Dr. Eugene Harris broke down how the “Married to Medicine” cast met.
There are a lot of rumors floating around about the upcoming season of “Married to Medicine.” Interestingly enough, some of the cast have already confirmed some interesting details. Dr. Heavenly confirmed that an altercation did take place while the cast filmed season 9. She told fans that she wasn’t involved. So fans have been speculating just who could have gotten physical at Quad Webb’s holiday party.
Fans have also noticed that some friendships have changed a lot since last season. Heavenly is no longer on good terms with Dr. Contessa Metcalfe. And Contessa has gotten closer to Toya Bush-Harris and Dr. Simone Whitmore.
Interestingly enough. Dr. Eugene Harris recently did an interview with Gary With Da Tea. And he said that the relationships the cast have with each other are one of the reasons why the show became successful.
And he discussed how they all met, “I think another reason we’ve been successful is because we all kind of already knew each other. At least that principal group. When I came out of residency, with my specialty training, and moved back to Atlanta, I already had a job lined up. It wasn’t going to start for another month. But I already knew Dr. Damon [Kimes] cause he was about 5 years ahead of me in school.”
He continued, “So I reached out to him. He was a medical director at the hospital near Atlanta. I was like, ‘Hey. I got this job. It’s starting up but can I just do a couple of shifts at your place until my main gig kicks in?’ He was like, ‘Sure.'”
Eugene added, “So that’s how we met Dr. Heavenly, Dr. Damon.”
He also explained how he and Toya met Dr. Jackie Walters and Dr. Simone Whitmore, “When we were getting ready to have kids, my wife originally went to Dr. Jackie. But she actually fired Dr. Jackie because they didn’t get along patient and doctor-wise. And we ended up going to another OBGYN. But that’s how we met Dr. Simone, Dr. Jackie cause they were in practice together at the time. And Mariah…”
Gary interjected, “The creator.”
Eugene continued, “Absolutely, we can never leave her out. I actually was the medical director at a hospital around 2009. And I hired Dr. Aydin. And just by chance, I was like, ‘Hey, I heard this guy is from Bangladesh. He’s Bangladeshi, he’s married to a Black girl.'”
Toya ran into Mariah, too, “And Toya was like, ‘I was at a party and I met a Black girl married to a Bangladeshi.’ That was the same person.”
The husbands clashed while filming season 9?
At first, Eugene and Toya declined to do the show, “So it was like it just happened so organically. Then when Mariah was like, ‘Hey, I got an idea…’
At first, it was a documentary. We said no. Then she said I’ma turn it into a reality show. We said no again. And then it was almost a year later that she came back one more time like, ‘I think y’all would be perfect for this.'”
Eventually, they decided life’s too short to not take a chance at reality television, “And we were like okay. We were like you only live once. So why not?”
Eugene also told Gary that the husbands have a heated moment on the upcoming season, “And Gary, a little nugget for the next season, this is one of the first seasons coming up that the men got a little loud with each other. I ain’t gonna say what man but there was a little bit of…the women rubbed off on us just a little tiny bit. But we resolved it like men and it’ll be very entertaining.”
If this season is dry like the last one I will have an attitude.
They are pulling out all the stops huh?
Hmmm this is surprising.
This show is not worth my time anymore. These are BLACK DOCTORS ACTING A DANG FOOL, JUST FOR THE CAMERA.
I mean this season sounds really entertaining but I hope these people aren’t selling their souls for Bravo checks.
