Things got really messy between Ceaser and Dutchess.

Ceaser and Dutchess‘ romance is something that diehard “Black Ink Crew” fans remember well. They had a lot of issues but that didn’t stop Ceaser from proposing. When Dutchess came to the conclusion that Ceaser wasn’t being faithful, she was ready to walk away from the relationship. Ceaser also had his doubts about Dutchess’ loyalty as well.

The breakup was messy and most of the people in the shop sided with Ceaser. So things got really contentious and Dutchess decided it would be best to leave the show.

The breakup changed Ceaser’s life.

Although she hasn’t been on “Black Ink Crew” for years, she’s a part of Ceaser’s past that won’t be forgotten. In fact, Ceaser had some things to say about Dutchess during a recent interview with the Rare Knomads Podcast. He was asked to open up about the most defining loss in his life.

In response to this, Ceaser said, “My most defining loss of my life…d*mn. You know the funny thing is I never really thought about that until you really said that sh*t. But my most defining loss of my life I have to say was is when I lost my fiancee. Because you know…it’s not the fact that, you know what I mean, me and her split and all that sh*t. It was the fact that, knowing when you had somebody who like…Jim knows, we from the hood. There’s a lot of things we didn’t grow up knowing like logistics of business and sh*t like that.”

He continued, “So when she left, I had to start second-guessing everything because I didn’t know business. I had two shops at the time. And I’m just still trying to figure it out. But that loss made me who I am right now because I was forced to figure it out. I didn’t have to rely on someone like, ‘Yo, could you do this for me? Could you do this for me so I could succeed?'”

It was time for Ceaser to step up.

Ceaser said that Dutchess leaving made him into a successful businessman.

“Now it’s like God put me in a position that basically, ‘N*gga, don’t ever rely on nobody. You got this sh*t.’ And that point is when I started expanding. As soon as she left, three months later I opened up Black Ink Atlanta. And then from then, I haven’t stopped opening up shops. That’s why it bummed me out you asked me that question because I really never ever thought about that sh*t until right now because that loss in itself help propel me to the man I am right now.”
