NeNe Leakes shares her feelings on “Basketball Wives.”
“Basketball Wives” star and creator Shaunie O’Neal receives a lot of backlash from fans of the show. Over the years, many have felt as if she wasn’t fair to cast members outside of her friend circle. And this made it difficult to last on the show.
The situation with OG only made the complaints increase on social media. Interestingly enough, NeNe Leakes shares the same sentiments as the critics of Shaunie and the show. In fact, she compared Shaunie’s actions to how she feels she was treated on “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
During an interview with the Jasmine Brand, NeNe brought up Shaunie and “Basketball Wives. She said, “I always thought that you could never attack Shaunie. And I would think every time you did, you got put off the show. They weren’t there the next season. And I would always be like, that’s not cool. If you’re on the show, and if you’re doing something that’s wrong, everybody should be able to read you, or question you, or whatever it is.”
She continued, “It always…it doesn’t make for a good show when you can only keep attacking the same people. And the other people never get to get attacked. Or if they do get attacked, then their other alliance or their friends act like what they did wasn’t wrong. But what you did was like huge! But what they did was, ‘It’s okay. She alright. I told her to her face. She fine.'”
NeNe also said that the issue with Shaunie is why she felt the show would suffer in the long run, “So you know, that’s why I felt like their show, ‘Basketball Wives,’ it was going away slowly because you could never attack everybody. And all the good characters, they would get rid of them.”
In related news, NeNe also told the blog that Gregg Leakes’ cancer has returned. He had surgery recently and he’s been in the hospital for a week recovering. But he wants everyone to know he’s in good spirits.
