Charmaine didn’t want to be known as a homewrecker.
Don and Charmaine have been through a lot on “Black Ink Crew Chicago.” In fact, they clashed plenty on the first season of the show. Charmaine hooked up with Don but she said she didn’t know he was in a relationship with Ashley at the time. And she also said that Don told her that he was no longer with Ashley.
After Charmaine told Ashley this, it caused even more problems between Don and Ashley. So Don took his anger out on Charmaine. In one explosive scene, he went off on Charmaine while the gang was on a boat.
Recently, both Charmaine and Don talked about this moment during an interview in which Don was asked to give his thoughts on past scenes. After the scene was shown, Charmaine told Don, “I totally want to tell you that I wasn’t tryna ruin your life. You know, we were on TV and people think I was a home wrecker. So I was just tryna like clear the air.”
Don understands he was completely wrong in the situation.
In response, Don apologized. And he said he realizes now that he was totally in the wrong, “Man, I’ll say it again for everybody. you know what? I deeply apologize for the lack of respect I had for you, for Ashley at the time. You know, I didn’t…as two great women, I went about that whole situation completely wrong. And you know, I apologize all over again for that. You know what I mean? I think it should’ve been handled so differently.”
