KeKe passes the drug test.
The episode begins with Melody convincing Keke to take a drug test. Melody wants her to do this to prove LaTisha and Marsau wrong. KeKe agrees and takes the test that Melody purchased while at the facility. The test shows immediate results and it shows negative for all known drugs.
With this test, Melody hopes KeKe and Ameen can move on from what happened and focus on their family.
After this, Melody mentioned that she heard about their move from Tiffany. They explain that they’re moving to avoid any controversy with their son possibly violating HS transfer rules and feel like Tiffany is being messy, again.
Marsau holds himself accountable.
Meanwhile, Marsau’s shocked LaTisha’s packing their clothes for a 5-day vacation. He’s not excited about it but LaTisha is looking forward to the vacation with their family. This leads to them recapping Maurice’s BBQ and Marsau saying he should’ve behaved better than he did. But LaTisha lays all the blame on KeKe and reiterates she’s done with her. He also says he squashed things with Stormi in light of the revelation Stormi’s dealing with a friend and their addiction.
Things take a turn when Marsau mentions under his breath that LaTisha doesn’t hold herself accountable. LaTisha hears this and asks what she hasn’t been accountable for the past 30 days and Marsau mentions her brushing off Melody’s feedback about the Business Expo. LaTisha disagrees with this.
Melody’s petition to change her last name is granted.
Later on, Melody’s meeting with her event planner to go over details for a very special event. Her mom Vanessa joins in on the planning. The event is to commemorate Melody’s name change finalized. She was finally able to change her name from Holt to her maiden name Rogers.
Melody mentions to them both that she will have two armed security guards. In her interview, she mentions she travels with security now in light of having a “crazy a** ex,” referring to Martell. But despite this planning, Melody isn’t sure that the judge truly finalized the name change. So, she has an envelope from the court. Luckily, the court document confirms that she changed her name.
The news brings tears of joy to Melody and Vanessa as Melody feels liberated to be free from Martell.
KeKe’s fed up with Tiffany and LaTisha’s done talking about Keke.
Meanwhile, Keke’s cleaning up her new place when Stormi stops by. KeKe apologizes to Stormi for her actions and Maurice’s BBQ and explains what triggered her. During their conversation, KeKe refers to Marsau as “LaTisha’s Wife” and a madam. Things are so bad right now, that KeKe tells Stormi that she wishes she didn’t love LaTisha.
Next, KeKe mentions she’s fed up with Tiffany and Stormi asks if it’s because of her comments made about KeKe on Carlos King’s podcast. She felt that the interview was comical. KeKe then mentions that Tiffany’s been talking badly about Canvas Beauty and KeKe moving away from their current school district because of their son. Stormi really isn’t sweating Tiffany, however.
The next day, Melody invites Kimmi and LaTisha for a workout date. After the workout, the ladies spend time catching up. Of course, LaTisha speaks about KeKe and how she doesn’t want her lifestyle around her. In fact, LaTisha strongly believes KeKe is still using. But when Melody begins to ask deeper questions surrounding Marsau’s latest infidelity rumor, LaTisha shuts down and leaves.
Martell goes off on Nell.
Lastly, Martell stops by Chris and Nell’s house to drop off a few bottles of his Inest wine for them to try. Nell feels this is a good time to tell Martell about Melody’s name change celebration. First, she asks how he feels about her changing her last name and he says that it hurts. She then tells Martell she’s attending and Martell says she shouldn’t attend.
He feels the party is a slap in his face and says the Fletchers attending is shady. Of course, this divulges into an argument when Martell brings up Melody allegedly having an affair, referring to the time she dated someone when they were separated. He even says Melody cheated multiple times.
Nell says she doesn’t believe Martell when he says that Melody had multiple affairs during the marriage. Nell says that she will ask Melody. Overall, Nell is supporting Nell and will attend the ceremony. It’s at this point that Martell feels the Fletchers chose Melody over him.
To make things worse before he leaves, Martell says that women don’t hold other women accountable for their own infidelity.
What are your thoughts about the episode?
Who does Martell think he is? He was the one that choose to have a lengthy affair for years and being reckless and not protecting himself , he gets someone pregnant and expects Mel and everyone else to just ignore his behavior. I’m so glad Mel is taking back her maiden name. It’s not a slap in his face it’s a sign of her own power because I’m sure he’s been using her name as clout for himself. By her going by Melody Shari Rogers he can no longer be associated with her positive image. The nerve of him threatening anyone that would attend the party…..Boy bye!!
You got that right.
Martell ‘Deflexxion’ Holt needs to stop throwing tantrums when he can’t have his way.
Tiffany has had her baby so she had better watch out for Keke and Stormi.
I’m very proud of Melody and her looking out for herself. Yeeesss girl! Take your name back. Undo those Holt shackles!!
