Mary also opened up once again about her past battle with alcohol addiction and her determination to not end up like Whitney Houston. Here are the highlights of the interview.

On her addiction to alcohol, she says:

“Others may be able to drink and have a great time, but it doesn’t work for me at this point. I haven’t had a drink in a year and three months. I had quit for a long time but started again about five years ago. I’m off it completely once more, and now I feel stronger than ever.”

She also says she refuses to end up passing away tragically like Whitney Houston:

“Whitney Houston’s death really crushed me. I saw someone so incredibly talented just diminish, and I refuse to go out like that!”

And if you’re desiring to get toned abs like Mary’s, she reveals her secrets to a great body:

“My main exercise is cardio. he treadmill is fine but running outdoors gives me the best results. I try to log 6 to 8 miles a week. I could be in the worst mood, but when I do my cardio I feel much, much better.”

Mary also says a diet that consists of no sugar and no dairy products plays a role in maintaining her great figure.

The December issue of Shape Magazine hits newsstands November 25.

  1. She looks good alright, and now I’m starting to wonder if the steroid story involving Timberland, Dr. Dre, 50, Busta, and herself in 2008 is true.
