R&B singer and “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star K. Michelle has plenty to look forward to these days when it comes to her music career. With a new studio album dropping soon, she’s already released her first single V.S.O.P. and the record has gotten lots of praise. In fact, it’s currently the most added song on Urban Radio.  But K. Michelle isn’t forgetting where she came from. In fact, the singer broke down on stage during her performance at Highline Ballroom in New York on Thursday. It’s nothing like headlining a sold out show to make someone get emotional, especially when they once thought their music career was over. The singer broke down on stage before she got into “The Worst Man I Ever Had,” her own take on Beyonce’s smash hit “Best Thing I Never Had.” K. Michelle took a moment to reflect on her alleged abusive relationship with Memphitz. She says:

“I had people send me hate tweets and do things to me like I was the one who did it to myself. I think a lot of women don’t tell they story and a lot of women…and men…a lot of women don’t…just because you don’t know what people are going to say to you. And more and more women are coming forward and I think if you go through that you have to use it to help other people. You have to be strong.

“I thought my career was over (starts crying). I thought it was over. I didn’t have anything. I still get angry and I think that’s the reason for a lot of things that I do that shouldn’t. But you can’t take the excuse you just have to get better and say, ‘why?’ And move forward.

“I love my fans. Y’all just as crazy as me. “

  1. K. Michelle needs to cut the ish and tell the truth. She never was hit by Toya’s husband. This charade needs to stop!

    1. Girl hush. Memphitz and Toya are not Jay-Z and Bey. No one needs to lie to lie on them to make it. LOL.

    2. You don’t know that. I wish people would stop jumping down this girl’s throat about this. It’s her story.

        1. You mean if it wasn’t for her popularity from being on LHHATL…just thought I’d fix it for you.

        2. Toya, get off this blog. Don’t you have an abusive husband and a too grown child to look after?

  2. There are a lot of things K does that I don’t like, but I still like her as a person because she owns and tries to grow from it. I just hope she gets past this for good and learn how to think before she reacts.

  3. I hate people who jump on women that accuse men of abuse. It happens! we should never shun them and think they are lying. we are just as bad as the one that put their hands on them.

  4. I believe in testimonies and I believe in advocacy. In my opinion, there’s no limit to the amount of times a person can share their story, especially considering the platform K. Michelle is on. I can’t see how people could be so detached from the harsh reality of domestic violence when it comes to this girl. At this point, I don’t care if she’s lying or not…..she’s giving those women that are afraid for their lives a voice and an inkling of hope that things can change and life does get better. When it comes to this I wish people would see beyond the reality television aspect of her life and understand that she’s human and domestic violence is a very serious situation. Like her or not, she’s making a difference and she’s being heard. Get over it and let her live.

  5. If K. Michelle is lying why did Memphis drop his lawsuit? It’s no way in he!! If someone is lying on me and is defaming my character. I wouldn’t drop the lawsuit. I would of kept it going and expose the truth. That speaks major volumes to me that Memphis is guilty. Everytime he gets interveiwed about K. Michelle he stumbles over his words and they don’t seem sincere at all. I believe her and I want her to tell her story every time she gets because that is her testimony and she deserves the right to show how god got her out a bad situation and that she survived. . I don’t know anyone who can cry everytime about a painful situation over and over again unless its true. Lies don’t have feelings but truth does. You might dont like her and she might has a temper but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t abused.

  6. Get over it k! Stop lieng! You got your record deal now. Which is not gonna last long! I don’t feel sorry for somebody who abuse people themselves!

  7. Ignorant b-tches kill me. If you was not in the room when this woman says she was beaten, then you should have no opinion about whether she’s lying or not. Most men who abuse women are charismatic, conniving, cunning, and manipulative. Nobody knows what goes on behind peoples’ closed doors. You’d be surprised at the men you know who abuse their wives or girlfriends. Women come to work, school, and anyplace else with no visible bruises and smile like nothing is going on and you’d never be able to tell. Hell I was one of those woman for 10+ years of my life. Those coward a$$ men who like to keep their abusive ways a secret know where to hit you so people can see it and sadly, most women would NEVER call the police on their abuser becuz she loves him and doesn’t wanna see him hurt. So those bashing saying she’s lying, until you’ve been abused, keep your mouths shut becuz YOU DON’T KNOW!
