The RHOP cast is critical of Chris Bassett’s actions on the latest episode.
Candiace Dillard managed to upset Chris Bassett during her recent blowups on “Real Housewives of Potomac.” He didn’t like how she reacted to Mia Thornton calling her music video shoot low budget. In fact, he said that Candiace’s belief that she has to always respond with low blows is childish.
Chris also felt Candiace’s reaction to Ashley Darby’s comments during dinner was out of control. As she shouted, Chris tried to convince her to go outside with him to calm down. But she snatched away from Chris. And she refused to leave. Instead, she continued to take on Ashley. A frustrated Chris then walked out of the restaurant.
Apparently, a few of the ladies on RHOP weren’t feeling how Chris handled things at the restaurant. During the After Show, Ashley said, “You know, even though Candiace and I were having a disagreement, the way that Chris stood up and raised his voice just made me feel a little uneasy. Candiace is still an adult and at that moment I felt he was talking to her like a child. So even though I couldn’t stand the girl, you know I have my words to say, I did not like watching that interaction between them.”
Gizelle Bryant said the moment made her uncomfortable. “He was kind of like trying to keep her in her seat or move her. It was just a little too much for me that I was uncomfortable.”
Robyn Dixon said Chris had too much to say. “The level to which they were getting into it was unnecessary but I just felt like you could just tell he had a lot to drink. And too much to say.”
Candiace thought it was best Chris went outside alone to cool off. “I wanted Chris to cool off…I know that like he needed a chance to cool off. And if I went over to him too soon, it was gonna escalate and everybody had been drinking.”
Gizelle doesn’t want a married couple to have intense moments like this in front of the group. “I don’t want us to ever get to a place that a husband and wife are treating each other like that in front of the group. Like if y’all are going to do that, cool. Just let Gizelle go home…you know I don’t want to see that.”
She also bright up the time Candiace threw a butter knife at Ashley and Chris had to work hard to restrain Candiace. “I guess as a husband you shouldn’t have to sit on your wife in order to get her to talk to people the way you want her to talk to people. At some point, they’re going to need to get in a place which they just allow each other to be, right? And I know that’s rough because it’s Candiace and her mouth is ridiculous sometimes, but I don’t think sitting on her is the answer.”
