Gabrielle Union has been in full press mode to promote “Being Mary Jane,” and a lot of interesting quotes from the actress were taken before it was confirmed Dwyane Wade got another woman pregnant despite his longterm relationship with Gabby.
In her interview with TV Guide, the actress recalls her failed marriage and says she only got married because at the time she was “all about getting the ring.” On why she can relate to the character she plays for the hit BET show, she says:
“Hey, I can relate! When I was in my 20s, I was all about getting the ring. Cut to: I’m divorced.
“Some of us put more work into choosing the right therapist than choosing the right guy. Nobody talks about the work — the really hard work — that goes into marriage.”
And now that the “love child” news is out, Gabrielle’s publicist has been taking charge of her interviews and making sure she doesn’t speak on her current situation. In fact, gossip enthusiast Gary With Da Tea says he remembers getting kicked out an interview last year because Gabby refused to discuss her boo. He says he was told by her rep that he “intimidated” Gabby and she was nervous he would bring up his ex-wife. The actress’ publicist kicked him out their interview promptly and he was not too happy about it:
She’s obviously still about getting the ring because she’s staying with a man ho who actually had the audacity to not only cheat but to get the side chick pregnant. And that proposal doesn’t make it any better.
Yeah she’s dodging those baby questions. I’m not surprised.
So not much has changed in her 40s huh?
Nope.
I really hope this beautiful black woman gets the courage to walk away from this messy man soon. She has no children of her own but she will be step mommy to 4 of them, with one coming into the picture while she was actually with him.
Well she has the ring now and it’s not worth it at all.
Off topic I tried to watch her show last night, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Why is it that these shows with black female leads felt the need to make sure they are mistresses and side chicks? I mean why make them educated and successful to just be some man’s whore in the next scene? Smh.

Yaaaasssss!!!! I actually like her show but found myself smh alot and I love Scandal but i shake my head alot at Kerry Washington’s character too. Smart women who act dumb as hell behind a man….

D Wade loves to make the women in his life suffer and pay the ultimate price just to be with him like he’s God’s gift to women. Smh.
I’m starting to think she’s using her messy life to get publicity for her messy show. Hmmm…
It’s possible. Very possible.
Every time I think she can’t look more stupid she always proves me wrong. Gabrielle would sell her soul to the devil himself if it meant getting that ring. She is not going to discuss her man’s infidelity because it’s just a reminder of how stupid she is and why her man really proposed to her. She is just so pathetic. This lady truly disgust me.
