Destiny Payton’s ongoing legal saga against her ex-husband continues.

An update occurred in an Alabama court involving “Love and Marriage: Huntsville” star Destiny Payton’s divorce and legal issues versus her ex-husband, La’Berrick Williams. Last week, a judge ruled against Destiny in her ongoing divorce dispute against La’Berrick. As previously reported, La’Berrick re-opened the divorce late last year and accused Destiny of not following their divorce decree.

In various court documents, he claimed Destiny made it very difficult to sell their marital home after the divorce. He also said Destiny failed to refinance the home in her name and failed to help pay the mortgage on the property and certain medical bills for their son. La’Berrick accused Destiny of missing or being late to multiple pick-up and drop-off times as part of their joint custody of their son and speaking despairingly of him in interviews. It is noted in the order documents that Urban Belle obtained that the court modified the decree in 2023, two years after the initial divorce was finalized. Within the modification, either party could hold the other in contempt if they didn’t follow the divorce decree.

Destiny Payton receives a suspended sentence in her divorce case against La’Berrick Williams.

The judge agrees with La’Berrick on his claims that Destiny broke multiple terms of the divorce decree. This includes conducting the interviews in which she spoke about the marriage despite agreeing not to do this in the divorce. Therefore, the judge held Destiny in contempt on nine counts. They issued a 45-day suspended jail sentence for two years. The judge also issued nine 5-day sentences for each charge to be served consecutively.

Destiny must adhere to all aspects of the latest divorce decree to stay out of jail, including not speaking despairingly about La’Berrick and following their co-parenting schedule. She must also pay La’Berrick $12,779.13 for attorney fees. This includes the fees she was supposed to give La’Berrick per their decree modifications in 2023.

$1,170.77 for unpaid medical bills for their child.

$639.83 for her share of homeowner association fees and assessments.

$4,093.64 for unpaid mortgage payments.

According to the order, all money must be paid to La’Berrick within 30 days to avoid serving her sentence. This case also doesn’t settle the open criminal case against Destiny. In this case, La’Berrick accused Destiny of forging his name on documents to obtain a utility bond from the local power company.

  1. Not for nothing but I see why Moses moved on with Suni, his wife. Destiny needs to get her life in order and leave Mises and his wife alone. The people backing Destiny in this battle between her, Moses, and his wife need to step back. From what I see Destiny has serious issues which may be mental in nature. Now I see why she is on the show, she needs a lit of money to pay back her husband and her son’s medical bills. My advice she needs to get a real job with medical benefits and leave the realty show alone.

  2. This atricle is for all you that jumped on Destiny side. I knew from her last season she was a big sneak. Now she is using Suni for a story line so she don’t have to reveal she is broke and a crook. If you are not married to a guy or engaged that man is still in play.

  3. Seems like Destiny should have been more invested in her then husband, LaBerrick, than Moses. Maybe he wouldn’t have went so hard on his baby mama when the fallout happened.

  4. I think that she needs to focus on her well-being and seek anger management. Get out of the material world and get her finances in order. If she is robbing Peter to pay Paul somethings wrong. I understand friends wanting to help out, but for how long. Girl leave the show and get you a 9-5. What were you doing before Love and Marriage Huntsville?

  5. I wonder what happened between them – that man is done completely with her and doesn’t want any ties with her at all.

  6. Destiny is sneaky, mean and a user. I wonder if her now best friend, Stormi, will loan her the money needed to satisfy the debt owed to her ex-husband. When Melody was Destiny’s friend, she rescued her financially a few times. Pawn that Gucci purse!!

  7. YEP still like Destiny, like nobody makes bad decisions LOL!! And someone made a comment that she is making Moses a storyline 🙄 umm him and his wife came to her whole circle that’s why everyone accept Mel whining azz has a problem with it! I don’t agree with some things she does but I pray she finds her way!

    1. Destiny’s circle? Girl, please! These people are not actually friends in real life. Moses is Destiny’s storyline because she can’t legally discuss her real storyline which is avoiding prison because she keeps doing criminal acts to spite her ex husband. This is the person you’re praying for though, not “whining azz” Mel right? You know, the one that literally is in court right now because her ex beats their kids and tried to revenge p her. One day we need to talk about why some of y’all love criminals so much but despise black people who don’t have mugshots!

      1. Now this ain’t nothing but the TRUTH!!! Some of these people relate to criminals because they have a criminal mindset!!! IMO….

  8. Destiny always have other people business in her mouth. But got all this bullsh-t going on with her. And then try to rip Moses and Sunni about there relationship. So we see now who is all Cap… ( The Chicken Man ain’t playing with her a-s)… Lock her a-s….
