Evelyn Lozada and OG’s feud was one of the most controversial feuds to take place on “Basketball Wives.”

Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada is back on the show after she stepped away during her feud with OG. As we reported, OG accused Evelyn of racism. OG also felt like she was treated differently by all of her coworkers due to colorism. One thing OG pointed to that bothered her a lot was the fact that she was not allowed to sit on the reunion stage. OG was told she couldn’t do so because the other women were afraid of her. They labeled her as violent and aggressive. OG said this was unfair when Evelyn was allowed to sit on the stage. During that season, Evelyn ran up on CeCe Scott with a bamboo stick. Plus, OG pointed out that Evelyn has had a solid history of aggression and violence since she’s been on the platform.

At the height of Evelyn and OG’s feud, Evelyn posted a laughing monkey emoji to Instagram Story. OG felt like the post was a jab directed her way. In response, OG called out Evelyn. She went on to accuse Evelyn of being racist. Evelyn denied that the post was a shot at OG and she went on to sue OG for defamation. OG countersued Evelyn for emotional distress.

To no surprise, fans of the show had strong reactions to the situation. Some agreed that there was a colorism issue and OG was being treated unfairly. They proceeded to call out Evelyn on social media. In 2021, Evelyn did an interview to confirm she was walking away from the show. Now she is back for Season 11. Some are happy about Evelyn’s return. Others believe she shouldn’t be back due to what happened with OG.

The colorism accusations were addressed by Evelyn Lozada during her latest interview.

Evelyn was asked about the controversy during her recent interview with Hollywood Unlocked.

She said, “I felt like no matter what I say, people are going to have their own opinions based on their own experience or whatever they see on the show. People like Jennifer (Williams)…if I was this person, I feel like Jennifer, for example, my best friend for many years could have been like, you know what, she said some funny things around me maybe when we weren’t friends. But no one has ever said anything like this about me. I have filmed so many scenes drunk Jason in Miami and I’ve done crazy things and I’ve said crazy things out of my mouth. I’ve never said anything racist.”

Evelyn continued, “I always say I don’t think like that. I grew up in New York.”

She said New York was too diverse for her to be bigoted, “The Latinos hung out with the Blacks, the Dominicans, the Indians like we all rock together. So it was really, really hurtful cause anybody can say anything about anybody and try to destroy our entire life off a viral moment. And here you are like ****, that’s not who I really am.”

Evelyn added, “I still think to this day people have their opinions about it but I think just look at my life and how I’ve been on TV for the last decade and the person that I am. And you know that’s not who I am to the core. So it was difficult.”

  1. It still doesn’t stop her or anyone from making a racist comment. It was done in a moment of trying to infect hurt. It was a bad impulse, just say, “I made a mistake.” I think making excuses made it worse and saying OO was violent when Evelyn was the one who has actually put her hands on others and tried to.

  2. She sounds like Erica Mena and she’s playing the victim like her too. Being from New York doesn’t mean you can’t be racist or colorist.

  3. Ever since Tami Roman left Basketball Wives 🏀, this show hasn’t and never will be the same. People are being attacked and leaving. Sad

  4. This comment is to OG reference Evelyn Lozada. OG just stop all this separatism! You always wanted it to look like colorism but it is not! There were other Black woman on the set who have just as much darkness in their complexion as you. You wanted everyone to believe it was all about your darkness. Did you know the ethnic group of Evelyn’s background is African! So she is of the Black race too. Most Puerto Rican are of the African and Taino Indians race. Most of us Black Americans have so many other races in our blood. Not many Black Americans are of full African race. So get over what you are trying to apply. She wasn’t implying that you were a monkey, you took that message the wrong way. OG your attitude throughout the full season was negative and irony and not just with Evelyn but with the other ladies too. You always wanted to fight and you did not get along with many. You felt inferior but to your “OWN” misunderstandings. You are in America in which many of us Blacks have African heritage but with many other races combined too. So stop all this colorism and separatism so that you will understand that we as Black people need to make it better among ourselves. When you have any black blood, you are considered Black. Stop the separatism for we have been fighting this way too long! … and maybe reality TV was not for you.

  5. OF came across as aggressive and things she said about and to the other cast members made her a bully. Evelyn talked about her toes which was wrong. When it came to racism I do not see it because other cast members were of darker complexion . It’s reality TV so you will definitely see drama, this is not the only show that behaves like this. Like thee we reunion coming drama between some of them that you did not see in the season.

  6. Plenty of colorist Latina’s who love Black D but treat Melanated Black Women like crap! I live in NYC🙄.

Cyn Santana and Evelyn Lozada think they are better but always get treated them same

  7. Okay, even if I give Evelyn the benefit of the doubt and say she’s not racist, she didn’t address the fact that OG was not allowed to sit on the stage because they were “scared”. OG did not put her hands on anyone but Evelyn has hoped over tables to fight , threw wine bottles, chased people with sticks BUT she was allowed on stage and OG wasn’t 🤔

  8. Sooo what OG was experiencing was not colorism but she not pretty and the fact that she’s dark skinned really makes it difficult for her. Don’t get me wrong, she’s not an ugly woman, she has her qualities. I’ve watched this show as long as it has been on and you guys are correct about Evelyn. She has acted violently, she’s physically attacked people including her bestie. How is she still on the show? Her other bestie makes it happen. As for OG, she plays football and kept telling people she was going to unalive them. Let me back track, she said it to the little chick. Honestly I don’t think she would have done much. Who wants to go to jail cause a dis tract.
