Eboni K. Williams has been getting called out by RHONY fans.

“Real Housewives of New York” newbie Eboni K. Williams is having a controversial first season on the show. She’s the first black woman ever to become a main cast member. In her attempt to form connections with the other women, she’s already had some tense moments. In fact, she has spoken up about racial microaggressions that people of color are faced with. Eboni has also discussed white fragility, and she had no problem pointing out how interesting it was that she was called angry but her costar Leah McSweeney was not after she got angry and called the other women “h*es” before storming away.

Eboni has also used the RHONY platform to discuss the Harlem Renaissance. So a few of the other women on the show have accused Eboni of being “preachy” and some fans have been calling her out on social media. They have said that they don’t watch the Bravo reality show for “history lessons” and conversations on race and politics. Plus, the ratings haven’t been great.

Interestingly enough, Bravo isn’t backing down from its decision to cast Eboni. In fact, the network showed her support recently amid the backlash.

Eboni is the reason i returned to watching RHNY. Keep up the excellent representation of black women in America and all the issues we face on a daily basis. All of black america is not addicted and living in poverty however we still face racism sexism and outright hatred because of our skin color education and our right to demand respect. Go Eboni. As my soror (AKA) and being a door breaker keep up the good work. Those silly as grandmas need to squirm.

I adore Eboni. At the time of filming, the world was focused on police brutality, racism, and politics. To expect these women to not discuss these topics is insanity. Also, other Bravo shows were discussing these same issues as well. So why is RHONY doing it a problem? A lot of these people are just proving Eboni’s point. I’d like for her and Bershan to return next season.

I’m a white woman and I believe in her continuing to get “preach” with these ladies. They don’t really want to look at themselves for their thoughts OR behavior. Privileged white women are nothing to be proud of. Close your mouths, open your ears and learn something. Oh, and pick up a little humility along the way.
