Evelyn Lozada’s recent attempt to expose Jackie Christie isn’t landing with a lot of BBWLA fans.
“Basketball Wives” fans had a lot to say about the recent episode on social media. Evelyn Lozada hired a private investigator to dig into Jackie Christie’s past. This comes after Jackie told Jac’Eil Duckworth that Doug Christie is her fourth husband. She also said that she was put in the foster care system when she was a child and eventually was raised by a white family. And they used to put mayonnaise in her hair allegedly. The investigator claimed Jackie was arrested in 1987 for prostitution under a different name. This claim left Evelyn in a state of shock.
While Evelyn expressed that she believed the information was a big deal, some fans disagreed. They don’t understand why Jackie’s alleged past from nearly 40 years ago was made into a major storyline. Others are pointing out that Evelyn’s actions show her hypocrisy considering she was against Vanessa Rider investigating the past of Jennifer Williams‘ fiancé.
One X user wrote, “They picked on @VanessaRider last season for digging up info on that weird guy Jen is with but when they do it to someone that’s actually been a part of this show from the beginning, nobody cares? Smfh they’re trash. 🗑️ #BBWLA #BasketballWives.”
Ratings are still on a steep decline.
Another person on X wrote, “Jackie’s past is NONE of Evelyn’s business! Evelyn is still a mean girl she hasn’t changed a bit! Why didn’t she say anything about wanting to be an investigator when she went off on Vanessa for investigating out Jennifer’s man? #hypocrite”
Interestingly enough, ratings aren’t great. The last episode brought in 257,000 viewers. The midseason premiere brought in 209,000 viewers. These numbers are the lowest in the show’s history. Likely, a good portion of the viewership isn’t interested in focusing so much on Jackie’s past. One X user thinks it’s not a good look to try to shame someone for allegedly doing s-x work in the 80s.
“Evelyn is the main reason I don’t watch this show. l was tuned in to the Orlando spin-off because I knew I wouldn’t have to see with her. Possible s*x work in the 80s isn’t the gag she thought it was… I still prefer Jackie over her.”
They deserve the bad ratings. Until Viacom accepts the majority of us don’t want to see Evelyn, this show will continue to flop. They accepted Evelyn’s racism and thought we’d forget. Nope. I’ll watch clips here and there but I truly don’t care anymore.

This is production fault. Why should Evelyn be allowed to ‘get even’ with a cast member when it’s should be about focusing on your own goals and career? Why now should we see the cast members past history if they have 1? Man stop it because it’s not that important
It’s stale tea that’s why. Jackie told Laura season one that she had been married multiple times and used to be in the streets when she was young. Evelyn is too unlikable to keep targeting the only wives on the show.
Why is Evelyn on the show anyway? She was never a basketball wife…She is so messy and think that she runs the show..She has had many men in her…The show is not worth watching with her on it…To damn hypocritical when she has the worse life of them all…She want to be relevant, but ain’t worth shyt..

I don’t think producers actually paid attention to how many fans they lost with the OG situation. Half the audience walked away just from that alone. Black women are tired. We are done supporting reality shows that don’t respect us. There’s too many good shows to keep watching toxicity like this. Right now I’m really enjoying House of the Dragon. And I’m waiting for P Valley’s return. Reality television is so boring now.

Evelyn and Shaunie are NOT the OGs everyone wants to see. Ratings would be higher if Tami, Malaysia, Draya, etc returned. But none of them want to return and I don’t blame them.

Not to mention I haven’t watched 1 episode but I know in the past Evelyn has always been a very nasty grudgeful person. Evelyn can talk about everyone else’s daughter, but she gets defensive if you mention her daughter. Now they are targeting Jackie, just like with OG and Cece. These girls always find something to use against others. Jackie can sue Evelyn for defamation of character. Jackie keeps the show going without her there are no Basketball Wives.
Jeniffer is also two-faced, she talks behind Jacki’s back yet pretends to be her friend. Ever since Evelyn came back the show has been heading on a downward spiral.
