Lil Wayne has been in the headlines plenty as of late because of his fallout with Birdman and Cash Money Records, but now the rapper may have been the target of a nasty prank.
According to TMZ, someone called the cops and claimed four people had been shot at Weezy’s home in Miami.
The site reports:
Police are rushing to Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach mansion after someone called the cops and said they intended to start a firefight with officers. The person claimed 4 people had already been shot.
Miami PD raced to the home on ritzy La Gorce Island … and have set up a perimeter.
The bizarre report comes 11 days after police raced to the home to check on a report of a suspicious person lurking outside the home. Cops let the guy go because when they arrived he was on public property.
Police have officially declared this incident a swatting, writing on Twitter, “MBPD handles all calls of this nature in a serious manner . In this case it appears to have be a hoax @ #LiLWaynes home . #Swatting”
