

“Get the f*ck out of my apartment.” – Angela

“Relax, Angela. I’ll call you.” – Tommy

He smirks as he exits her apartment.

Saxe and Mak get lucky.

Teresi meets up with Mak and Saxe later that night. He tells them that Tommy is laundering his money into Truth.

He then walks away.

“F*ck yes! Yes!” – Saxe

Kanan is apparently driving Tariq back to Choate. He offers him some lean and Tariq declines the offer.

“Thanks for the ride.” – Tariq

“Why you ain’t ask your mom?” – Kanan

“She moved out of Ghost’s house. She’s on her own sh*t now.” – Tariq

“I’d wish you a happy birthday but it seems f*cked up with your sister and everything.” – Kanan

Ghost goes to the church to see Reverend Macedon.

“James. Glad you called.” – Reverend Macedon

They sit in the church to talk. Macedon asks Ghost where God is in his life.

He’s not convinced Ghost really has God in his life. Ghost says Raina is dead and somebody has to pay for it.

“Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord. Let God take care of her murderer.” – Reverend Macedon

Ghost says he feels like Raina’s death is God’s fault.

“God took my daughter, he took my friends, and my wife, my…look, no matter what I do reverend, I keep running into the same wall.” – Ghost

“Then stop running. Kneel.” – Reverend Macedon

But Ghost doesn’t really believe in praying. He says he’s not that kind of man.

He says bad things happen when he lets go.

“Well with you holding on, good thing aren’t happening either, are they?” – Reverend Macedon

When he asks Ghost who else he feels is responsible for how he’s feeling right now, Ghost says he blames Tariq.

“He should’ve been there for his sister. He wasn’t. I blame his mother for not seeing that he was in trouble. ” – Ghost

“And where were you when all of this happened?” – Reverend Macedon

“You know, I was in jail.” – Ghost

The pastor questions why Ghost was locked up when he was innocent. He then says it’s because he withheld information from Angela while trying to protect her and she hurt him back to get even.

Macedon tells Ghost that God wants people to be happy and free. However, people make choices that make them responsible for their own misery.

“What are the choices that led you to this moment? What would you do differently if you could? What would Raina do… What would Raina want you to do?” – Macedon

“She would want me to be different. I can do that. I can be different.” – Ghost

“For you. You have to want it. For yourself.” – Macedon

“I want it.” – Ghost

“What do you want?” – Macedon

“I wanna be a better man.” – Ghost

“Where did you lose your way?” – Macedon

After this conversation, Ghost ends up back at Angela’s place. She answers the door and lets him in.
