‘Black Ink Crew’ Recap: The Gang Heads to New Orleans to Open up the New Shop

There’s a new shop.

Cease says that he’s had a lot of major success. He feels like he’s living his dreams. But he will never forget where he came from – Harlem.

He throws a big block party on 113th street. After the crowd quiets down, Cease says that he’s opening a new shop in New Orleans. That makes shop number four for him.

It’s located in one of the oldest black communities of New Orleans.

The crowd cheers.

Walt says that he’s been sober and working on his money problems.

Things are still going strong between Donna and Alex.

In a green screen interview, Donna says she loves everything about Alex.

Sky comes in with half n*ked servants.

She says this is a new era for her. Even though she’s still not on good terms with her eldest son Genesis, she’s doing great getting close to her youngest son Des. Sky is going to his graduation in a week.

Tati walks in the shop with her new emotional support dog.

Jadah isn’t thrilled to see her.

Apparently, Tati isn’t ready to forgive Jadah for their altercation in Miami.

Cease announces that he and few others need to head down to New Orleans to get things ready.

He’s taking Ted, Sky, Tati, Walt and Alex.

Of course Donna is not happy about this. Donna and Bae are in charge of staying behind and taking care of the high profile clients.

Donna questions why she doesn’t get to go to New Orleans. She feels she should at least been picked over all the new people. She throws her bottled water at Cease and storms out the shop.

“You know what, f*ck you Donna. You big b*tch.” – Ceaser

Young Bae is still pregnant.

She’s getting ready to take the test to become an American citizen. Bae has been waiting for this moment for ten years. She breaks down crying about what she went through in Korea.

Her father was abusive and she grew up poor.

“I had to leave. And I left with nothing.” – Bae

Melody is there to support her.

About 30 minutes later, Bae returns and tells Melody she’s officially an American Citizen.

Desiigner comes by the shop for a new tattoo.

Cease is going to tattoo him.

They are both from Bed Stuy. The rapper tells him he got shot when he was 14. Both are thankful to have made it out of the hood.

He wants his LOD logo done. Cease gets to work and Desiigner loves his new tattoo.

Minutes later, Kitty runs in the shop and tells everyone Bae is having her baby. She’s six weeks early.

Donna gets upset with Alex.

Alex and Donna go to Coney Island.

Since Donna is still upset that Cease didn’t select her to go to New Orleans, he figures a date at Coney Island should lift her spirits.

When he asks Donna when they can officially be girlfriend and boyfriend, she tells him she doesn’t want labels. Donna just wants to take things one step at a time.

She suggests that he skips the New Orleans trip to stay with her.

But Alex says he can’t do that because it will disappoint Cease. Cease has done too much for him for Alex to not go to New Orleans.

While he wants her to come, he knows this isn’t a good idea for his career.

So he tells her no.

Donna gets angry about this since he’s going to be away for a month.

“Well listen, I’m going down there and I’ll be back in a month. And that’s it.” – Alex

She then storms off.

Bae and the others are at the hospital.

Nico Blue, her son, was born at 5am. He’s five weeks early.

But the doctors say he’s a healthy premie.

Young Bae and Rob take him home for the first time. The new parents are already in love with their son.

The fellas head to New Orleans.

With it being Cease’s birthday weekend, they plan to turn up as well and handle business.

When they get to the rental house, folks aren’t impressed by the exterior. But when they walk in, the house looks great and there are women there to greet them.

It doesn’t take long for the drinking and twerking to start.

Alex is trying to make sure he doesn’t get himself in more trouble with Donna.

Tati gets to the house the next morning.

Teddy is flirty with her. She shows off her backside to him as she opens the refrigerator.

Cease comes in and tells them he has a hangover. But he’s ready to handle business regardless. Sky is flying in that night.

Later that day, they head to the new shop.

It’s big and everyone is impressed.

“Yo, this is crazy.” – Teddy

The shop will be open 24 hours. There’s even a bar inside. Teddy notices that Walt had a lot to drink the previous night even though he’s supposed to be sober.

Hours after seeing the shop, Cease finds them at the pool partying. He calls them out for this. They were supposed to show back up at the shop but they never came back.

So Cease storms off to do what needs to be done by himself.

Sky arrives to New Orleans.

She’s not happy to see that Cease already has his things in the master suite.

“I have nowhere to sleep! You took the only acceptable room in the house!” – Sky

But he tells her he put his things in there to mark the space for her. This makes her happy and she hugs him. She tells him he can have the room the next night because she’s going to Texas for Des’ graduation.

It’s a four-day trip.

This angers Cease because he thinks four days is excessive. He explains that he needs help opening the new shop.

Cease starts screaming and says he’s half a million in debt over the unopened shop. He flips over the pool table and storms off.
