Mimi Faust’s relationship with Stevie J. was one of the biggest story lines of the first season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. Stevie was seen on the show partaking in an affair with his music artist Joseline Hernandez, and made it clear in a “counseling” session that he wanted to keep both women around romantically. But according to Mimi, she had been dating Stevie J. on and off for about 15 years. For that fact alone, many people questioned why it took her so long to walk away from someone who obviously had no intentions of being monogamous.

The reality star got a lot of flak for how she was portrayed on the show, and after an epic video rant and several interviews; it’s clear that the criticism started to get under her skin.

Mimi feels that she isn’t alone in her frequent bad choices in relationships, and despite how people feel about her, she still thinks of herself as a strong woman.

In a recent interview with Sister 2 Sister Magazine, Mimi (who is now in a new relationship) says that now after 15 years of dealing with Stevie J., she now understands how important it is for a woman to pay attention to the “signs” in any relationship.

She says:

“I think the biggest lesson would be, when you see the signs, don’t ignore them. Because the signs in your gut will never steer you wrong. A lot of times when I saw the signs and felt something, I would ignore it.

“When I knew he was lying to me and I just accepted what he said, for one. Things like that.”

Mimi says once again that she tolerated Stevie’s shady ways because she just wanted to keep her family together:

“I think I was just really trying to make our family work.

“I’m very strong. It’s so crazy how I’ve ben painted in the media, like I’m weak or whatever. I’m not weak by any means. I’ve been on my own since I was 13 years old. I’ve always worked. I’m nobody’s weak anything.”

The full interview with Mimi Faust will be in the March 2013 issue of Sister 2 Sister.

  1. I’m not sure why it should take any woman 15 years to understand that they need to pay attention to the signs. But then again, this is Mimi we’re taking about here.

  2. It’s not the media’s fault that most people feel she’s a weak woman. It was her actions on the show and in her real life. She should have pulled an Eve and left Stevie J. a long time ago. Eve caught on at 19 years old that he was a fool, Mimi is just figuring that out in her 30s. IJS.

    1. Cosign! How does a 19 year old chick catch on but a grown woman doesn’t? And even now I fully expect Mimi to take back Stevie J. I’ll be shocked if she doesn’t.

  3. I actually like Mimi. I just feel she is very delusional. She’s not the only delusional woman in the world, but the fact that she actually let Stevie J. impregnate her definitely puts her in the running. That man has a lot of issues. Women ought to be running away from him when they see him coming.

    1. Not only do they need to run away, but they need to think about their health when he tries to spit game. There’s no telling how many STD’s that fool has. He’ll hump anything with a vag. Gross.

  4. She’s still in denial. We think she’s weak because she is. Until she admits that, she’s more prone to take him back.

  5. LOL….DID U C URSELF ON TV…..Happy u moved on…..lotta wasted yrs….great never the less….IT’S CALLED COMMON SENSE…..
