Candiace Dillard is still angry with Monique Samuels.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Monique Samuels announced her departure from the show hours ago. However, it’s clear that she may never be on decent terms with Candiace Dillard again. And even some time away from Bravo won’t lessen the tension between them.
Last year, both women got into an altercation at a winery. Since then, the cast has been divided. Most of the women have sided with Candiace. So Monique has found herself in a worse place with Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Wendy Osefo after the fight.
Candiace also wants nothing to do with Monique, and she said she wouldn’t be on the show if Monique didn’t leave. So now it looks as if Candiace’s path forward on the show is all but confirmed. Although Monique won’t be on the show for season 6, Candiace’s anger with Monique hasn’t waned. And she believes Monique took way too long to apologize to her.
These days, Candiace probably feels as if she has more in common with Monique’s mother in law, Shirley Samuels. On the show, it was clear that Monique had some tension with Ms. Shirley.
Monique Samuels’ mother in law had a controversial moment on RHOP.
On Monique’s first season on “Real Housewives of Potomac,” Shirley criticized Monique for being a stay at home mom. This came up after Monique disclosed that she and Chris were looking for a new home with more space. The family was out eating dinner.
After Monique revealed they were looking for a new house, Shirley told another family member, “She better think about who pays for the babies.”
She would later tell Monique that she has to get a job.
Monique disagreed. She said Chris is so frugal that they are good for “the rest of the one hundred years to come.”
Shirley then leaned over to a relative and said, “They need to hook me up with some of that money.”
Later on, there would be another conversation about having a long-lasting marriage.
Shirley didn’t hold back then either.
“You can have money and fame, you can have a good job or good s*x like you said. But if you don’t have any of those things, and you still stay there, that’s a marriage. If you can’t endure, everybody can’t endure that.”
When it became clear that Shirley and Monique didn’t necessarily agree on the definition of what marriage is, Shirley then leaned over to a family member and asked, “Didn’t I get that heifer straight?”
Shirley would end up apologizing to Monique later on in front of the cameras.
However, Candiace thinks Shirley’s past comments about Monique were spot on.
