James and Grace witness Calvary Church beginning to be torn down
The finale begins with James standing at the podium in the sanctuary one final time as he’s joined by Grace. After an emotional moment, Grace escorts James out of the sanctuary and church. Outside, they see Harmony and Hope removing all remnants of James and Calvary out of the church.
James wanted to see the demolishing of the church so he would believe it is happening. He also tells Grace that this move was a mistake.
At home, Mae’s with Maricel in her dining room fasting when Charity walks in. Mae insults her and Charity storms out in anger. Aaron, meanwhile, stops by to see Grace. He questions Mae when she tells him she doesn’t want the old church back. James and Grace walk in and James doesn’t acknowledge Mae as he storms off in anger.
Jacob receives the will from Kerissa.
Meanwhile, Jacob’s being extorted by his soon-to-be ex-wife Kerissa. She’s hanging the will over his head that she received from Fernando. This will allegedly prove James and Mae weren’t supposed to inherit their massive home from Mrs. Davis.
Sophia gets a call from Dante. He wants to come over to see her but she warns him that his ex Nikki is still staying over with Zora.
Next, Charity is rather angry walking into her board meeting and runs into Phil. She mad at Phil because she sacrificed her place in the family for Phil. However, her heart was crushed when Phil told her he’s marrying Bob’s daughter Judee.
A blessing takes place for AJ.
AJ and Grace got the news that the police are accusing someone else of the pharmacy robbery. They are pinning the crime on the person Grace saw at Faith’s gravesite. Grace’s surprised by this as Aaron calls this a miracle. That person also was accused of other robberies and died in a shootout.
Afterward, Aaron meets with Jacob to view the will Kerissa gave him. Meanwhile, Grace meets Darius in his office. Grace needs a favor and he seems open to it.
Back at the home, Jacob learns he needs to find out who the real beneficiary was supposed to be on the will. He then calls Alexa.
Charity learns Carlton is resigning.
During the board meeting, Phil and Charity tell the board about a new location for the new Harmony and Hope church. Charity interrupts Phil and strongly, and passionately proposes that she becomes the Pastor for their new location. Phil sees what she’s trying to do; keep the Greenleafs involved. The music minister Carlton overhears this.
Later on, Alexa reluctantly lets Jacob in and he notices that she has a child.
At a coffee shop, Grace asks Darius to find out the identity of the person AJ’s crime was pinned on and he agrees.
Back at the church, Carlton lets Charity know he’s quitting, making her day worse. She begins to cry and tells Carlton she wishes that she could quit too.
Jacob’s getting scolded when he asks Alexa about Mac’s old paperwork when he notices her daughter. He tells her that he and Kerissa are divorcing and asks if she’s married. When Jacob’s told no, he wonders if the child is his. Alexa tells him that she wouldn’t have kept it if it was his.
Before he leaves, Jacob learns of an old storage locker Mac had in town and then he apologizes for how everything went down with Alexa.
Things are overwhelming for AJ.
Meanwhile, AJ’s in his room when Grace comes in and talks to him about what happened. He knows he stole the pills and is worried they’re going to find out. Grace tells him the police are convinced they caught the right person and to not stress over this. She then asks him to dinner with her and Sophia and he reluctantly agrees. However, when she leaves his room, he freaks out, grabs his bag, and tries to run out. But, he stops when he sees himself in the mirror.
James prays with the board.
Clara, Karine, and Coralie are meeting with James regretting their vote. They are looking for a plan on how to get the church back from Harmony and Hope. James responds with a prayer. As they pray, Jacob enters Mac’s locker to get info about the will.
Darius also gets some huge news about why Bob from Harmony & Home chose the Calvary Church in the first place and he wants to meet with Grace in person.
Sophia meets up with Dante at his mansion. When he opens the door, Sophia sees Nikki and asks Dante if they’re getting back together. It appears they are going to work things out. She leaves emotionally hurt.
James’ ready to marry Mae and start a new church.
Over coffee, James talks to Mae about a new plan. He says it’s a day to day journey which involves creating a new church. He was emotionally inspired by his meeting and wants Mae’s help, which includes getting married again. They bless the plan with a kiss. As this happens, Phil’s removing signs of Charity from his apartment. A doorbell rings and it’s Charity stopping by with her engagement ring. Phil tells her to keep the ring as a sign he still loves her.
She becomes angry when she learns Phil’s only marrying Judee to get the full-time pastor position. Charity angrily hands over the ring and storms out.
Grace learns of Bob’s ultimate plan.
When Grace gets to Darius’ office, Grace learns what Darius found out. Bob is planning to run for Senate in Tennessee and wants the church as a ploy. Grace also learns of a new wedding between James and Mae. Jacob and Kerissa got the message too and are preparing to join everyone. He tells Kerissa he’s not going to fight her in court. Sophia shows up late and Mae notices tension between her and Zora. Zora also notices tension between Kerissa and Jacob.
AJ physically harms himself.
Grace asks about AJ and Sophia says she didn’t see him. So she runs off to try and find him. She gets to his room and doesn’t see him. In the room, Grace finds the bathroom door has been locked and has to break it down. Once inside the bathroom, Grace finds AJ in the bathroom with his wrists cut. She wraps his wrists with towels and calls out for help as she cries.
