Melody Shari dropped Holt as her last name.
“Love & Marriage: Huntsville” star Martell Holt has some complaints about how Melody Shari has been moving since their divorce. Now that their custody issues have played out, Melody is moving forward with changing her last name. As we reported, Melody found out Martell sued her for full custody of their children when she tried to change her last name. She was told she could not change her last name while the custody case was pending. So she planned to tackle the issue as soon as the custody battle concluded. Martell’s actions during their time in court confirmed to Melody that she needed to part ways with Holt as her last name. And it looks as if Melody did just that in future episodes.
On the upcoming episode, Nell Fletcher tells Martell that Melody invited her to her name-change party. Martell confirms he is bothered by the event. So he’s going to pay close attention to who attends the party.
Martell Holt thinks Melody Shari’s name-changing party was spiteful.
Martell says, “For me, I wanna know everybody who goes to it that says they’re my friends. Cause I won’t be there.”
Nell responds, “So you saying I shouldn’t attend?” And Martell answers, “No, you shouldn’t.”
Nell goes on to say that it is typical for women to have a divorce party. Martell says what Melody is doing is very different, “A divorce party, we divorced two years ago. Divorce party, I understand. Name change party? No. That’s almost like a slap in my face.”
Martell has more to say in a green screen interview, “I feel like the Fletchers should not attend the name-changing ceremony because they should know that it’s almost like Melody’s being spiteful by even having a ******* party, a name-changing party, from my last name. It’s not like it’s something amazing that she did with the name Rogers.”

I get the name change. I went back to my maiden name when I divorced because I wanted my own individuality, the community recognized me only as my ex’s wife. But to have a name changing party is in my opinion is being spiteful. Mel is being messy! Ijs
