‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Recap: Charmaine Offers Kitty a Job & Irritates Jessica + Glenda is Buried

Ryan comes through.

The 2nd City Ink crew talks about Charmaine. They are all worried about her and Draya says losing her mom was one of the hardest things she’s ever been through. So she understands what Charmaine is feeling.

Jessica says that Ryan reached out and told her he rented out a house in New Orleans. So anyone who wants to attend Glenda’s funeral can stay there.

Prince has unresolved issues with his ex.

Later on, Fly Tatted takes Prince to pick up his son. Prince tells Fly that he’s not in a good place with his baby momma. So co-parenting has been rough. His legal issues were too much for her so she ended the relationship. Fly tells Prince that he should have an honest conversation with her. It’s important that they fix their co-parenting relationship.

Neek and Charmaine worry about Mike.

Charmaine is at her parents’ house. It’s been difficult for everyone to grasp Glenda’s death. And Charmaine is really worried about her father Mike.

Mike walks into the kitchen and his sadness is all over his face.

Neek and Charmaine console him.

Ryan urges everyone to support Charmaine.

The 2nd City Ink crew arrives in New Orleans. When they get to the rental house, Ryan greets them. In a green screen interview, he says Don and Phor didn’t come because they didn’t feel like Charmaine wanted them there.

Ryan thanks the 2nd City Ink crew for coming. He says Glenda was Charmaine’s best friend and Charmaine is going to need a lot of support from everyone.

Prince and Fly decided to stay behind. A client comes in the shop and says she wants a tattoo to honor her deceased sister. Prince sketches a tattoo that has a DNA strain and doves. The client loves it.

Iyanah and Phor hang out.

Phor has been thinking a lot about possibly being a father. He and Iyanah meet up to get manicures together at a nearby nail salon.

Iyanah says that she listens to Phor’s music and enjoys it. She’s focused on becoming an attorney.

He tells her that his dad wasn’t in his life. Phor knows who his father is but his father never made an effort to have a relationship. So it was hard seeing everyone, including Don, have their fathers in their lives.

Iyanah understands and both hope things will work out for the best.

Things work out for Prince.

Ryan and Jessica hang out. Both really admire each other’s tattooing abilities. And Jessica is relieved to see that Ryan isn’t who she thought he was.

Prince has a conversation with his baby momma. She says she’s a new person and she’s emotional because they haven’t really talked in a long time. It was hard for her to take care of their son while Prince was locked up. She ended the relationship so she could process her feelings.

Prince wants to be a family again. A fresh start is something he feels they need. Luckily, his baby momma is feeling the same way. And Prince is happy about this.

Phor upsets Don.

Don and Phor catch up. After Phor says he’s going to hang out with Iyanah again, Don questions why he’s doing this when he’s not sure if she’s his daughter. He urges Phor to just take the paternity test and stop putting it off.

When Phor tells him he doesn’t understand Phor’s point of view, Don gets heated and goes off on him before storming off.

Kitty and Kat make appearances.

It’s the day of Glenda’s funeral. A lot of people come out to support, including Kitty. She knows what Charmaine is feeling since she recently lost her mother.

Ryan introduces Kitty to Jessica. She opens up to Jessica about how she put makeup on her mother’s face for her funeral.

Charmaine has a special moment with Danielle and Ryan. She’s happy they were all able to move on from the past. In a green screen interview, Charmaine says she didn’t invite Phor and Don to the funeral because they haven’t hashed things out yet.

Ryan stands in line next to Kat at the repast. They are on good terms.

Kitty gets a job offer.

Charmaine thanks Kitty for doing Glenda’s makeup for the funeral. They talk about the rumors about Kitty and Ryan.

Kitty says they are just friends and Ryan is supportive of her. She says the rumor was started because of hurt feelings and someone wanting a come up.

Charmaine tells Kitty she can work at 2nd City Ink. Jessica looks on and is visibly shocked that Charmaine would do this without talking to her first. But Kitty says she will consider the opportunity.

In a green screen interview, Jessica says that they don’t make up job titles at 2nd City Ink like they do at Black Ink. So she’s going to have to talk to Charmaine about this later.

The funeral ends with a second line and doves.

Charmaine plans a second line for the end of the funeral. It’s the New Orleans way to celebrate Glenda getting her wings. In a green screen interview, Charmaine says she feels like she lost her number one supporter.

It’s a very emotional moment as her and Mike release doves for Glenda.
