Rock Singer Slams Kanye West & Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean wasn’t safe from Henley’s wrath either.

The R&B singer and songwriter sampled the Eagles’ hit “Hotel California” on his “Nostalgia, Ultra” mixtape, and Henley is furious four years later.

On Frank Ocean, he says:

“Some of these young kids have grown up in a world that doesn’t understand or respect copyright material or intellectual property. They look at songs as interactive playthings.

“I didn’t think he was cool. I thought he was a talentless little prick. And I still do.”

When the interviewer asked if he would be okay with Kanye sampling his music, he says:

“No, I’d be just as pissed off. I don’t like him, either.”

  1. Now I don’t give a f-ck about someone going in on Kanye because he’s a sellout, but this a-shole sounds like the typical white racist piece of sh-t who swears any form of black music is inferior even though black people are the ones who invented rock music. F-ck him.

    1. Now you know I love you but I don’t think this dude is racist. He did like Browstone’s cover I Cant Tell You Why. I just don’t think he likes Kanye or Frank. Not everyone does. Miguel is better than Frank and gets way less praise. And well Kanye just isn’t likable.

      1. Totally agree! I love The Eagles music and if Frank sampled their music without permission or if the disliked tbe final product, they have every right to be pissed off. Most of us have no use for Kanye and it’s good to see that his arrogance and unlikabilty is evident to others as well. I see nothing wrong with what Don said.

  2. Frank Ocean is very talented. He’s a great songwriter hands down even though I don’t think he’s a great singer. This man needs to shut up because most people don’t consider the Eagles to be a standout rock group like that.

  3. I remember Frank didn’t pay for the sample or something like that, so what he said about Frank is personal. I can understand why he’s still upset about it. I don’t care too much about what he said about Kanye either.

      1. Well it’s conflicting reports because some say Frank didn’t pay because he didn’t make money from the mixtape and then some are saying Don got screwed out of publishing so he’s mad he doesn’t get royalty checks.

  4. This man has been mad at Frank for years. Frank should have paid for the sample but he decided to be smug about it on his blog basically and said the man should be happy he’s paying homage. LOL.

  5. I also wanted to add Don Henley is an avid Obama supporter. This isn’t a race issue. This is a music issue. This man just knows Kanye and Frank are overrated.
