Andy has more questions for Monique.
After Candiace gets up and walks backstage in tears, Andy asks Monique why she’s not emotional while discussing the altercation. But Monique says she went through her emotions away from the show and had to watch everything play out in the headlines.
Meanwhile, Chris tells Candiace that she can get through the reunion and things will get better.
As for Monique, she says it wasn’t about Candiace at the moment during the altercation. Her hands in Monique’s face triggered her.
Robyn and Wendy clarify icing out Monique.
When it comes to the other women not filming with Monique, Wendy and Robyn both say it was Monique who said she didn’t want to be invited to their events.
Candiace comes back out and says she reluctantly pressed charges. And she believes that bloggers put out a negative narrative about her in favor of Monique.
After Candiace calls Monique’s lawyer a quack attorney, Monique said she filed counter-charges because she did what she was instructed to do by her attorney. And she had the best criminal defense attorney in the state. She also says Candiace and her attorney just wanted money.
Ashley has no regrets about writing the character statement. Regardless, Candiace still says that Monique and Chris have dogged out Michael and Ashley to them in the past. However, Ashley is unmoved.
Candiace doesn’t accept Monique’s apology.
Monique then gets tearful and says that her dad used to put his finger in her face when he would “check” her. So it’s a trigger for her. But she apologizes to Candiace for hurting her because she didn’t deserve what happened next. However, Candiace feels like it took too long for Monique to apologize. And the apology doesn’t seem genuine.
They talk about Monique’s song, “Drag Queens.” And Monique said she made the song to vent out her feelings about the altercation and other things. Andy says that’s not a good look. He also says she got “bad advice” from her attorney to not apologize to Candiace after the charges were filed.
Candiace says that she does have a lot of mouth but nothing she did warranted the altercation. Andy agrees and it’s clear that both women won’t be moving forward.
Karen and Candiace’s fractured friendship is discussed.
Candiace and Ashley both say they felt like Karen supported Monique more than Candiace.
Karen doesn’t agree and she says she knows what she saw during the fight. While Monique flicked Candiace’s hair first, Candiace plucked Monique’s jacket, hair was pulled and then the wine glass was thrown by Candiace. However, Candiace doesn’t recall the events happened that way.
When it comes to Karen’s wig launch, Karen says Monique was only invited to the pre-event. She was never going to be at the actual event. She did her best to make both women happy. And she wanted both of them there but at different times.
Things get heated.
They end up in an emotional shouting match after Candiace calls out Karen for going to a higher-up and saying she felt threatened after Candiace told her to burn in h*ll. Karen says she was hurt and she didn’t appreciate that Candiace would say that to her. But Candiace says that Karen was evil in her handling of things, including her expressing that she felt Robyn and Gizelle instigated the altercation by egging Monique and Candiace to talk when they didn’t want to. She also believes Karen tried to get her fired.
Through tears, Candiace says Karen never cared about her.
Karen says she urged higher-ups to get Candiace help for her mental health. And she has no regrets about calling their boss.
Andy then says that he hopes that Karen and Candiace can get past this one day because they appeared to have a genuine friendship.
The husbands speak.
It’s time for the husbands to take the stage so Andy calls for a break.
When Chris S. comes out, he’s not interested in having small talk with Andy about Michael Jordan’s documentary. He says he’s there to discuss the “filthy lies” that have been said about Monique.
Things perk up when they start filming again. All the men are there, with the exception of Michael, Juan, and Jamal.
Michael is at a wedding, Juan is busy with coaching, and Jamal is lecturing.
Ray clarifies that he does love Karen. He was asked if he was still in love with Karen the way he was 25 years ago.
He had a “great laugh” about Karen saying she wanted her money back that she gave him to pay his taxes. But it’s not an issue because he’s looked out for her plenty in the past.
Chris B. and Candiace are happy about their new house. And they are having more s*x.
The plot is brought back up.
Chris S. says it was a joke when he mocked Monique with the “wine bottle” joke. He apologizes if he offended anyone. Chris has been listening to Monique and helping her a lot more around the house. She’s been through a lot this year.
Andy then brings up a clip of Chris and Monique on Instagram Live. Gizelle says this is why she brought her security guard to the reunion. In one clip, Chris says that he wishes he was a woman because he would run up on Gizelle and the others for plotting on his family. He apologizes for this and says he was upset about what was said about his son Chase.
Andy isn’t interested in talking about this and says they talked about the plot for 30 minutes already.
Chris asks Candiace why she didn’t go to Monique and tell her about the plot. Candiace then says there was no plot. And Chris B. accuses Chris of supporting a blogger that went after his children. Monique says they didn’t support this.
As yelling ensues, Chris gets up out of his chair and Gizelle complains that her security guard needs to make him “sit the f*ck down.” Her security guard does nothing.
Producers bring on the footage.
Candiace then says that the rumors were brought up and she did say that it was dumb because there’s clearly no truth to them. But she didn’t think they have to run to each other every time something is said behind their backs.
Chris S. asks Robyn, Candiace, and Gizelle if they ever discussed the rumors on the show. Candiace and Robyn say no.
Gizelle tells him not to speak to her ever.
Seconds later, producers then insert unaired footage of Gizelle bringing up the rumor to Robyn.
Things are going great for Robyn.
On to some positive topics, Robyn talks about her engagement. She and Juan will be moving into a new home soon. And sales are going great for her Embellished hat line. Andy asks Robyn if the money from the hats is paying for the new house. Robyn says the hat business can pay for the house, but she doesn’t need it to.
Robyn doesn’t regret not using Karen’s photos to model the hats on her website. She says the hat Karen modeled was one of her worst sellers so she won’t be bringing it back.
Her taxes have been handled. She says she didn’t criticize Karen and Ray for having tax debt. She just didn’t believe Karen didn’t know anything about it. Karen says Robyn didn’t know about her own tax debt though.
Juan is discussed again. They wonder why Michael said Juan wouldn’t be proposing. Ashley says Michael said this because Juan was so comfortable with their arrangement prior.
Chris S. needs a moment to cool off.
Andy asks Chris S. what he thinks about the engagement, and he’s not interested in small talk. He says that he and Monique were gaslit when it comes to Gizelle and the rumors about Chase. Robyn gets angry and yells that she’s glad Juan is not there.
Once again, Andy says that they should move on because they discussed the rumors already. So Chris says he’s leaving the stage to take a break.
Candiace says Chris is “doing way too much.”
Chris B. and Michael’s altercation is discussed.
When it comes to the situation, Chris says that he got angry because Michael has a history of disrespecting women. Ashley says that the women come for Michael all the time and he has a right to defend himself. But Chris says the men should address each other when they have an issue with the women.
A little later on, Chris B. and Chris S. both admit they miss their friendship. They do wish that Candiace and Monique could repair their friendship at one point. But all they can do is continue to support their wives.
Ray makes an announcement that he and Karen are going to have another wedding to celebrate their 25 wedding anniversary. This makes Karen very happy.
Gizelle is over it.
Before Chris S. leaves the stage, he says he’s proud of Monique for trying to move past the rumors about her son. He gets emotional and hugs her, telling her that he doesn’t judge her for how things went during the season. In the background, Gizelle says, “Give me a got d*mn break.” Also, “the fake tears.”
Chris tells Gizelle to “get some help.”
When Chris B. and Chris S. get together backstage, they hug it out and agree to always be cool regardless of what’s going on between Candiace and Monique.
Karen closes out the reunion by saying she believes that all the women can move forward and get past all the hurt they put each other through during season 5.
Andy then has them slither on out as a group.
What are your thoughts on the finale?
