Destiny and Melody vent to their friends about their falling out.
The episode starts off with Melody excited for Taco Tuesday. She’s out with Kimmi and Stormi catching up as it’s the first time they hung out since Melody’s pajama party.
Of course, they recap what happened. Stormi lets them know she did catch up with Tiffany and they’re in a good place. Next, Melody explains how she knows Keke which is through a mutual friend of 14 years. However, Kimmi is still confused about Melody inviting Keke to the party but she surmises that it was Melody’s party and it was her prerogative.
Lastly, Melody tells Kimmi and Stormi that she and Destiny will never be good friends again. Things get interesting when Kimmi lets Melody about Jaylin’s housewarming. Interestingly enough. Kimmi isn’t warm about inviting Martell and Melody lets her know she should’ve felt this way previously. She thinks it’s interesting that Kimmi has concerns now because Martell did something that affected her. And since Melody already let her know she wouldn’t be going to any events Martell attends, Kimmi decides to just invite Melody. Melody accepts.
Martell calls out Melody.
Later on, Destiny stops by Martell’s place and vents about Melody. Destiny tells Martell about her sit down with Melody and repeats how she’s friends with “her ops” LaTisha and Martell. Martell goes off as he feels Melody’s trying to turn all of his friends against him and doesn’t even believe she and Destiny are real friends.
Destiny then brings up how she called him out as he was going through the divorce. So she thought she was loyal. Lastly, she tells Martell it feels like she’s by herself in Huntsville and doesn’t have “a village” around her.
Interestingly, however, Martell believes she and Melody can patch things up eventually.
LaTisha tells Wanda about Keke.
Meanwhile, Miss Wanda stops by LaTisha’s to visit Marsau. However, Marsau isn’t home and she’s ready to get serious about the food truck. So serious, she got her business license. LaTisha brings up how he didn’t like how Wanda brought up the rumor of him having a secret apartment with Martell.
After they talk business, LaTisha brings up her back and forth with her cousin Keke. When she tells Wanda about the things Keke said about LaTisha at Melody’s event, Wanda is furious. Wanda calls Keke a snake. They also believe Keke is jealous of LaTisha. She also reminds LaTisha to be wary of those who “buy shoes without shoeboxes.”
Lastly, Wanda feels Kimmi “shed some of her snake” for telling LaTisha about Keke’s antics and Keke needs to watch her back.
The next day, Melody stops by Tiffany’s office and Tiffany welcomes the break from her job. During their conversation, Tiffany speaks about still wanting a new baby and is on a search to find her biological father. In fact, Tiffany’s going to Utah to look into it and Melody’s ears perk up. As Melody gets excited to help, Tiffany invites Melody to join her on the trip.
Miss Wanda confronts Keke.
In an effort to defend her daughter, Miss Wanda stops by Keke’s and Keke brings up the conversation she had with LaTisha in light of what was said at Melody’s pajama party. Wanda calls Keke messy. Keke doesn’t like this.
Keke also brings up how LaTisha told Melody very personal business about her and Wanda says LaTisha was talking to a person she thought was a friend. Interestingly, Keke calls Melody a friend. Lastly, Wanda says it was stupid to bring up what LaTisha did four years ago. Keke then brings up long-standing family drama between her and LaTisha which has been there since they were kids. In fact, she’s sick of her dad and Wanda saying she’s jealous of LaTisha and vice-versa.
Louis hears about the change of plans from Tiffany.
Tiffany got an AirBnB for the weekend and surprises Louis with a chef and sax player. Louis is impressed with what Tiffany laid out. During their dinner, Louis learns about Tiffany inviting Melody on the trip to find out more about her biological father. Louis was blindsided by the news and says it “stung a little.” Interestingly enough, Louis never met her biological mother. He planned to travel with Tiffany as she started her search for her dad.
Next, when Tiffany brings up having another child, Louis says he’d rather use the time when their older kids leave to spend time with Tiffany. However, Louis’ answer isn’t one Tiffany likes.
What are your thoughts about the episode?
Question: What’s with spouses taking trips without spouses?
For a storyline. And I’m over it.
Kimmie is the only adult on the show. I feel for Melody for what she had to go through with Martell but d*mn move on now and take the rest of the petty sh*t starting cast with you. All of the he said she said is rather exhausting. How old are they 12?
And further more Melody was being messing when she invited KeKe to her pajamas party so she could talk about Latisha’s husband controlled marriage. I do not like Martell, Latisha, Marsau etc but Melody does not have the right to tell anybody who they can invite to their events or who they can like. She did not like that Kimmie said Martell had a good heart. Well that is her thought. And if Melody didn’t go to Jalen’s housewarming she implied that Kimmie should not invite Martell. Again I can not stand Martell but as a grown woman you can not dictate who I talk to. Just like she invites enemies to other people to her events. Girl sit down
Melody doesn’t want to be around Martell and that’s her right. I’m personally glad because seeing them fight every season was so toxic and draining. Kimmi and others will be just fine inviting one or the other. And I get it. But I do wonder how the reunion will work.
This show is full of stereotypes. It’s crazy that OWN is going from Queen Sugar to…this.
