‘Power’ Recap: Ghost Learns Tommy is Still Alive + Paz Makes the Ultimate Decision

Tommy lays low.

Ghost meets with Jason after he shoots up Tommy’s car. He believes Tommy is dead and Jason doesn’t tell him otherwise. Ghost doesn’t want to go to war so he agrees to give Jason $100k every two weeks. He leaves there still not knowing Tommy is alive.

Tariq gets annoyed when his roommate Brayden brings by a potential customer. He refuses to sell any pills to Brayden’s friend but makes a proposition to Brayden after the friend leaves. Brayden agreed to sell Tariq’s pills to other students for $30 a pill. Brayden will keep $10 from the sale of each pill and give the rest to Tariq.

Ghost tells Joe he killed Tommy the other night and he needs an alibi. Joe says he may not be able to do that because he was at his daughter’s dance recital and the new US Attorney showed up there to talk. Joe is happy when he is told Tommy is dead because he was a problem that could have gotten everyone put in jail. Ghost is upset to hear this because he considered Tommy to be his best friend. But he feels he had no choice but to pull the trigger. Joe tells Ghost to take Tasha to Angela’s funeral so he can play up his family-man image. While talking to Ghost, Joe gets served to appear in court. His ex wants primary custody.

Tommy gets up with his crew. He tells them someone tried to kill him and they believe they succeeded. So he needs them to pretend like he’s dead and not tell anyone he’s still alive. When he is asked if he will need help handling the person who made the attack, Tommy says he will handle the situation himself.

Tasha and Ghost’s divorce arbitration doesn’t go well.

Rodriguez and Donovan stop by Tasha’s hotel room to ask about Silver’s disappearance. Tasha says she has no idea where he is and the last time she saw him was the morning before his testimony. When she is asked what they discussed, she refuses to answer and says that is the purpose of attorney-client privilege. Rodriguez then asks about Angela’s death and Tasha says it’s always sad when people die before their time before closing the door. Rodriguez tells Donovan they should put a tail on Tasha but Donovan says Warner would never allow that.

Tasha and Ghost have their first meeting with their divorce attorneys. The prenup is discussed and Tasha is reminded that it states she would get nothing if she initiated a divorce. Her lawyer says they will fight this. After the meeting, Ghost tells Tasha he will keep giving her money for the kids and he always puts them first. Tasha tells him he didn’t put the kids first when he cheated with Angela. Ghost wonders when she will move on and says that he needs her to go to Angela’s funeral with him. Tasha doesn’t want to but he convinces her to go with him because it will help prove their innocence in Angela’s death. Ghost then agrees to leave Tommy alone at Tasha’s request even though he believes he killed him.

Saxe plots on Proctor.

Saxe meets with Proctor’s ex-wife. He wants to put a bug on their daughter’s book bag. Proctor’s ex-wife doesn’t agree to this and says that the only thing she wants is a job. She interviewed with a private firm recently and she believes a letter of recommendation from a US State Attorney would help her. Saxe agrees to this in exchange for bugging the book bag. He believes this will help him get Proctor.

Keisha and Tommy talk about Ghost at Keisha’s place. Tommy doesn’t know what to do about Ghost because he doesn’t want to hurt Tasha and the kids. But Keisha says Ghost didn’t think about her and Kash when he shot up Tommy’s car. There’s a knock on the door and Keisha freaks out. She’s convinced it’s the cops. Turns out it’s just Tasha. Keisha refuses to let Tasha in to speak to Tommy. After Keisha slams the door in Tasha’s face, she tells Tommy he can no longer speak to Tasha or Ghost. Tommy texts Tasha to meet up later.

Tariq chooses a side.

Ghost stops by Tariq’s room at Choate. He tells him that Tommy died and he did it because he killed Angela while aiming at Ghost. When Tariq asked why Tommy wanted him dead, Ghost lies and says he doesn’t know. This angers Tariq since he remembers Tommy told him Ghost swindled him into killing his father. Realizing Ghost still isn’t being honest, he coldly tells Ghost he has studying to do. Later, Tariq tells Tommy that Ghost thinks he’s dead. And if Tommy wants to kill him, Tommy has to let him know beforehand. Tommy agrees.

Ghost catches up with Councilman Tate. Tate wastes no time asking Ghost if he killed Angela. Ghost says he wouldn’t do that because Angela was the love of his life. Tate warns Ghost that he would have to deal with him if Ghost’s problems interfere with his political aspirations.

Things become complicated for Tasha.

Tasha and Tommy talk as he looks at new cars. She talks about the divorce arbitration. She tells Tommy it didn’t go well because Ghost is hiding money and he doesn’t want to give her anything. She’s also not happy Tariq is seemingly siding with Tommy. But she’s not so sure it wouldn’t be best if Ghost was dead. Ghost dying means she and the kids would be his beneficiaries. When Tommy asks what that means, Tasha says she isn’t sure about anything anymore. They also discuss Keisha. Tommy didn’t like how she freaked out when she thought the cops were outside her apartment. That concerns him. But Tasha says Keisha can handle the lifestyle. All he has to do is buy her plenty of gifts.

Proctor and his ex-wife head to court. She tells the court she has a new job and Proctor got her hooked on coke. The judge decides it would be best to ask their daughter who she wants to live with. When they ask her, she breaks down in tears. So Proctor agrees to joint custody.

Tasha meets with Paz.

Paz finds Angela’s secret phone. She texts the last number Angela was in contact with using the device to meet up. It turns out the be Tasha. Tasha reveals Angela was working with her and Ghost to stay out of jail. After Paz threatens to turn in the phone, Tasha says her phone implicates Angela. She has text messages that prove Angela was working with her. And if it comes out that she was part of a criminal conspiracy, Angela will lose her benefits and her reputation will be destroyed. So Paz agrees to work with Tasha instead. As Tasha is walking away, she runs into Rodriguez. Rodriguez says she had Silver and Tasha’s phones pinged and she knows the last time they talked was near his apartment. Tasha admits to sleeping with Silver. Rodriguez believes Tasha may not have killed Silver but asks who might have.

Tate is giving his speech about the Queens Child Project and running for governor. A man in the audience doesn’t buy that Tate will do anything for the black community. He then says Ghost is nothing more than a former corner boy. Ghost then walks up to the podium and takes over Tate’s speech saying that they are not who they were in the past. Tate is visibly annoyed.

Tasha makes demands.

After Ghost exits the club after Tate’s speech, Tommy sees him across the street and texts a heads up to Tariq. Before he can take a shot at Ghost, two men put a bag over his head and throw him in a van. They take him to Jason and Jason tells Tommy he can’t kill Ghost. He’ll allow Tommy to pay for extra security but if Tommy is ever late on business, Jason will pull his security and allow Ghost to kill Tommy.

Tasha goes to the penthouse and tells Ghost about the feds finding out Silver’s last known whereabouts. She tells him she knows he killed Silver and he is in trouble if they find security footage from the parking deck. She tells Ghost he doesn’t want her to be happy and Silver was her future. Ghost tells her neither Silver nor Shawn were her future. Angry by this, Tasha says that she will tell the police he killed Silver if he doesn’t pay up.

Tariq meets Effie.

Brayden tells Tariq a young lady wants to talk to him or she will rat out him and Tariq. Tariq goes to see her and her name is Effie. She slams him for selling drugs on campus where there are only a few black kids. Tariq says he loves money and she can work with him or tell. He assures her she’d make more money with him than a minimum wage job. And it would give her more time to study. Tariq tells her to think about it and walks away.

Tate gets his staffer to locate the heckler at his speech. They bring the man to Tate’s office. Tate hires him to find out more dirt on Ghost. After the man leaves, Tate beats up his staffer for not preventing the man from embarrassing him during the speech.

Paz makes her decision.

Paz is with Angela’s coffin. The funeral will be starting soon. She is told by the funeral home owner that the funeral was paid for. They tell her James St. Patrick didn’t do it. After she is left alone, Saxe calls her. He tells her Angela’s benefits have not been released yet. When he asks her if she found any helpful info about Ghost, she lies and says no. After she hangs up, she texts Tasha thanks. She then puts Angela’s secret phone in her coffin and tells her that her secrets will stay with her. At the funeral, Saxe sees Steve Tampio, the DEA. He tells Saxe they have Dre and he’s their star witness against Alicia Jimenez. And he needs Saxe to make sure Dre doesn’t find out about Angela’s death or he may recant. Saxe will do his part. After the funeral starts, Tommy strolls in, shocking Ghost. He speaks to Paz and Angela’s dad before giving Ghost a cold glare and a nod to Tasha. Ghost asks Tasha if she knew Tommy was alive, she smirks and says, “Yep.”

Later on, Effie stops by Tariq’s place. She’s decided to work with him. Proctor’s ex-wife puts the bug on their daughter’s book bag. Tommy is teaching Keisha the territories of the local drug organizations. Tasha and her daughter move into their new apartment. Ghost confronts Jason for not telling him Tommy is still alive. Jason says Ghost can kill Tommy only if he will replace him as the new distro, which Ghost refuses to do. But Jason makes it seem like he’s open to Tommy’s exit when he says, “If not you, then who?” Dre is doing push-ups in a house when he sees on the news that Angela was killed. Donovan walks in and Dre asks if the Jimenez killed her. Donovan says they don’t know anything yet and they are moving Dre to another location so he can testify the next day.
