Police brutality continues to be an issue in the black community, and the recent development in the Tamir Rice tragedy has a lot of folks outraged.
As many of you may already know, there was no indictment.
The New York Times writes:
A 12-year-old boy playing with a pellet gun in a Cleveland park is shot and killed by a police officer within moments of the officer arriving at the scene. A grand jury, with the guiding hand of the county prosecutor, has now determined not to charge the police officer with a crime.
When a troll tried to place blame on Tamir Rice’s parents for his death, Gabrielle Union wasn’t having it:
It’s so sad to see some people going to leaps and bounds to excuse what happened to Tamir. If this child was white, the cops would have had a heart instead of shoot first and ask questions later.
Her tweet was perfect.
She is absolutely right and the fact that people are trying to justify the killing of a 12 yr child shakes me to my core. I have 3 nephews that could have been Tamir I pray every night because they will kill a black child without hesitation.
I don’t care for her but I respect her for this.
Sh-t I thought someone called her a home wrecking hoe again.
