RHOA Ratings Continue to Drop + NeNe Leakes Throws a Little Shade

NeNe Leakes had a controversial exit from RHOA.

Real Housewives of Atlanta” is back for season 13. However, the show has been in the headlines for months now. This is due to the controversy from the previous season. NeNe Leakes clashed something serious with Kenya Moore. She also had some issues at the reunion with Kandi Burruss. Of course, her close friendship with Cynthia Bailey has fizzled out. And she had tension with Eva Marcille. But it would be NeNe’s premature exit from the reunion that had a lot of people talking.

Apparently, her choice to exit didn’t sit well with producers. The reunion was filmed at the beginning stages of the pandemic, so the ladies had to have a virtual experience.

Ratings for the final part of the reunion were low. And some wondered if this was due to NeNe’s absence, especially since Yovanna Momplaisir was brought on to make some interesting accusations about NeNe.

Regardless, NeNe took issue with the contract she was offered. According to her, she would have appeared in fewer episodes. So she decided not to return to the show. And she told her fans that she felt like she wasn’t being treated fairly by the higher-ups due to her skin color.

After NeNe announced her exit, she would later call out Andy Cohen on social media. She also accused him of being racist. So some are wondering if she burned a bridge over at Bravo.

As ratings continue to slip, NeNe throws a little shade.

NeNe’s fans continued to be supportive, and a couple even started a petition that urged others to boycott the network. The petition was also created in support of Mariah Huq, who was also pushed off her show, “Married to Medicine.” This didn’t sit well with some people since she’s actually the person who created it.

Interestingly enough, the season 13 premiere didn’t have the best ratings. And the drop was noticed. In fact, the premiere brought in 1.418 million viewers. That’s a loss of 489,000 viewers from the season 12 premiere.

Now the ratings for episode two are in. And it brought in 1.189 million viewers. Ratings haven’t been in this range since season one. That’s also another loss of 229,000 viewers.

As for “Real Housewives of Potomac, ” it also saw a drop. Part one of the reunion brought in 1.174 million viewers. The season finale amassed 1.309 million viewers. That’s a loss of 135,000 viewers.

After fans of the show began to discuss the ratings for episode two of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” NeNe decided to hop on Twitter. And she threw some shade.

She wrote, “Is that the number?”

While she never specified what number she is referring to, many are assuming she’s talking about the latest numbers for “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

On the latest episode, viewers got to meet Drew Sidora and LaToya Forever.

Drew’s issues with her husband were front and center. And LaToya has already gotten pretty tight with Kenya. She also wasn’t afraid to be a little shady towards Drew.

Bravo should have taken the boycott seriously but they chose not to. I suspect M2M’s ratings will be even worse.

RHOP should have much higher ratings. But at least the drop off wasn’t as bad for them. In my opinion, RHOA has lost its appeal. This current cast is doing nothing for me. I prefer Potomac now.

These ratings are horrible. I never thought I would see RHOA slip back down to these kinds of numbers.

Can somebody tell me why Eva’s not on the show no more? Somebody please give me the tea! 😩😂

The production company thought she was too nice and wasn’t bringing anything to the show. I actually liked her on the show.

I cannot stand people who think that Nene will bring the show back to life.

Nene left and came back and still nothing helped breath life into the show. Create a new show Housewives show with new people for Gods sake!

Something is missing. I don’t know if it’s Phaedra, NeNe, Sheree, Kim…h-ll I don’t know who the missing piece is. But the first episode didn’t feel like RHOA to me. And the big four (Kandi, Kenya, Cynthia, Porsha) don’t have interesting storylines this season. I would say maybe it’s time for a cast revamp, but the new girls aren’t making me want to watch either.

  7. I Mean...

This show has lost its flair and even NeNe can’t save it. When you think back to what made RHOA great, you can’t make light of what Carlos King was able to do. He was the best producer this show had and he knew how to bring out the best in everyone. When he was there, everyone had to bring it. Even the husbands.

If the production company would of waited to film instead of doing this during a pandemic the storylines and ratings would be better.

I agree..2020 been hard enough on everyone we need POSITIVE things to watch we tired of the mess!! NENE has nothing to do with it, they are BORING…

Ratings prove NeNe’s absence definitely matters. Also, people still enjoy negative reality shows. Matter of fact, 90 Day Fiancé airs at the same time as RHOA and got about double these numbers. RHOA is in trouble. And it’s much bigger than the pandemic.

This has nothing to do with the pandemic. There were problems before it and ratings will be just as bad next season or worse if changes aren’t made.

      Good point.

Even excellent scripted shows run their course. Bravo is even trying to breathe new life into RHONJ. Why?

Maybe the franchise (no matter the city and state) no longer fits the moment of history. Are we really expected to care about a wedding in the middle of a pandemic? Or not find Kenya’s use of Breonna Taylor’s murder/protests distasteful?

The show has run its course. Neenee aint got nothing to do with the ratings. My whole family was sick of her and stopped watching it 2 years ago. She wasn’t bringing nothing to the show except a feud or some mess with everybody every season. Housewives of Potomac! Monique, Karen and Ashley are entertaing the h-ll outta everybody now!
Let this be RHOA final season and NOt cause of Nono Leaker!

You and your family are in the minority. Ratings keep showing that anytime NeNe isn’t on RHOA, the ratings drop. The only season that did well without her was season 9 and that’s because of Phaedra. RHOA hasn’t run its course. Producers just aren’t making good casting decisions. Likability isn’t how you select a cast. Kandi is likable but she’s boring. Cynthia is likable but she’s boring. I can go on but the wrong people were kept on this show. Reality shows need drama not likable people.

You’re being dishonest if you’re saying the ratings aren’t flopping because NeNe is gone. Last season, ratings didn’t pick up until NeNe made her first appearance. The episodes she missed were the lowest rated. And with that reunion, the last part which she wasn’t on was the least watched reunion of all time. Now y’all said y’all would watch now that NeNe is gone but ratings determined that was a lie. Y’all said Kenya was a ratings draw, ratings determined that was a lie. RHOA has never lost 700,000 viewers in a season. People are boycotting this show and y’all know it. Truth is Phaedra and NeNe are the ones who bring in the ratings. Y’all are so busy fake hating NeNe you forgot to watch RHOA.

I think it’s pretty clear that all those people who said they hated Nene and wouldn’t watch the show while she was on it weren’t telling the truth. 🤷🏾‍♀️

The truth is RHOA at its best is NeNe, Kandi, Kenya, Porsha, Cynthia ( and Peter), and Phaedra. Throw Kim and Sheree in there with Marlo as friends and you will have some good television. NeNe’s absence definitely hurts the show. And the husbands also played a major role in its earlier success. Pillow Talk anyone?

I think Kenya should’ve left the show its starting out slow but they have to bring in the new people.

  14. Yeah I Said It!

    December 16, 2020 at 11:31 am

I told y’all months ago that the ratings would drop but people kept replying to me and saying how much of a non factor NeNe is and how Kenya would keep the ratings up because she’s supposedly the “queen.” LOL. There are way more people who watched for NeNe than you all realize. She’s one of the reasons RHOA became successful in the first place. Now expect the same kind of drop for Married to Medicine. It’s the same situation with Mariah. People want to call her a non factor but the truth will come out next year.

The two new cast members in my opinion bring absolutely nothing to the show. The original cast with all their different petty quirks played off each other well.As it is in real life their different personalities made the show relatable to real life woman to woman friendship. It DEALT with everything from petty jealousy to gossipy situations that is found in a lot of friendships between women. NENE BEING GONE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE!! THIS WHOLE SHOW IS HER IDEA!!! I WILL BE BACK WHEN NE NE DOES. UNTIL THEN I WON’T BE WATCHING. KANDI, PORSCHA . CYNTHIA, KENYA AND NENE THEY ARE RHOA!!!

If you want to see her spitting on people , bring her back… she’s the reason for whatever comes her way

      December 17, 2020 at 10:35 pm

NeNe didn’t spit on anyone. Y’all are committed when it comes to Kenya’s lies. Why can’t y’all be as committed to watching the show now? LOL.
