Todd Tucker had financial success before Kandi Burruss.
Kandi Burruss is not here for anyone taking shots at Todd Tucker. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened on the current season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Marlo Hampton has accused Kandi of taking care of Todd. He’s already expressed that it’s been frustrating to be put in Kandi’s shadow when he has his own accomplishments. Interestingly enough, comments like these came up when Todd’s daughter Kaela Tucker appeared on “Speak On It.”
Kaela told Aone that she actually agreed with Todd’s thoughts about how a trust fund and will should dish out an inhertitance. She said, “So what you said about the willā¦I kinda agree with my dad though. I feel like we should get stuff sporadically.”
Although some RHOA fans and Kandi believe Todd can be too strict about giving his children money, Kaela wanted to stress that she appreciated her upbringing. However, some people have gotten it twisted. She was living a luxurious life before Todd met Kandi, “And Iāve always seen stuff. Like this isnāt new. He worked at BETā¦penthouse.”
She continued, “We was cool, we was chilling. No for real, because I hate when people be trying to make it seem likeā¦” Aone then said, “He came into money when he got with Kandi.”
Kaela agreed. And she once again clarified that their lifestyle was good prior to Kandi and Todd’s romance, “We were chillingā¦we was good, we had a good lifestyle. I lived in a penthouse in Jersey overseeing New York. I think thatās pretty good.”
Negative comments have been tough for Kaela Tucker.
RHOA fans can be harsh on social media, so Kaela has learned to use her block button, “Now Iām a blocker. You say something, youāre blocked. Iām not saying ****. Nothing. Youāre blocked. No lie, this took me years to get there.”
At times, the harsh comments took a toll on her emotionally.
“I was like this is horrible. Even people commenting saying certain things, even from the show, how they edit things. This was very new to me. So I was like this is horrible. Iām a loving personā¦I was like this is horrible. Why do people do this? And thatās honestly the reason you donāt be seeing me on TV for real because I canāt. But it was a lot of emotional trauma back then.”
She added, “It took me a long time to get here. I used to cry a lot.”
Kaela was bothered about the nasty things being said about her and Todd, “I used to tell my mom, ‘They donāt know him, they donāt know us. **** why are they going so crazy on us?'”
She also opened up about her relationship with her stepsister Riley Burruss, “We donāt see each other, we donāt call each other, we donāt text each other. Yeah, I mean thatās the real.” Regardless, Kaela said Riley knows she can call her anytime, “Sheās enjoying herself, enjoying her life. I told her, if she needs me, call me. Iām a cab away, train away. I am here.”
According to Kaela, she and Riley don’t ever hang out even though they both live in New York. But she doesn’t think it’s a problem, “I donāt think itās nothing wrong.” As of now, Riley and Kaela only see each other when the family comes together.
Kaela has been busy with her career. She is currently a production coordinator at Paramount Pictures.
Iāve said on her numerous times that the reads about Todd are dumb because the man was making at least six figures before Kandi. He had a whole resume before her. You canāt erase his accomplishments just because Kandi has the higher net worth. And Kandi already said he made her richer with his ideas. So how is he broke or a sugar baby? Marlo and people who agreed with that narrative need to stop it.
Kaela is doing big things and so is Riley. Just warms my heart.
I donāt think people understand how much money producers make. When Todd met Kandi, he had years of experience. He was far from broke and actually had money. People only look down on him because he wasnāt as rich as Kandi but the real tea is Todd was making more money than all the people who drag him, including Marlo and Sheree.
I’ve said this from the beginning Todd doesn’t need Kandi’s money he has his own so this “Storyline” always has bothered me because it’s not true. As for people going after Kaela that is disgusting this still a child so there’s no need to do that I am still upset at Mama Joyce for that.
Sadly these fans donāt seem to remember that these are still people at the end of the day. Going on their pages to type hateful things is so low vibrational and evil. Just enjoy the entertainment and stop taking it so seriously.
So Kaela is gorgeous! Riley as well! Okay, with that out of the way, I understand it’s been hard to see people constantly downplay Todd. I’ve also seen people write really mean things about Kaela too while they compare her to Riley. The way we really don’t protect young black girls and women is so sick to me. And people need to stop acting like Todd is a bum. Mama Joyce started that narrative and it’s unfortunate because it’s like it’s never going away.

Honestly, I’m glad this conversation is happening. For years many people would assume Todd didn’t do much or anything, but I think that narrative started honestly with kandi’s mother. Momma joyce would clown todd and say todd basicly don’t have anything. Truly seemed to discount his past resume in production. I don’t know his finances and frankly it’s on one business, but I think Kandi and Todd makes a great team so everyone should stop disrespecting that man. A black man who is in a partnership, a marriage being the power couple. Kandi lights up every time she speaks of him, that is so sweet. You can tell that’s real love, imo, and I love to see it. Todd gives practical and sound advice that makes sense. He is a long term individual, and honestly some people should take note. Seems to motivate kandi too. I’m glad his family has a united front to stand up for him. I actually think that’s really cool. But hey not everyone appreciates strong bondsš¤·š½āāļø
I’m tired of people belittling him and coming at him sideways as well because he’s raising and actively involved in his daughter’s life unlike so many men and he wants her be responsible and know no the worth of a dollar and how to work for it not just to have things given to you
Remember, Todd didnāt wanna sign the prenup, He didnāt have much money as Kandi and she still was putting out a lot of money fur the Restaurant and everything else . So Marlo not lying at all . Sorry
Marlo lies as much as she breathes. Todd didnāt agree to everything in the prenup presented to him. Itās called negotiations. Once the prenup became one he felt was fair, he signed it like any rational human being. But letās be clear, Todd has more money than Marlo and the people who keep dragging him on the internet. Social media has yāall feeling real comfortable talking recklessly about people when yāall aināt nowhere near as successful as the people yāall are criticizing. Marlo is a hater.
