Power Recap: Things Look Bleak for Ghost + Tasha & Angie Have Another Showdown

Ghost arrives to jail.

The episode opens up with flashback scenes of Tasha and Tommy warning Ghost about having a romance with Angie. Throughout these flashbacks, Ghost is in prison and begins removing his clothing and personal items as requested by the guards.

During his strip down, Tasha is calling his cellphone to inform him that Tariq is missing and being held for ransom.

Ghost tries to convince the guards to allow him to answer the phone since his wife is calling, but he is told that he will get his phone call shortly.

Angie then walks in and tells the guards that she wants a blood sample from Ghost.

When he tries to convince her to allow him to talk to Tasha, Angie angrily tells him that they can have a NYPD cruiser sent to his house immediately if he’s so pressed to notify Tasha of his whereabouts. This angers Ghost and as he begins walking up on Angie, the other detective steps in front of her, putting things back in perspective for Ghost.

Mike disposes of the murder weapon.

Mike takes the gun he used to kill Greg and throws it into the river. He has gotten desperate and will now have to do whatever possible to keep people from suspecting that he killed Greg. Shortly after, he gets a phone call from another detective who alerts him of Ghost’s arrest. He is also told that Angela arrested Ghost for Greg’s murder.

Keisha is still alive.

Tommy goes to a secret location and it is revealed that Tasha’s best friend Keisha is alive and well. Apparently he hid Keisha to keep her safe from Milan, who ordered Tommy to kill her.

Tasha starts calling him, and he reminds Keisha not to tell Tasha he hid her. He answers the phone and Tasha tells him Tariq has been kidnapped.

He abruptly leaves.

Dre is in a panic after Ghost’s arrest.

After Ghost is arrested at the club, Dre is left to try to pick up the pieces. He’s asked what to do by the other employees since Karen witnessed Ghost’s arrest, and he tries to call her and convince her not to back out the deal.

In the middle of the conversation, Tommy walks up on Dre and snatches the phone away, hanging up on Karen.

Tommy jacks him up and demands information about Tariq’s new friends.

“I gotta find Tariq, but Raina said you know some of these people he’d been f*cking with. Some motherf*cker named Slim?” – Tommy

“Sh*t. What do you mean find Tariq?“ – Dre

“He’s missing, Dre. They asked Tasha for money. So you tell me, who is Slim?” – Tommy

“I told you to have a closer eye on the kid. You told me it was family business. You told me to fall back.” – Dre

“Do you know where he is or not?” – Tommy

“I could find out.” – Dre

“Good. I’m coming with you.” – Tommy

When Tommy tells Dre they need to get Ghost so they can locate Tariq, Dre tells him Ghost was arrested by Angela.

“What the f*ck?” – Tommy

Angie is breaking down.

Angie’s been running off her anger with Ghost, but once she gets home and reality sets in, her nerves become shaken.

She attempts to find solace in a glass of wine, but she ends up spilling it all on the floor and shattering the glass.

Ghost gets some advice from his attorney.

Ghost uses his first phone call to call his lawyer Proctor.

When he explains that Angie is the one who arrested him and he’s been charged with Greg’s murder, Proctor advises Ghost not to talk to anyone while he’s behind bars. He tells Ghostshe will see him first thing in the morning and be sure to update Tasha.

When Proctor calls Tasha to give her an update on Ghost, she tells him Tariq is missing. Since Ghost is already behind bars, he suggests they don’t inform him of Tariq’s disappearance for right now. Tasha agrees.

Dre confronts Kanan.

Dre locates Kanan and asks him about Tariq’s whereabouts. When he sees Jukebox and questions who she is, Kanan introduces them.

Andre says he needs to take Tariq home but Kanan tells him he won’t be allowing Tariq to go home just yet because he wants money. But once Dre explains that Ghost can’t pay because he’s behind bars, Kanan is elated.

Jukebox wants him to keep putting pressure on Tasha for money but Dre suggests that he pays them instead.

He agrees to giving Kanan, Jukebox and their other parter $15k a week so Tariq can go home.

Tasha wonders if Kanan is involved.

Tommy has a conversation with Tasha about Tariq and she questions if it’s possible that Kanan is involved. Tommy tells her it’s just not possible because Kanan is dead.

“Kanan is dead, Tasha. I mean, look. Him and Ghost walked up in that warehouse. There ain’t no way that Ghost walks out of there if Kanan’s still breathing.” – Tommy

Kanan releases Tariq.

After making a deal with Dre, Kanan promises to send Tariq home. Tariq promises to lie to Tasha about who he was with. Kanan gets spiteful and tells Tariq that Ghost was arrested.

When Tariq gets home, he tells Tasha that he was hanging out with some friends and they thought it would be funny to fake him being kidnapped. He promises to never hang out with them again.

Tommy asks Dre where Tariq was but Tariq tells them he lied about having a friend named Slim to Reina because he didn’t want anyone to know they were drinking.

Tariq refuses to tell Tasha who his friends are and Dre refuses to tell Tommy that Tariq has been hanging out with Kanan.

Dre instead says he got a look at Tariq’s friends when he went to pick him up but he doesn’t know their names. Tommy doesn’t trust Dre but drops it for now.

Proctor tells Ghost about the evidence, Tasha struggles to come up with bail money.

Ghosts tells Proctor that he believes Angela arrested him out of hurt but Proctor tells him that Ghost’s fingerprints were discovered on Greg’s window. Despite admitting that he was there, he denies killing Greg. Proctor promises to work on getting Ghost out on bail and calls Tasha to alert her that bail will be $2 million. She will need to get her hands on clean money immediately.

When Tasha goes to the bank to get the money, she finds out that Ghost has already spent all the money.

Things aren’t going easy for Ghost either. Behind bars, he’s being harassed by the guards and referred to as “cop killer.”

Keisha returns and Angela secures a house warrant.

Keisha goes by to check on Tasha and tells her she went missing for a while because she needed time to process how Tasha was laundering money through her business.

Tasha apologizes, and minutes later the feds, along with Angela, come to the house with a search warrant.

“This b*tch got some f*cking nerve. Just give me the word, T and I’ll beat her f*cking a*s.” – Keisha

Things get heated between Angela and Tasha pretty quickly. Angie asks if there’s a gun in the house, and Tasha takes her to the safe and gives up the gun. It’s quickly revealed that the gun was not the one used to kill Greg.

Tasha tells Angie she has no right to do what she’s doing but Angie retorts that Jamie’s actions give her the right to move forward with the investigation and anything Tasha tells her could be used in court.

Meanwhile, Tommy has to explain Ghost’s arrest at a meeting with the rest of his partners, and the situation is making folks very uneasy about continuing to do business. He’s also annoyed that Petar, Milan’s former right hand man, is still around and was told to stick around to keep an eye on Tommy until Ghost’s legal issues are resolved.

Raina confronts Angie.

Raina walks in on the house being raided by cops.

When she sees Angie, she confronts her immediately.

“You said you loved my dad. You said you wanted us to live with you. What happened? Why are you doing this?! – Raina

“Raina, let me explain.” – Angie

“Don’t touch me!” – Raina

Tommy tries to reassure his partners to move forward with business.

At the meeting with his partners, Tommy assures everyone that Ghost did not kill Greg. He also tells them they don’t have to worry about him snitching on Milan or any of them. He tells them he’s still working with the Serbs and Julio is the distro. Dre doesn’t seem too happy about Julio’s new role.

Tasha is getting desperate.

After coming back form the bank and discovering that Ghost has spent up all the money, Tasha looks into using the kids’ trust funds. However, the tax penalty doesn’t make the option a good one. She breaks down in tears about being pushed to using the money placed to the side for the kids.

She then goes through Ghost’s bag and finds a diamond necklace he bought for Angie.

Angela refuses to waver.

When Proctor sees Angela in court, he accuses her of arresting Ghost just to get even for him breaking up with her.

“You know he didn’t do this, You’re just angry because he left you to go back with his wife. This is revenge. You’re trying to ruin his life.” – Proctor

“That’s reductive. James ruined his own life.” – Angie

Tasha visits Ghost in prison.

She informs Ghost that Angie came through with a search warrant, and Raina got really upset.

“When I get out, I’ll make it up to them. When I get out, I’ll make it up to all of you.” – Ghost

Tasha doesn’t think there’s any way Ghost can make things right at this point. She informs him that she went to the bank and she knows he spent all the money.

He apologizes for not telling her ahead of time and she questions if she should sell the necklace he bought Angela.

Ghost tells her the necklace isn’t enough for his bail.

Tasha tells him that they don’t have any assets she can put up to get him out since they rent the apartment they live in and they don’t own the club’s building.

However, he tells her to get the money from Dean.

“Go get my money back from Dean, okay?” – Ghost

“Wait, I don’t understand.” – Tasha

“There’s a service he didn’t render, so ask Dean for my money back.” – Ghost

Tasha has no idea what he’s talking about and the guards come in to tell them that their time is up.

Dre and Julio clash.

Julio comes to Truth with the former prostitute he’s been sleeping with. He tells Dre that he wants her working there as a bartender and he wants Dre to teach her how to mix drinks.

This frustrates Dre because he feels like Julio lacks discretion and has poor judgment.

“Alright man. Ghost put me in charge of this sh*t.” – Dre

“And Tommy left me in charge of everything. I’ll talk to Ghost when he gets out. But for now, dude just get her a uniform, okay?” – Julio

Tasha gets clarification from Tommy.

Tasha is still unclear of what Ghost meant when he told her to get the money for bail from Dean. She talks to Tommy about it and Tommy immediately realizes that Ghost wants him to get the money back he was forced to surrender to Milan for “security” for Truth.

“He means the money that we paid to the security firm.” – Tommy

Tommy explains that they would have to get Petar to agree to returning the money but there’s no reason for him to do that since Ghost is no longer part of the business. But Tasha explains that it will be much harder for Tommy to move weight for Petar if Ghost remains behind bars.

“Make Petar understand that this is his problem now.” – Tasha

Tommy talks things out with Petar, and Petar reminds him that they have people they have to answer to in Chicago and Belgrade. He doesn’t know how he explains to them that he gave the money back when Ghost left the business.

“Helping Ghost helps everyone. Ghost fires Dean and asked for his money back. That explains Dean’s disappearance. If the Feds start asking about Milan, we got a ready-made bedtime story for them. I mean, you’re an accomplice in Milan’s murder Petar. So are the people in Chicago, since they signed off before we pulled the trigger. You help Ghost, you’re protecting everybody.” – Tommy

“I will get you the money.” – Petar

Dre informs Tommy Petar wired the money from his security company so on paper, it looks like a reimbursement.

After handing Tommy the check, he is told that he must hire whoever Julio wants to work at the club.

“Yo, why him over me? I held you down with taking care of Ruiz and knocking off Milan.” – Dre

“Dre, J’s been in the game with us for years. You show up a couple of months ago, you think you ready to be a distro?” – Tommy

“Yeah. I am ready.” – Dre

Dre explains that he’s been real with Tommy since day one and he deserves a promotion. Tommy then questions who Slim is in which Dre says “nobody.”

Tommy tells Dre that they will discuss his future when Ghost gets out of jail.

Ghost’s bail hearing doesn’t work out.

Ghost’s DNA was found under Greg’s fingernails as well as Ghost’s fingerprints being collected from Greg’s window of his apartment.

His lawyer is able to point out how flimsy the prosecution’s argument is, but the prosecutor points out that it’s dangerous to release a man who had no qualms going to a federal agent’s home and shooting him in cold blood.

As a result, the judge decides to deny him bail to send a message that there are grave consequences for killing members of law enforcement.

Ghost must await trial behind bars.

Tasha walks up to him and assures him that everything will work out. In contrast, he has a quick conversation with Angie and it’s not so hopeful.

“You can’t really think i did this.” – Ghost

“You’re right, Jamie. I know you did it.” – Angie

Dre warns Kanan, Tasha continues to struggle, and Ghost’s problems behind bars worsen.

Dre delivers Kanan’s money and urges him to back off and leave Tariq alone. Right after Dre leaves, Kanan sends a text message to Tariq.

Tommy calls up Proctor and tells him they need to talk.

Tasha arrives back to the house after Ghost was denied bail. It’s a mess and it’s clear that she’s very stressed out about the current circumstances.

Ghost is taken to a closed off area and beaten by the guards.

  1. I’m glad everyone kept calling Angie out for what she’s doing. She wouldn’t have arrested Ghost if he didn’t break up with her. She’s terrible at her job.

  2. The Angie stans were crying on Twitter last night because Angie was getting dragged so bad. I live!

  3. I love power but this episode was a little on the blah side to me. They really did hype it up like it was going to go down too and I was waiting and it never came. It wasn’t a bad episode, just not as entertaining as I expected it to be.

  4. And to think, Ghost would not even be in jail if he never cheated on his wife. It’s hard to feel bad for him knowing that.

  5. I believe Angie arrested Ghost out of guilt. She thinks Greg was killed because of her. I can’t see a future for Angie. Her reputation is ruined on the job. Jamie can’t possibly want her back now … Angie might have an “accident” before the season is over.
