Nicki Minaj’s resume has grown over the years as the Young Money rapper has done a number of things outside of music. As that may be true, it hasn’t stopped a lot of people from being turned off by the Barbie image that Nicki has been portraying for some time now. Starting off with a lot of street appeal, Nicki Minaj drastically switched things up once she got signed on to the Young Money record label. And from then on, Nicki went from around the way girl to head Barb in charge in the blink of an eye. Some of Nicki’s fans who were down with her ever since The Come Up DVD days felt that Nicki was selling out for fame and they weren’t feeling the colorful wigs, outfits or multiple personalities that became apart of Nicki’s new image. Despite the backlash that she got over her over-the-top antics and style, Nicki’s fan base has grown significantly since she first came out as her music has gained her crossover appeal. Nicki let her fans know before though that she was trying to steer away from pop music and go back to her rap roots.
Those same thoughts that she has about her music must have carried over to her overall image too as Nicki’s first move to doing that was parting ways with her long time stylist/hair dresser. It was said that Nicki Minaj wants to be taken more seriously as an artist now. And judging by recent pictures of the rapper, she is playing no games about it either.
Here are some recent pics that Nicki tweeted of herself rocking some pieces from Designers Alexander McQueen and Oscar de la Renta, post split from her stylist:
Very pretty.
Is it safe to say Nicki Minaj has officially put the Barbie theme to rest?
She looks great. Can’t even be negative. Lol.

She’s such a beautiful lady and I’m glad she is toning down all that make up so that we can see her beauty!
