Prosper’s welcomed home.
The episode begins with Prosper being welcomed by the Bordelons and his daughter Billie. While Prosper’s greeted by Aunt Vi, Hollywood, and Nova, Bonnie’s consoled by Charley.
Later on, Aunt Vi’s packing away food at the diner. Hollywood comes by asking about a large box Aunt Vi’s packing up. She shoos him away but he catches her taking money out of the register, sticking it into the box. Ralph Angel gets not-so-good news from his lawyer. The farmers won’t make it without the settlements. Luckily for Ralph Angel, Bonnie’s helping out with the case. Nova lets them know not to trust Bonnie, however.
Things get tenser when Charley, Nova, and Ralph Angel are greeted by a Sheriff inside of their Farmers Association meeting.
Hollywood meets Celine and Gabriel.
Speaking of tension, Hollywood startles Aunt Vi as she puts the food into her car trunk. To answer him, Aunt Vi takes Hollywood to the hotel where Celine and Gabriel are staying. Celine’s nervous to see Hollywood but he puts her at ease. Celine tells Aunt Vi how her husband Greg abused her and how it got word during the pandemic. She says Greg crossed the line when Greg started putting his hands on Gabriel. Aunt Vi tells Celine that she’s safe and will get through this all.
Back at the meeting, Ralph Angel and the Black Farmers speak up about their funding. However, the white farmers from the county proclaim the settlements for the Black farmers are unfairly targeting just Black farmers and not the White ones. Things get tense when the Government representative says it’s going to take another six weeks before they’ll reach back out.
When Aunt Vi and Hollywood leave the motel, they argue over Aunt Vi not telling Hollywood about Celine and Gabriel. Aunt Vi storms off.
Davis apologizes to Charley’s family.
Micah’s walking down the street near campus when he gets a call from Charley. Charley reminds Micah about dinner at Aunt Vi’s with his dad Davis and the family. Micah’s short with her, saying he wants them both to be happy. However, he also doesn’t want to see his mom get hurt again. When they hang up, Charley says she thought Micah would be happier.
Charley says she doesn’t believe anyone will be against them getting back together. Meanwhile, Nova runs into her neighbors and is in a good mood. However, things change when she finds an envelope with a photo of her that has a bullseye drawn on it. She balls it up and hurries off.
It’s time for dinner at Aunt Vi’s and the Bordelons are setting up for dinner. When Micah enters with his father, Davis is greeted by Ralph Angel and Hollywood. Pleasantries are exchanged by everyone and Aunt Vi is presented with flowers. During dinner, Davis apologizes to the entire family. The apology seemingly goes over well and then Hollywood blesses the food.
Aunt Vi reveals a source of tension between her and Billie.
The next day, The Real Spot is finally open and Aunt Vi is dropping off the food and drink for the event. When she leaves, Ralph Angel introduces Hollywood to his friend Theo. Ralph Angel and Theo met when they were in prison. During the event, Hollywood gets the men in attendance to speak up. Meanwhile, Aunt Vi’s having a girls’ night with the Bordelon ladies. Nova asks Charley if her “Political Folks” know about Davis and Charley brings up how she and Davis are public figures so their relationship could draw attention. While she’s with everyone else, Darla brings up how she has a really bad feeling about something. But Aunt Vi tells her everything will be alright. It’s at this moment how Hollywood met Gabriel and he came across his mom’s hat.
Things get interesting when Nova brings up Billie and how she caused plenty of damage for her and Aunt Vi. Aunt Vi then brings up how Billie slept with Jimmy Dale while they were married.
Ralph Angel receives a proposition from Theo.
When the event winds down, Theo tells Ralph Angel about a job that involves driving a truck full of stolen computer equipment from Landry Enterprises. Ralph Angel says no. Before Theo leaves, he gives Ralph Angel a $100 bill as a “gift for the baby.”
The next day, Darla and Ralph Angel interview a potential doula. Their potential Doula brings up how they need to also find a midwife and that their insurance will cover part of it. When she leaves, Ralph Angel tells Darla they will give her the birth she wants not just want they can afford. When Darla says they should ask for help, Ralph Angel tells her not to give up on him.
On-campus, Micah experiences flashbacks and a panic attack when he sees an armed security officer take off running. His friend tells him he’s having a panic attack. They get him to relax and come down.
Billie reveals a dark secret to Nova and Nova feels regret.
At the diner, Hollywood walks in and sees Corine and Gabriel in a booth. Hollywood bonds with Gabriel. This puts a smile on Aunt Vi’s face. Meanwhile, Nova heads over to Prosper’s with leftovers and sees Billie on the front porch. Billie asks why they don’t talk and Nova asks for an apology. Apparently, Billie outed Nova’s s*xuality to Ernest. Nova says it was vile and Billie says Nova abandoned her in light of her situation with Jimmy Dale. However, Jimmy Dale s*xually assaulted her as an eighteen-year-old high school senior.
No one else would even listen to her but Ernest. Not even Prosper. Out of fear and frustration, Billie told Ernest about Nova’s s*xuality.
Charley and Davis make their relationship social media official.
Lastly, under the night stars, Charley and Davis are celebrating. Davis received an offer to be the next Head Coach of the Los Angeles Dynasty. They toast each other’s accomplishments. Despite these accomplishments, they both are concerned about Charley’s political party and the NBA press and how they will react to their reconciliation.
Davis then asks if Charley would ever move back to LA, Charley says her home is in St Joe but she’ll love being in LA on the weekends. To cement the relationship, they take a selfie and Charley posts it to Instagram.
