Patrick and Safari’s relationship receives some criticism.
Todd and Kandi have decided it’s time to call a town hall meeting for the staff after Patrick told them some employees made some critical comments about OLG while they were out for drinks.
Patrick comes to OLG with his girlfriend Safari. In a green screen interview, Shawndreca says Patrick always brings his women to the restaurant and she thinks he does it to try to get under her skin since they used to date. The couple talks to Brandon and they plan to come to his birthday dinner.
While Patrick is there, he also tells Torin that he has changed his mind about Torin decorating his new home. And he won’t have a housewarming party for Torin to plan. Instead, Safari will do it. Torin later tells Shawndreca what happened. He is disappointed. Torin feels like he was fired.
The staff comes together to talk about Patrick. They think he has changed since he’s been with Safari. At this point, they don’t even know who he is anymore.
Patrick puts Shawndreca on blast.
Kandi and Todd have decided not to invite Phillip to the town hall meeting. They don’t want the rest of the staff to be afraid to speak their minds because he’s there.
At the town hall meeting, the staff vents. And when Phillip comes up, Melvin says he thinks Phillip is perfect for the job because he did a great job at Blaze. Torin says Phillip acts like he thinks he’s better than everyone else.
Kandi asks Shawndreca her thoughts since she hasn’t said much. When she doesn’t have anything to say, Patrick says Shawndreca had plenty to say the other day. So she should speak up now. And Shawndreca said that the food isn’t consistent.
Melvin says the food should taste the same every day but they were short on staff. So days he wasn’t there, it may have tasted differently. But now they have hired more people. And they have to follow his recipes.
It doesn’t take long for the meeting to go left at this point. Shawndreca and Brandon are accused of being unprofessional. Aunt Bertha says that she spoke to Brandon and he ignored her. So she won’t speak to him again. Things lighten up after Brandon apologizes and hugs her.
Patrick tries to change Safari’s mind.
Patrick tries to smooth things over with Torin. He wants to have him plan the housewarming party but Safari is still not on board with this. And Torin thinks Safari has way too much control over Patrick.
When Patrick asks Safari what’s keeping her from being okay with him having a housewarming party, she says none of the OLG staff should know where he lives. And she’s not comfortable with him being around Shawndreca considering their past.
So Patrick suggests she help him do the guest list. Safari doesn’t want Torin or Shawndreca and her fiancé June there. But she still doesn’t think a party should happen. Patrick then says they can see how things go at Brandon’s dinner. And whoever she likes there can attend the housewarming party.
Rashard and Brian hang out. They discuss Brandon. Both feel it’s not fair that they are held to different standards when a manager is dating an employee. And Brandon lets Dom’Unique get away with a lot because of their romance.
Kandi and Todd talk to Shawndreca.
Don Juan plays audio from the security camera of Shawndreca saying that Todd and Kandi “don’t give a f*ck” about what happens at OLG. This is upsetting for the couple because she’s been a hostess from the start.
Brandon has his birthday dinner. He’s surprised when Dom’Unique shows up. He’s happy to see her and he introduces her to his parents. He tells them he wanted to be with her the first time he saw her.
Patrick pushes Torin and Safari to talk since they had some tension over the housewarming party situation. Although they try to be cordial, it’s clear the tension is still there. In a green screen interview, Torin says Safari shouldn’t even have a say so in this because she doesn’t live with Patrick.
Todd and Kandi talk to Shawndreca about her comments. She doesn’t recall saying Kandi and Todd “don’t give a f*ck.” But she does feel like the staff does what they want with no repercussions. Todd says Shawndreca saying that is bothersome because she knows they do care and they are trying to fix things. And at this point, Kandi wants to know if Shawndreca even still wants to work there.
The episode ends before Shawndreca can answer.
