Ralph Angel landed a new job.
The final season begins with Ralph Angel working on a fisherman’s boat off the coast. He’s working on the boat until the Co-Op settlement goes through and he’s hopeful his father Ernest is proud of him.
Meanwhile, Darla is with Aunt Vi and Hollywood. Darla gave birth to their daughter recently. She’s hopeful the Co-Op can come through so Ralph Angel can stop working multiple jobs.
Off the boat, Ralph Angel meets Trinh Phan and receives a gift from her and Trinh’s mom. He takes the gift to Darla after work.
Meanwhile, Micah calls his mom at his new apartment as he lets out his newest fling. Isaiah texts Micah a photo of his new love interest Bryce.
Prosper talks to his daughter before she heads out to work on the farmer’s reverse discrimination case and Nova takes in the scenery of a farm with her man Dominic.
While at home, Nova and Dominic’s article regarding the mass grave on the Bordelon land excites them both.
Aunt Vi and Hollywood are at Vi’s Pies when they’re impressed with Joaquin’s modification of a pie recipe. They’re apprehensive regarding everything that occurred previously but they’re warming up to him.
While at a gallery, Micah runs into Keke. She’s an assistant for his photography professor and he’s happy to have run into her.
Ralph Angel’s plan for the co-op gets a big boost and endorsement.
Outside of the Co-Op, Ralph Angel is waiting on Mo Evans, and Darla checks in with one of the farmers who’s almost 90 days past due on the mortgage. Mo eventually arrives and Ralph Angel shows her around. Nova is introduced to Mo and they seemingly hit it off.
During a meeting with the co-op farmers, Mo speaks up and motivates them to keep up with the progress they already have in spite of the financial issues. Their mood changes when they learn their application to join the Southern Louisiana association of Co-Ops is approved. This news helps them stick together.
After the meeting, Billie speaks to one of the farmers and is invited to a bonfire and asked out on a date. She’s impressed with the farmer’s persistence. Meanwhile, Micah’s invited to walk down the river with Keke. After declining to smoke with her, he eventually accepts the invitation. Prosper also nervously asks Sandy out on a date.
While at home, Nova gets an offer to sell the movie rights of her book to Oprah. The news is bittersweet as it brings back memories of how her family reacted when the book was released.
Sam Landry reveals one final plan to gain the Bordelon land.
Darla and Ralph Angel’s daughter is being christened and the ceremony will begin shortly. Blue and Charley can’t make it but they call in. Darla and Ralph Angel reveal their daughter is named after Ralph Angel’s mother; Tru.
After the ceremony, Micah expresses confusion about his feelings for Keke and Nova listens. Nova then tells Billie about the movie offer and she promises to not tell anyone about it. Aunt Vi walks in and they quickly change the conversation to Dominic.
Next, Ralph Angel delivers a speech to the family before he adds Tru’s name to the family book. Sam Landry stops by the farm and is greeted by an angry Aunt Vi, Nova, and Ralph Angel. He also delivers some news. Due to Parker’s ancestry being part Bordelon, she’s able to file to overturn the petition to turn the farm into a historical site.
Aunt Vi warns Sam to not pursue this avenue, alluding to a huge secret between the two of them.
