LisaRaye McCoy was very close to her father.

In the past, LisaRaye McCoy has opened up about being very close to her deceased father David McCoy. He was a self-made millionaire and owned multiple businesses in Chicago. And David’s live-in girlfriend and her brother were convicted of his death. He was killed in 1988.

While talking about her father’s death on BET’s “Being,” LisaRaye said she was so close to David that they made a deadly pact several months before he died. The agreement was if he died before LisaRaye, she would kill herself. And if LisaRaye died before David, he would kill himself. So when LisaRaye learned he was murdered, she purposely crashed her car into a tree.

On “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” LisaRaye McCoy clashes with her mother.

LisaRaye doesn’t seem to have a close relationship with her mother, Katie McCoy. On the upcoming episode of “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” LisaRaye appears on the show with Katie and her daughter Kai Pace. And their relationships are fractured.

On a preview for the episode, while Katie was talking to Iyanla Vanzant about LisaRaye, she says, “She knew her daddy was a d*mn h*e!”

In response to Katie, LisaRaye says, “What do I do about it now, Mom? Can I buy you?”

And Katie then says, “You ain’t got enough d*mn money to buy me!”

Iyanla later tries to get to the bottom of LisaRaye’s strained relationship with her own daughter. She says, “LisaRaye, your child is broken. Do you have any idea how that happened?”

The actress says no.

But one thing that LisaRaye is clear on is that she doesn’t want to be anything like Katie. She tells Iyanla, “My mom, she makes me feel like that’s what I don’t want to be.”

Iyanla describes Katie as a “bitter” and “unhappy” woman who feels she’s “entitled to something.”
