“Power” is back for its final season. And the season premiere started off with a bang. Angela Valdes did not survive after being shot by Tommy Egan. This has led to a war between James St. Patrick. Interestingly enough, another war has been taking place on social media since season one.

Tasha St. Patrick fans are on one side. Angela’s fans on another. While some feel Angela was nothing but a homewrecker, others feel she’s the only one who really loved Ghost. But the conversations also take a racial slant at times. This is to the annoyance of Courtney Kemp.

I love the show but it’s disappointing that Courtney doesn’t understand that Latina/Latino isn’t a race. You have black Latinos, white ones, etc. Lela is not Afro Latina. That’s fine to acknowledge.

THANK YOU 🙃 Courtney acts like a dimwit at times.

As a black woman, she should have been a lot more aware of the narrative that was going to come from a nonblack Latina pushing a black drug dealer to leave the game and the black, dark skinned wife telling him to stay in it. The fact that she’s oblivious to it just shows how conditioned a lot of us are. She even talked about how soft and feminine she wanted this nonblack character to be. Just…yeah…

A lot of people still don’t know the different between race and ethnicity.

Ugh. That should be “the difference.” Smh.

Honestly, the Angela and Ghost nonsense has always made the show unrealistic and cheesy at times.
