Monique Samuels officially returns to RHOP.
Many “Real Housewives of Potomac” fans were shocked to learn Monique Samuels is returning for the upcoming season. They recall how her departure from the show was highly controversial during Season 5. Monique and Candiace Dillard Bassett were involved in a physical altercation while the cameras were rolling. After Gizelle Bryant expressed she no longer wanted to be around Monique, Monique got even at the reunion. She then made her exit.
Monique moved on to Carlos King’s, “Love & Marriage: DC.” However, she and Chris Samuels left the show after they decided to move forward with dissolving their marriage.
The LAMDC exit was followed by Monique being critical of her experience at LAMDC and Carlos’ way of handling things as the Executive Producer of the show. And it seemed as if she was done with reality television as a result of the experience.
Monique Samuels addressed her return to RHOP during a recent Instagram Live session.
She said, “I declined probably a good seven times, and then something happened. Something changed and I was just like hmm. I’m not the person that I was. And a lot of the reasons that I said no was because of the person that I was and I’m not her anymore. So, what better way to test my healing?”
Monique added, “But no for real, I have been running from the platform that gave me a foundation out here in these streets. When I really thought about it, what was keeping me from returning was a lot of fear and also a lot of PTSD. I was built way different then, I’m built a little better now.”
She said returning is also a good business move.
“And given everything that I have going on in my life between my business Mila Eve Essentials which has been extremely successful and also my book that I’ve been working on…for anyone who’s been following me consistently, y’all know I’ve been talking about my book for at least two years now. It’s been a work in progress. It’s also something that’s near and dear to me.”
The next season of RHOP will be a great way to show her growth, “And I love that you’ll not only be able to see the levels of growth I’ve achieved when you read my book, but you’ll also be able to see it now on TV as well. I have been able to move past that and it’s my season. I’m stepping into my season. I feel like everything that I’ve gone through up until this point has been for this moment and I’m really excited.”
