Marlo Hampton receives some more praise from Kandi Burruss.
Kandi Burruss had “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans speculating after she made an interesting comment about her charity event. She had the ladies come out and help her get food to single-parent families amid the pandemic. And she was very grateful that Marlo Hampton, Porsha Williams, and Drew Sidora donated to her organization, Kandi Cares.
In a green screen interview, Kandi said, “Some people aren’t as giving as I thought they would be.”
This comment made many viewers suspect that some of the ladies in the group didn’t donate at all.
Kandi addressed this during her latest “Speak On It” video. And Don Juan had some things to say as well.
On the event, Kandi said, “One thing I wanted to make clear, there were a few of the ladies that really, really…First of all, I want to say thank you to all of the women for giving their time. I appreciate that.”
She continued, “And I definitely want to say there were some women who really, really gave deep down in their pockets. Okay? I don’t know if how they edited it was kind of weird because I said something about some of the women I thought they would have given more but it came after Marlo had gave her 5000 dollar donation. That was not towards her because I really appreciate what she gave.”
Kandi really wanted to thank Marlo for all her help on that day.
“So I just wanted to make that clear that that comment was not geared towards Marlo. Marlo gave her time during the event, she gave her time…she got up super early in the morning to go with me to the farmer’s market to get the produce and she gave extra financially or whatever. Thank you.”
Some shade is seemingly thrown Kenya Moore’s way.
Don Juan made it clear that he felt a type of way after some people didn’t donate.
“I think the women came out they were sweating it, we had the shields on because we were social distancing. So I think I was good with all of that. I’m just being honest, some of the people I feel like you be riding, riding, for them and they may have gave a little time. But other people was really like, ‘I’m putting my money where my…this is great.'”
He continued, “I’m just being honest on that like…”
Kandi then interjected with, “Everybody don’t put they money where their mouth is.”
Don Juan doesn’t feel like this is fair, “But I don’t think that’s fair. I think I do well for myself but these women be like, ‘Ooh, I’m buying this and I’m buying that.’ And whatever, but my company gave some, Carmon’s company gave some money. And I’m not talking about a hundred dollars, you know what I’m saying?”
His comment about an ice sculpture made many think Kenya is one of the people who didn’t donate. Kenya planned Cynthia’s surprise engagement party and it included an ice sculpture.
“And you know I could buy an ice sculpture for an event but I can’t feed some people? Okay. I’m just being honest.”
He continued, “I’m not counting pockets but the ice sculpture gon melt.”
Porsha Williams gets props.
At this point, Kandi made it clear that she wanted Don Juan to chill out. And she wanted to specify that it wasn’t just one person who didn’t donate any money.
“I mean it’s a couple people that wasn’t necessarily giving.”
Don Juan said that it bothers him because Kandi is always so helpful to those close to her, “But that’s what I’m saying. I just feel like y’all get together, it’s great and fun. But when it comes down to it…and I think I say that because I know how you ride for other people. So I think that’s why I be like if we gon speak on it, let’s really speak on it. I don’t like all of that.”
They then discussed the fact that Porsha showed up to the event on time and donated. This made Kandi realize Porsha really has changed and she has a newfound respect for her.
“At the beginning of the season I think Porsha and I, we were getting cooler. But the fact that she showed up on time to the event and then she had gave you know, a nice donation…I was like okay. I’m like I’m starting to rock with you a little bit more this year.”
Don Juan agreed and admitted that he’s been looking at other people differently.
